sure mr egbert!
Ahha, good morning Jade. How about some breakfast first?
We s)(ould all take a trip to t)(e beac)(!!!!
That sounds like a marvellous idea. You and your friends should have a good time while we have such nice weather.
Sick little Egbert
“I’m dying…” You mutter pathetically as you lay motionless in your bed, your blankets tucked around you like a cocoon and covering everything but your face. Your body felt like a smoldering furnace but to you everything was sweaty and chilly like a meat locker. Of course it was just a fever and there was no reason for you to be so dramatic, but you honestly felt like something chewed up and spat out. Even in fuzzy pj bottoms and a long-sleeved shirt you still shivered like crazy.
With a laugh you walk over, a bowl ladened with a thick and warming soup and a tall glass of water was on your platter. And even some nice, crunchy crackers on the side. "How is you domain John? Feverish as ever?"
Nearly Easter, anyone care for some festivities?
Evening.
You chuckle along with your father, however your laugh still held a confused tone to it. With another shovel of food in your mouth you rest your chin against the palm of your hand, your elbow resting on the table. “This centipede kitten sounds like that one character from that one anime movie. My neighbor Totoro or something? The cat bus.”
“Roan…Lalonde?” Your head pops up off your hand. “He’s Rose’s dad?” Funny. She never mentioned a father at all.
“The damsel was pretty tough. Together we slayed like…three dragons.”
There was the awkward tone of confusion, and it takes a moment for you to hold back any more snickers. But there is the gentle fatherly smile, lips twisted into a grin and eyebrows slightly raised in amusement. "Well, it would lay in your lap happily. So not exactly the same size."
Oh, yes, Rose. She was living with him for a moment in time, and his son. Alternates, of course, so I think uncle would help explain it more." You hum happily. No reason to tell him that the man was a past relationship, was there? But you keep on smiling.
"Three dragons? The must be a shortage of the mythical beast now. Creating endangered specials with your tough damsel."
That was... interesting.
You barely waited in between bites before shoveling more food into your mouth. There was a point where you started to hiccup due to not enough air getting to your lungs, but that was quickly solved with a huge gulp of water.
“Well as long as the ill mannered people continue to hold their polite demeanor and don’t turn around and stab you. Literally and metaphorically.” You reply with a tiny smirk.
“What’s a centipede kitten?” You asked with a quizzical frown. “Who’s the tipsy friend?”
Another laugh bubbled from your lips, “Yes. I battled so many dragons. However, the damsel turned out not to be in distress.”
You watch him with mild concern, wondering how he could swallow wihout chewing. But you are first-aid trained, and since your son didn't look like he was about to get any more sick than the hiccups there wasn't much more than a worry to pertain to. You sip lightly at your water, laughing softly under your breath.
"Well, you will certainly have a good while if you manage to get them to talk. Everyone has something to learn from."
You give another light hearted chuckle. "It was a kitten, adorable as could be, that had five legs on each side. It was a beloved pet to a young man who came upon this house often enough, much to the destain of his house mate." Then, you purse your lips. "He was a father of a fancy little boy, and the leading father or another girl who cared more for her mother. His name was Roan Lalonde. Not that I expect you know him, either. But he was a great friend that had to leave."
"So, either they were in a different castle, or your damsel was pretty tough. But how many others can say they beat loads of dragons?"
You swiftly take your usual seat at the small table and practically drool over the food that was presented. Your father was a terrific cook, however there were days where he went a little eccentric and overboard with food. Sometimes you wonder if he does that on purpose, but tonight was a nice simple dinner with a surprise for desert. You being to pile your plate with food.
“It was alright, I suppose.” You talk in between bites. “I wouldn’t say I went on a huge adventure…just a small walk. I met an interesting person today though.” You pause, “How was your day, dad?”
You are grinning, dishing yourself up just a small amount that would last you a while. Oh, you were hungry- but not as hungry as John with all the food he was gorging himself on. Withholding a chuckle, you listen and cut your meat thoughtfully.
"There are plenty of interesting people around. Certainly a few that are ill mannered, or threatening, but usually they hold themselves back and act in a polite manner. Unless they are to mention a 'centipede kitten', in which you should run." Taking a scoop you think to yourself for a moment, what did you do today? "My day was nothing special. I got off work, and washed the car. Called a good friend, he was just as tipsy as every but it was great to hear his voice. So tell me about your walk, did you fight any dragons or save a damsel in distress?"

Your smile grew in size when you heard your father reply to your call. Quickly walking into the kitchen you were almost tempted to throw your arms around him, but the smell of food distracted you. “Ah! Sorry I’m late. I’ve been a bit disoriented.”
"That is perfectly fine! A young lad's stomach will eventually lead them home. Preferably before the meal is chilled, but tonight you are in luck." You set down the sponge of justice before slipping on a pair of old oven mitts to place the warm container of the pot roast and slip it onto the table. "How was your day, son? Go on any great adventures?"
You sigh as you walk into the house and greeted the sense of familiarity with a wide smile. "Dad?" you called as you walked through the front door.
"Ahha! There you are young man! I was starting to get worried, nearly missing dinner. Come on, come on, I made us a nice pot roast and mashed potatoes. Then there is always dessert!" You called out from the kitchen, were donning a black apron you worked upon the slight filth of the kitchen- leftovers from the sad tale of cooking. But alas, the remains would be cleaned or you would have not been quite the gentleman or a father that you should have been.
Evening everyone. It is pleasant to see so many of you here today. The amount of people has been quite abysmal of late.
Afternoon.
Morning all of you.
Today is a good sunny day, you should all go out to the park and enjoy the day.
Evening.
