Staring at the ceiling, letting the emotions wash over me while I analyzed: what went wrong, and where did it all start???

Book Review : The Immortals Of Meluha
Growing up in Indian Culture we are surrounded with many fictional or mythological stories."The Immortals of Meluha" by Amish, the first book in the Shiva Trilogy. This trilogy is known for blending elements of fiction and mythology, incorporating characters and stories from Hindu mythology into a fictional narrative.
In "The Immortals of Meluha," Shiva, originally a Tibetan Chief, moves to the society of Meluha, which is said to have been built by Lord Ram. The story follows Shiva's adventures as he aims to help the people around him and do what is right. However, as the plot unfolds, Shiva realizes that the world is more complex and fraught with risks than it initially appears.
This book, along with the rest of the trilogy, has gained popularity for its creative reimagining of mythological elements within a fictional context, providing readers with a unique blend of ancient tales and contemporary storytelling
CHARACTER:
SHIVA:
The story follows Shiva and his curiosity related to new world around him.He is the first main character I quickly became fan.Shiva's multifaceted personality, combining elements of toughness, creativity, dynamism, and grace, adds depth to the narrative and makes him a compelling protagonist. His journey of curiosity and exploration in the new world around him, coupled with the challenges he faces, likely contributes to the overall appeal of the character.
The contrast between his rough exterior, characterized by smoking and fighting, and his creative, graceful side, including his ability to dance like an angel, showcases the complexity and richness of his character. This multidimensional portrayal can resonate with readers, as it reflects the intricacies and contradictions often found in real individuals.
SATI:
Sati is the main female character also she is the Princess of Meluha and daughter of King Daksha. The reason I fall for her character because she is patient, strong and powerful fighter. While being a tough fighter,Sati still stood proud in her feminity as it made her interesting.Besides this talent,Sati was forced in a group because of a law that considers her vikrama(an untouchable)due to her miscarriage in past marriage.
The exploration of societal issues like Vikarma in Meluha, where individuals are marginalized due to perceived sins from past lives, adds a thought-provoking element to the narrative. Shiva's realization of the unfairness of the Vikarma system and his determination to address the issue, even beyond his personal feelings for Sati, showcases the broader themes of justice and societal change within the story.
It's refreshing to note that the narrative doesn't solely focus on the romance between the main characters but also highlights their growth individually and collectively. The characters evolving together and facing challenges contribute to the overall depth of the storyline.
NARRATION:
The Kings from all places have so much trust and respect for Shiva who just immigrates to the city. Also, you'll notice their is a Commander who gives Shiva a hard time because he believes that respect needs to be earned.Though Shiva tries to help people and earns the respect of this people.
Shiva's journey to earn the respect of the people through his actions and efforts aligns with the classic hero's journey archetype, where the protagonist faces challenges and undergoes personal growth to achieve a higher purpose.
It's a compelling element of the story when a character, despite initial skepticism or opposition, manages to win the trust and respect of those around him through his actions, kindness, or other admirable qualities. This progression often adds depth to the character and resonates with themes of leadership, honor, and the potential for positive change.
CONCLUSION:
"The Immortals of Meluha" sounds like a captivating and thought-provoking read. The idea conveyed at the end of the book about not making decisions or judgments without considering all sides of the situation is a valuable life lesson. It reflects the complexity of the narrative and the various perspectives and nuances present in the story.
It encourages readers to approach situations with empathy, open-mindedness, and a willingness to understand different perspectives. It's often a reminder that things may not always be as they seem at first glance, and a comprehensive understanding can lead to more informed and fair decisions.
