Body extension final video!
What with the social distancing, I decided to use my giant hand to provide a source of compassion in these times without the normal handshake or high-five.

Remapping Project! Part 3Ā
[All illustrations were done in April 2020 and photos were taken on location]
April 2020: At the beginning of break, a creative slump like no other hit me and I was in a constant state of disarray. However, laziness does not reward true artistry, and, feeling inspired, I went back to work ready to go!
4/28/20: While walking outside, I saw a kidās chalk drawing and it made some feelings of worry go away. My mother, who has been extremely paranoid about this virus, as she is someone who could be susceptible for it, also smiled at its innocence and honest joy it gave. That truly felt good to hear.Ā
The last pic is just a nice ending to everything, wrapping it all up.
Thank you very much for reading! Methods of Inquiry has been a wonderful class and has helped to further develop my skills in such varying ways!Ā
Remapping project! Part 2Ā
[All illustrations were completed in April 2020 and photos were taken on location]
2/16/20: The work in my classes began to pile up, mostly notes from lectures and group critiques. At this time, I was really in the mood to do artwork, and was personally getting sick of writing.
2/20/20: I met with some new friends on a group project, and we felt like a band of cowboys. By this, I mean that we seemed to click the moment we were paired, and later, after the project, we began to speak with each other regularly afterwards, and still do!
2/29/20: We came back from a party at some guyās house and saw a strange man in a beard walking around talking to people. His appearance seemed a little batty, which is why he is drawn as such. It was hard to draw it right because it was nighttime, but I did the best I could.
March: Coronavirus pandemic begins in the US. I tried to think of a comic book cover kind of way in which I could visually display the magnitude of the situation but still be engaging.Ā
3/17/20: Leaving the dorm early was truly a sad experience. I had just gotten used to living in Ann Arbor and was ready to make more relationships with people, but alas, it is what it is.Ā
Remapping Project! Part 1
[All illustrations were completed in April 2020 and photos were taken on location]
1/7/20: I bought a skateboard and had a fun experience by almost crashing into a car. It was a funny moment, as I was just learning how to do it in the middle of an empty parking lot, and then it appeared out of nowhere. It is always important to be attentive, even when you think no one is there.Ā
1/24/20: [on left] Mom sends a big jar of peanut butter to the dorm, and it was the highlight of the day! I decided to have some on bread, but it was lacking a little something. [on right] Later that night, I went to Kroger with jelly on my mind. The thought influenced me so much, it kept me up at 1am.

Me wearing the body extension.
Here is a good look at my current body extension. Iām very confident in its appearance and, as shown in the test video I posted earlier, its interactivity. Part of the reason why I made such a large hand in the first place was to make a project in which, through action, helped spread subtle kindness during the events of Co-Vid19, and also bring smiles to people walking by, even if I couldnāt see them...because of their masks....
Anyways, Iād love to hear any potential feedback on what else I can add onto it. Iām considering on making this my final product, but maybe would like to add a bit more dimensions to the back of the hand, as it appears a little tooĀ āboxyā. Additionally, I am in the middle of filming interactions with the family encountering the extension, so that should be a lot of fun!Ā

ReMapping Proposal
This semester, much like the one before, has been an absolutely wild ride. From walking in snowy weather at the beginning of January to ending back at home unexpectedly one month or so before the year was supposed to end just seems so questionably surreal. Recently, to make due in-between time with my work, Iāve been reading a lot of Daniel Clowes novels as well as the book, āNewwave: The Underground Mini-Comix of the 1980ā²sā. After analyzing their illustration styles and understanding what makes them so unique in terms of composition, characters, and storytelling, I feel personally inspired and challenged to create a mini 6-7 page experience to represent my personal and social reactionary experiences of this past semester. I plan on this to be written in a way in which there is a fair balance between emotions in order to showcase this pastĀ āadventureā accurately.Ā
Check this out!
After several attempts at creating a solid body and weeks of head shaking, Iām finally proud with this model! All I need is to have it glued, have tissue paper applied around, paper mache it down, and then should be finished!
