Steven looks up at his mother as he sat on her . He listens quitely as she does her best to explain it all to him. He guess did make sense.

“ did the other gems knows? Pearl didn’t even recognize lion , um well you” Steven tells her.

He wondered if she knew before that she would turn into pink lion. It was possible she didn’t.

“Did you even know you would turn into a lion?” Steven asked his mother.

Rose gently shook her head, pushing some of her curls back when they had fallen forward.

“I don’t think they did, though I can’t really blame them.” She giggled lightly as she kisses his head lightly.

“I didn’t know, actually!  It was a complete surprise, actually. But I’m glad I was able to come back and get to meet you at least!”

Rose grinned brightly as he pulled him in for another tight hug to show how much she had missed him.

Amethyst ran and hid behind a large rock. She peered over at the giant woman. She had never seen another gem before. All the others left before she popped out of her hole. She used to be kind of bummed out about it but she figured that they were saving her for a really big mission. Saving the best for last right? 

She figured this must be the lady who was gonna finally send her on her first mission. It took em’ long enough! She crawled to her and pulled on her dress.  “Hey lady I’m Amethyst! What are ya doing here?”

Rose was a little surprised to feel something tugging on her dress, quickly turning to see what it was- Well. Finding that gem didn’t take any effort at all. She’d came right to her! Now hopefully Rose wouldn’t scare her away on accident. She turned fully so she could kneel down closer to the young gem’s height.

“Hell Amethyst! It’s nice to meet you. I’m Rose Quartz! Well...I came here just to look around and make sure it was safe, I guess I found a cute gem in the process!”

Rose chuckled lightly as she was hugged again, reaching to ruffle Steven’s hair lightly with a warm, happy smile. Though it’d be a learning process, she was still going to do her best to be a good mom for Steven.

Though, at the question she was a little surprised. But then again, she expected it so it was better to tell him now rather than keep it away from him. If anyone deserved to know most, it was him.

She moved to kneel down in front of him so she was almost his height, giving him a sad smile.

“Ah…Well…I suppose this is where the bad news comes in. Do you remember your lion, Steven?” Oh this was getting awkward really quickly. No! She had to keep going. “Uhm…The bad news is there’s no more lion. The good news was because the lion was me. Does that make sense?”

Steven looks up her the whole time she explain it all to her. It did make sense to him. She always been there for him. Tears fill his eyes but he wipes them away.

“ but.. Why wait till now to come back?” Steven asked her. “ was it you couldn’t ?”

He had many questions still. He was happy she was back. He gently held onto her arm as he waits for his mother to explain it to him.

Rose chuckled lightly when he teared up, leaning in to kiss his forehead before picking him up so they could go sit on the couch with Steven in her lap. Now how to explain this part...

“Hm...Well- It’s still rather confusing for me but...It was like I couldn’t remember how! I couldn’t remember much to begin with- But that’s all fine now! I would always try to practice how to do all of that in private so I wouldn’t suddenly scare you all!”

She snorted lightly at herself before continuing. “That’s why I was always disappearing on you- Sorry about that, by the way.”

Steven smiles warmly up at his mother. He hugs her as he keeps looking up at her. He can’t wait spend so much time with her. Something he never thought he be able to do.

Sure the gems and his dad have told him so many stories about his mom. But wasn’t the same as knowing her. Now he can know her.

He did want to know where she been all these years. Had she just found way back? Or had she been hiding?

A New Crystal Gem

Today was like any other day, it was peaceful around Beach City. So far, no corrupted gems, but that meant Rose had to do something she hadn’t done in a long while. And even though she really didn’t want to, she understood the importance behind it all. Even if it was a precaution. Using the warp pad she warped to where she had to go.

The Kindergarten. Naturally, it was as creepy and eerie as always. But she had to check the perimeters to make sure nothing was hiding here, no Homeworld gems had remained and were trying to start this back up again, all of that. Her main reason for disliking this place was all of the memories and just how...Dead everything was. As she ventured through, Rose could swear she was hearing odd sounds, but figured maybe some Earth animals had found their way here.

But when she saw it...She had to pause. Rose immediately rushed over to it. It was a hole in the ground like any other of the ones around here, save for the fact that this one was newer. She could just tell. This gem came out after the war. Oh no. Where could they be? The pink gem had to find them as soon as possible.

...I hope you mean that. Anyways. I’ll be over as soon as possible. As interesting as it would be to do those things, it’s not for the best. Well, except weapon summoning. That shouldn’t cause any issues if it were to happen. But it’s best we find out how your gem works first.
