Indefinite Hiatus

GUESS EVERYONE SAW THIS COMING??

But yeah I just don’t have Ed’s muse as much as I used to. I still have some motivation to write him I just don’t have alot of motivation to come on this blog and actually rp. I don’t know if it’s cause I’m uncomfortable here or if i’m just lazy-

I’m planning on moving Ed to a multimuse I plan on making. So if you want to still rp with him let me know and I’ll contact you when the blog is up. Otherwise, happy rping everyone

     “ Hey, it’s from Jinmay! “ A smile quickly molds onto        his face as he peers at the trinkets, and photos inside. Gibson was        standing on his toes, his own curiosity visibly piqued while he tried         to peek over his young leader’s shoulder. “ Looks s’ if she’s gone to        a lot of places. Maybe she got a lead! “        He lifts out a particular photo from the box, recognizing one of the        figures in the group picture and quickly identifying it to his fellow        peer. “ You got to meet her, huh? Any idea where she may be now? “        Chiro couldn’t help but ask, as concern and care lined his voice.        “ Yeah… “ He faintly blushes at the thought that Jinmay had wanted        to send this gift to him. Nor did Chiro want to admit that he was        in love with her in front of this stranger. Glancing away from the box,        he places a hand on the back of his neck.

       “ Thanks…Hey, if you ever manage to run into her,          while you’re out there, uh, tell her I said thank you. And that I hope          she’s okay and that she’ll find some clues to where she comes from,          and to visit. If we didn’t have to go defending the city, I’d for sure come          an’ help her, believe me. “

“Not really.” He answered truthfully. He kind did wish he knew, she seemed like a nice girl. The Dojo members could always use more friends (Ed especially). “Sorry, she didn’t really say where she was goin’. She was heading in the direction of my home planet though. It’s called Earth.” He said, kicking his board up, it folded up and landed on his back in a kind of backpack.

He gives a nod and then a grin. “Hey, no problem. If she is headed towards Earth, or at least that system, we should run into her again soon since we’re going back for a bit after refueling here.” Though now he’s changed the subject, and Ed’s curiosity is peaked.  “Defend the city? Ohhhhhh right! Jinmay did say you were some kind of super hero. That’s so rad!”

“So are those weird formless things the only things you have to fight? They were so weird, kinda reminded me of this other courier service back home we had to fight alot.” DNA had all but gone completely out of business since Bedlam disappeared, it made the streets a little more quiet. Though there were still other services still in business and going up the ranks since DNA was gone and Dojo was off world sometimes.

“I–” He tries to answer, say that OF COURSE he didn’t need one. He gets distracted by grabbing the money owed to him, and is caught off guard by the flick. Thankfully it didn’t hurt much, as he still had his helmet on. He still feels the need to adjust it before speaking again.

“I can find my way! It just– takes a bit.” He said with a shrug. “Normally I’m with one of the others and they help me out but I was on my own today. I haven’t been in the city long you know.” Not that he could remember, anyways.”I’ll be faster next time. What was it Burn would say – scouts honor!”

⦗ A.Z. FILES ⦘ alyssa was more than aware of ed’s short history in academia, but to brush it off to getting help from the others? no doubt burn, deets, and the others were getting sick of guiding him around. it was no wonder he’d been alone today… ❝oh, ed…❞

a soft sigh, and her hands positioned on her hips. it wasn’t a matter of being too slow for her, she was more than patient given the population of academia. but she didn’t want him getting lost in the wrong district of the city and end up unable to regain his bearings. ❝i’m going to make you a nav system one of these days, edward, you mark my words.❞ both her tone and the choice of name, paired with the wag of her finger, he should get the point that she was serious for once. ❝and you’re going to use it if i have to make you. then you’ll thank me.❞

“Hey Hey! Deets didn’t tell you my full name so you could use it against me!” He hated that name. Why did he have that name, couldn’t he like ‘legally’ change it or something? Just hearing his full name made him cringe.

“And you don’t have to! I’ll figure it out, er eventually.” She was a busy woman, that much Ed was sure about. The academy was a really important place (or so Fizz kept telling him) that meant she had important work to do right?

“Hey, tiny hologram, glowing is my shtick.” She squinted back at him, before rolling her eyes and nodding to Ed’s explanation. Maybe she’d explain her ordeal to him in the future, but at the current point in time she wasn’t about to go around telling him about herself. At least, not about that nightmare. 

Quickly following him, lest she get any more images of that horror in her mind, she tilted her head to the side. “Now sounds good. The pizza can wait, and I don’t mind ruining my dinner.” 

