“I’ve spent a lot of fruitless effort trying to overcome the black streaks that an abusive relationship left on me. It constantly seemed like I was taking two steps forward and then several thousands backward. When I brought this concept to Brian, shattered heart on my sleeve and head in my hands with defeat and dejection, he received it with open arms and we decided to run with it. Never since the explosive breakup have I felt so completely at one with myself. Making art from the ashen ruins of someone I wrongfully loved was the most truly freeing and healing experience I could have had. Brian made sure everything was perfect, and he gave me exactly what I wanted from the shoot. From jokes during the body painting to intricate direction during each set and even to helping me clean myself up afterward, I finally got what I needed to heal—understanding, balance, and love.”
