on the shore of my dream we don’t struggle                          so much. the moon pulls                more fiercely, yes, so that      our blood rises,            yes, but we still manage                      to speak                                 in low voices while the ocean sends cellophane             fingers                   to wrap around our ankles, intent on dragging us awake.

Stars We are all like stars, The way We burn. We are all like stars, The way the light of our lives impacts the people of the world. We are all like stars, We are all like stars. The way a son can warm the skin Warm the heart, We are all like stars. We are all like stars, The way some lights are not Seen until far after they die. We are all like stars. Like a son taken from his father Planet into the ground, We are all like stars. Like the ones on the badges of those who are suppose to keep us safe. We are all like stars Pointed 5 ways Looking 4 a way out Of a 3 sided fight Between 2 forces Trying to choose one side. We are all like stars. And the world is the dark place we are suppose to light. Before you kill a star, think of a world with less light Before you kill a star think of sky you won't light. Because without a star, The blue eyes of the sky turn black. We are all like stars. And you impact more than one planet In the solar system of life And you matter Can not be created or destroyed Only changed, And the range of your light will forever Be seen be felt Far after you disappears.

Her

Her "You used to call me on my cellphone" but, Now you don't need my love, above gravity you don't need to be held down. Shame. "You used to call me on my cellphone" They said you couldn't love me because, Black is midnight dark and your dream ball is over Cinderella. They took you from me. My mind fell to pieces My heart into the demising despair of self destruction. Believe me when I say I loved you to the mood and back, But my skin lacked And I was denied because I'm too much Of something I can't control. So they released her from the pain of being with me!? Right?! No. She loved me to the moons of Saturn. Do you understand punishment for something you didn't choose? Because I'm black, My heart sees the white light Before its dead Lacking the blood that kept it breathing Her.

Last night the sky was a bruise.  Black and blue. Stars circled like crows overhead, your saline tears pooling in my palms. We’ve endured silence ever since, but if you were to lend me your skin I would wear those bruises like they were my own. Darling, we were never made for soft landings.
