Two people wished me Happy Father's Day today. I didn't respond. It disappoints me to have to say this every year but I am not a man and do not qualify as a father. My children have an active and involved father. I am not it. Please stop offending me. Thank you and good night.

Repair Island

I withdraw further and further deep into myself to discover that's where I've resided all along...within myself on my own gargantuan island. There I cope with my secret fears and insecurities. I deal with matters of the heart that no one understands. I smile at the irony. I pick at the scabs that should've healed and fallen off by now. I look around and I'm grateful for my private space where I can repair...

Today I am a wild bird caged in a cubicle...