Then again, Ava never really had paid attention to those rules anyways. Gently taking the movie from him, she almost started skipping over to put it in, considering how excited she was to actually watch something exciting. In any case, Ava began looking around for some sort of blanket, seeing as she knew herself well enough to know that she’d probably end up in some state of sleep before the end of the movie. 

“Hey, Ed? Do you guys have any blankets around?” 

If not, Ava was already plotting out how to try and use him as a pillow without making it too awkward. She needed some kind of human pillow, considering the last time she tried to sleep without one it ended with her falling.

“Ice cream it is!” He almost cheers. Yes! He loved ice cream. Even if he technically had only had like -- two flavors. He brings the ice cream over to the table, making sure the hollo-screen isn’t going to get melted ice cream on it (Fizz just fixed it from someone spilling soda on it). “Um---” He hums at the question, tapping his chin before nodding. “We should-- somewhere-”

“In the closet.” Ed looks up to see Ol’Skool standing at the top of the stairs on the other side of the room. “Movie night without the gang?”

“Well Ava wanted to-- Oh yeah! Ava you haven’t met ol’skool right?” Ed grins, looking back at her before back at his ‘teacher’. “He’s kinda like my boss.”

“I am your boss.” Ol’Skool corrects before shaking his head. “It’s nice to see that Ed is making more friends. You kids sit tight, I’ll grab you the blankets.” With that said he simply walks out the double doors, coming back a few moments later with an armfull of blankets.

“Thanks!” Ed grins taking the blankets from the elder, only to stumble and fall over with them a few seconds later. Ol’Skool simply laughs.

“You kids have fun, if you need me I’ll be upstairs.” With that he walked off and Ed is now dragging the blankets over.

“So what movie did you pick?” He asked, already forgetting his embarrassment (a little bit).

Alright so sorry about not being on!! Other muses got really strong really quick, and then this week I’m preparing for a midterm so I might not be on alot--

but I will try to get to a few things now before I start working on some of my homework load for this week

     ○ – she couldn’t help the laugh that slipped past her lips, though to her credit she quickly pulled a hand up to intercept it. ❝ you’ve knocked yourself out with your board? that sounds…painful. ❞ another quiet laugh as she dropped her hand, shifting where she stood as the holographic screen appeared. a hum as he continued speaking, though she couldn’t help but frown a bit at his question. ❝ laser…what? i…i’ve never heard of that game before. you’ll have to forgive me…. ❞

    ○ – isabella’s eyebrows raised as he continued, a quiet hum escaping. she had wanted to go window shopping at the mall and she was never one to be keen on helping out strangers. then again, it did sound kind of fun…. ❝ why not? let’s start searching! ❞

“You never played lasergedon before? It’s totally rad!” It was practically unheard of for him to know someone who hadn’t played the game. It almost made him want to just drop the job now and go show her the game -- but he really didn’t want to face the wrath of Burn and Ol’Skool, so job it was.

“Alright!” He cheered when she agreed. “Did you wanna hop on the board? I promise I won’t crash.” Ed adds with a laugh.

Oh. She wanted to dance? Now? “Um, sure, I don’t see why not.” He laughs nervously, He stares down at her hand for a moment before taking it. “Do I need to like, um, teach you EVERYTHING or do you know the basics already?” He asked as he took a step forward, cutting the distance between them by half. 

They had to be close to dance right?

“Just how to dance with someone, I think. It’s just a big box, right…?” Closing the gap with a few steps, she placed her hand on his shoulder and blinked. That was how it was, right? Ava honestly didn’t understand why they had to act so formal, but that was what Mother wanted.

“Just, ah, tell me if I step on your foot or get too warm, okay…?”

“Kinda yeah, and if you wanna get really fancy there’s spins and jumps but we don’t gotta do any of that.” Though lifting Ava would probably be as easy as lifting Deets - which to say was actually very easy for the young prince. Even if she was taller than him.

He carefully puts his hand on her waist, and the other hold’s Ava’s as he gives her a smile. “You worry to much.” With that said, he starts to step, leading her along with him.

Well that hadn’t been the most pleasant fall. He hated using this thing for deliveries. If only he hadn’t broke his board earlier–

He’s just recovering and pulling himself up when the girl offers her hand. He hadn’t even seen or heard her there until that moment. Now he’s just embarrassed that someone saw him fall. He does take her hand though, giving a grin. “Thanks.” He said before pulling himself up to his feet.

“I was— kinda hoping no one saw that.” He said, grabbing the package he was supposed to be delivering which had fallen away from him when he fell. “Oh good it’s in one piece.”

                                                  “No problem.” She was glad to see he hadn’t hurt himself when he fell, but he seemed to be more concerned about the…package? Oh, was he a delivery boy?

                         Katrina let out a small laugh, “I can always pretend I didn’t see it, if you want– I know how embarrassing getting caught falling can be. It’s happened to me a time or two.” More than a time or two, and always in front of damn Samuel– Which just pissed her off, but it seemed fate was cruel to her in many ways involving that insufferable man.

“That--- would actually be great. I don’t wanna ruin my street cred.” Thankfully no other courier service was around to see that, he wouldn’t hear the end of it for at least a week (or a few days, it depended on who was the next to fuck up).

“I prefer the term courier, but yeah - more or less.” Courier just sounded COOLER. Ed tucks the package under his arm before tilting his head. “Need somethin’ delivered?”

“Yeah?” He asked, keeping his eyes on the road but tilting his head just slightly so she knew he was listening. He has to strain his ears to hear what she said, but he gets the gist of it. “Don’t worry about it. I don’t like being around people I don’t know either. It’s weird.” He didn’t understand why he felt that way, he just did. 

“The glowing was new though.” He couldn’t help but comment. “You don’t gotta explain now, I get how it is to be different.” He wouldn’t explain that himself, not now at least. It was all so….complicated. 

It was only minutes after saying that, that they arrived at the Dojo. He slowed to a stop, letting Ava get off before getting off the board himself and kicking it up into it’s backpack form again. “I just need to drop this off in the garage and then we can set up the movie.” He said with a smile, leading her inside said garage, though it almost looked like a lab area.

Up until they entered the area that looked like a lab, Ava had been trailing a bit behind as she took in all the scenery, and the way the Dojo was set up. It didn’t look as fancy as she had expected, but that was fine in her books. The lab, however, was a different story. With a shudder, she practically ran to what she assumed to be the other end of the room, and the entrance to the next room; before realizing what she had done. 

“O-Oh! S-Sorry, Ed. Uh, bad experiences.” Offering a small smile, she nervously ran her hands up and down her arms, trying not to shiver. Instead, she puffed out her cheeks and squinted down at the ground until she had managed a fairly bright glow. 

“Figured the glow would be better if I’m not your copilot, y’know?”

It only takes from the time he manages to put down his board for Ava to have dashed outside of the room. He blinks, looking around before noticing where she was. “Oh, uh, it’s fine.” What bad experiences, he also wanted to ask - but he bit his tongue on that and instead rambled about something else. “You don’t gotta worry though, the only thing that happens in here is us parking our rides and Fizz fixin’ them. And sometimes making some new gagdets but most of those aren’t dangerous.” Emphasis on ‘most’. Some things never made it out of the lab because Burn or Ol’Skool would shut down a project she was doing if they deemed it not safe for the group (they all knew she carried at least one around on her scooter anyways).

“I dunno, glowing and being my copilot are both Torch’s thing. He might get jealous.” Ed laughed as he walked over to her, and as if on que Torch appeared once more; his digital face appearing to squint at Ava for a moment before he laughed. “I guess I can let her get away with it.”

“C’mon, Lets get all this stuff put away and the movie started.” Ed said with a grin, starting to walk down the hall with torch following close behind. It doesn’t take them very long to get to the main room. The doors opened automatically and he lead her over to the small kitchenette area.

“Huh, the others must be out on deliveries. Can you check for me torch?” “On it boss!” The program said before zipping over to the computer on the other side of the room.

“Did you want the ice cream now or should we put it in the freezer?”

After making sure the cost was clear, Ed deactivates his slammer and put it back on his bet. With that nonsense taken care of, he actually had time to look over the package and make sure nothing was damaged (thankfully these boxes were built to be pretty tough!). 

He looked back up at the stranger before holding up the package a little bit. “This. I’m supposed to be delivering it to someone on this planet. I must’ve dropped it while trying to dodge what– whatever those things were. What were they anyways?” He couldn’t help but ask.

“And who was this supposed to go to again?” He grumbles as he looked at the name neatly written out. Sadly, he couldn’t read very well, earth’s language or any other! “Hey, could you read this for me? I’m still trying to learn this language.” He said, pointing at the name and address on the box. But it simply said Chiro’s name and the address as ‘the Super Robot on Shuggazoom’.

    “ Formless, as what their creator, the Skeleton King,     calls them, “ Gibson clarifies, clearing his throat. “ They’re rather tactless     in mind. No concept of practicality, just strategic ineptitude. “ He adds on,     waving off the formless.     “ They’re basically mindless zombies. “ Chiro     simplifies the scientist’s words–uncertain if he even understood all of the     terms Gibson used to describe their finished opponents. Canting his head     slight to the side, he steps closer, peering at the box to read the address     for him. “ Hey…it’s for me. “ He raises his brows, slightly surprised.     “ Strange. What a lucky coincidence, “ Gibson     comments as he folds his arms behind his back.     “ Yeah but, can’t really tell who it’s from. “ Chiro could make out the     handwriting easily. However, he hadn’t really recognized it. The only     handwriting he had come to memorize was the monkeys’, and his     own, of course. He heard Gibson suggest for them to open it here,     to make certain it was safe before bringing it back to the robot. They     remembered the last time they had a gift delivered to them, only     to find out it was a trap.     Curiosity piqued, Chiro inspects the box, flips it over on its back,     and shakes it gently. Before long, he’d slowly remove the tape     and wrapping to open it up.

“Really?” Well, that was easy! “Great! I thought I got lost for sure, I’m still new to this whole intergalactic delivery thing.” And this wasn’t even an official delivery, it was just a favor. The girl had offered to pay them, but Burn turned that offer down (surprisingly). 

“Oh, it’s from a girl we met a few systems over. What was her-” He rubs the back of his head at the thought. What WAS her name. It had been kind of strange, but easy to roll off the tongue. “Hey! Don’t shake it. It’s been through enough as it is, thrown around by those formless guys. I remember her telling me there’s a bunch of souvenirs in there too. You don’t want them to break do you-”

“Jinmay! That was her name.” He said after a moment of silence and Chiro looking through the box. Inside were little knicknacks from other planets, from post cards to stones, and even a shirt or two neatly shoved inside. There were also a few pictures of Jinmay, and one of her with the whole dojo.

“She helped us out awhile back, when asked what we could do to repay her she asked me to get this to you. Chiro, right? Man she wouldn’t stop talking about you.”

“Grand avenue? Got it!” Hopefully. Maybe. Well, it couldn’t be that hard to find right? He takes a glance at the map nearby as well just to make sure he turns the right way at first. He’s sure to have it after that–

“I’ll be back later! Better have my cred ready Ms. Alyssa!” He laughs, adjusting the package in his arms before zooming off and out of the Academy building. It wouldn’t be until almost two hours later that he returns to collect said credit. He should really download a map into his board.

⦗ A.Z. FILES ⦘ alyssa wasn’t worried at all, after all ed always managed to get deliveries done. so when he turned to leave, she called her reassurances over her shoulder, returning to her work without a thought. though when it took a few hours for him  to return…

❝ed … are you sure you don’t need a navigation system?❞ eyebrows furrowed in concern, she had a hand under her chin in thought. if he got lost so easily, having a responsive, quick navigation system could be invaluable. regardless, she was already turning to get the money she owed him, handing it over and placing a light flick to his forehead. ❝you should be honest if you can’t find your way, ed.❞

“Blueberries and pizza coming up!” Ed said, making his way over to the frozen pizzas first as they were already near the frozen stuff. She really didn’t look so good, so while normally he’d spend forever picking out snacks and drinks, he was quick about it so they could get out of here.

He makes sure to stay close so they didn’t get separated and grabbed some blueberries and a bag of chips before heading to the checkout. He hands over his card to pay and waits for everything to be bagged. “We can just head straight the dojo now, it shouldn’t take us long to get there but I do have to go slower since we’re carrying stuff.” As long as some other drop didn’t come up before they got back, then they’d be fine. ….he didn’t just jinx it did he?

After getting his card back he hands one of the bags over to Ava before walking back outside. His board easily unclips from it’s backpack state and returns back to normal infront of them. He jumps on, and waits for her to be on before zooming off (at least a little slower than before).

“That sounds great…” The notion of getting back to someplace a little less crowded was all that she wanted. It was her only comment as they proceeded, instead opting to stay close and keep her mouth shut. By the time they were back outside, and a bag was in her hand, she relaxed. 

Sliding the bag down her arm, she wrapped both arms around his torso once more, and let out a sigh. At least this time they weren’t going as fast as before, and while she probably would’ve liked a stronger breeze, it would do. 

“Hey… Ed?” Voice low, and her gaze fixated straight ahead, she had to bite her lip before continuing. “’M sorry about all that… I don’t do well in crowds…” Ava hadn’t meant to mumble it, but it was all that would exit her. “I don’t mean to glow like that, y’know…”
