She let out a loud laugh when he spun her around, not expecting him to let her away from his body. He had certainly grown into a man that she was glad to be able to call her own. “Though now you have me, so you have nothing to worry about.”

“You’re right again,“ he chuckled, pulling her back to him, and leaning down to place his lips against hers. She was all his, and he couldn’t be more happy. “Am I a better dancer than Krum?“ He couldn’t help but ask.

Krum had been right for that time in her life, but now she was with Ron and he was the one to bring light into her heart on a daily basis. “Yes,” she responded easily, and even if Krum had been better technically, she would choose Ron to dance with any time.

Ron nodded in agreement, his cheeks turning a light shade of pink when she kissed his cheek. “I suppose you’re right,” he admitted. But she was always right - she was the smartest person he knew. Grabbing her hand, he spun her around.

Viktor had been so preoccupied with kissing her that he hadn’t even noticed the magical paparazzi at the other end of the alleyway. A heavy sigh escaped him, frustration at not being able to enjoy time with Hermione without something like this happen clearly on his face. “Fuck,” he muttered, his Russian accent thick. He was sure that Hermione would prefer not to have her picture taken in such a position, but he looked to her anyways for her thoughts - stepping away from her to create some space.

Her eyes narrowed as she looked at the wizard that was standing with a camera, she should have thought more about the fact that paparazzi might follow Viktor and even her around. Still, she expected some modicum of privacy. “I think that we should expect to see that tomorrow in the paper,” she looked at Viktor apologetically. “I think we should leave.”

“You are an amazing witch, Hermione. Anyone who does not see this is simply a blind fool.“ It was hard to miss the fact that she was now at an easier level to kiss, but he said nothing about it - amused by her ingenuity. He pressed his body against hers, his lips finding their way back to hers. She was addictive, and he didn’t want to ever stop the addiction.

She blushed at his compliment but she was not just speaking as her competencies as a witch, but she was meaning that he saw her as more than just a friend earlier than anyone else. Hermione moaned against his lips, her fingers moving through his hair.

It was then that she heard the click of a camera and she pulled back immediately, a wizard was there taking a picture of the two of them.

Ron blushed in embarrassment at her words. He had apologized to Padma multiple times, but he still felt bad about it. “I know,” he muttered, pulling Hermione a little closer to his body. “I should have just swallowed my pride back then and asked you properly.”

“Yes you should have, but it all worked out in the end for the best,” she kissed his cheek as they continued to dance slowly. “Maybe we needed some time to grow up a bit more before getting together, hm?” She could admit that she too had her own issues when she was younger and that it was not only him.

He offered her a curt nod, wanting to explore more of her world; if she would show him. “I would like that very much, Hermione.” It was kind of her to ask. 

Hermione smiled brightly at him being willing to try something new, luckily food in the muggle world was not very different from the wizarding world but there was something about having something made with no magic that really made her happy.

She took his hand and apparated them to an alleyway, then walked with him to the restaurant, a place that served fish and chips, shepherds pie, and other simple dishes. “Here we are.”

Viktor moaned into her open mouth, his free hand coming to rest on her hip; and used to spin their position so she was the one with her back to the wall. When he pulled away to catch his breath, he smiled down at her. “Little bee knows what she wants.”

“Oh,” she whispered out when he changed their position, she bit her lip when he took his lips off of her own. She didn’t want to stop kissing him. “You’ve always been so kind to me, always saw me for me even when the people around me didn’t...” She wrapped her arms around his neck and perhaps he wouldn’t notice the wandless and wordless spell she cast on herself to float up a few inches.

His lips pulled into a smile that matched hers; his hands squeezing her hips gently. “I…wouldn’t really know,” he admitted with a blush. “I didn’t exactly dance with her at the yule ball.” He still felt bad about that night. He been too jealous of Viktor Krum, and upset with Hermione for being his date. But that was in the past.

“That poor girl,” she said with a shake of her head, no one wanted to be someone’s second choice and no one wanted to be the one who went with the guy who realized after they had gotten to the ball that he actually would rather be with someone else. Still that was far in their past and this was a good moment for the two of them.

Viktor was not quite used to London, or it’s vast number of places to eat. But he knew that she was quite familiar. So he would trust her judgement. “Why don’t you pick the place?” Anywhere would be fine with him. 

“How would you feel about going to a Muggle restaurant?” She asked him with a smile, it wasn’t something that she did on a regular basis anymore but there were some places from her childhood that she tried to get to every once in a while.

“Do not apologize, little bee.“ His hand came to rest on the side of her neck, his thumb rubbing over her jaw. “Never apologize for what you want.“ Viktor leaned down so that his lips could meet hers again, his tongue running across her lips. 

Hermione’s eyes closed as his thumb rubbed her jaw, and then his lips were against her own again and she eagerly parted hers for him. She pressed herself up against him as much as she could with their height difference, her hands on his shoulders to help her.

Viktor had enjoyed his time out with Hermione; had enjoyed her company completely. But now he was a little concerned for her - though he didn’t mind seeing this side of her. Despite his extra height, and strength, he was impressed by her determination to push him up against the alley wall. 

And he wasn’t stupid by any means - he knew exactly what had brought on this sudden display. He didn’t know if the group of young women had been fans of his, or if they were just crazed by his looks like so many seemed to be - but he knew that they were the reason for Hermione’s sudden boldness. And the alcohol was also in effect.

“You are stronger than you appeare, little bee.“

Hermione couldn’t help her blush when he spoke, it was definitely not like her to show this much eagerness, nor was it like her now that she had gotten older to get so jealous. He had been out with her after all, not out with them. She was who he wanted to spend his time with when he had his pick of most any girl in the wizarding world.

“Sorry...” She looked down, hoping that he was not upset by her actions, as much as a surprise that kiss had been, she had liked it.

Narcissa was well aware that the younger woman before her had been fighting for a long time, that had been splashed across the pages of the Daily Prophet. Narcissa had been fighting her whole life too but it just hadn’t been as widely publicised. She had her own trials and tribulations but she had suffered in silence, she had not showcased her pain for all and sundry to discuss although her husband and sister had tried their hardest to make a fool out of her in different ways. She had less influence than she had before but that did not mean she was going to be railroaded into doing something she did not want to do. 

“We are well aware of your struggles Hermione and do not think that you will be able to use past mistakes to justify your position. You are not the only person who has suffered under that roof.” She replied primly. She had said no compromises but she was going to have to do exactly that if she wanted to see her grandchild, that much was clear and so, as she always did, Narcissa would flex but never bow to the pressures exerted on her. 

“A joint statement perhaps, it would demonstrate unity within the family.” Her suggestion was spoken in a manner more musing than anything else. The family needed to be well represented in this situation and it would be beneficial to all parties concerned. 

“And you let certain things occur in your home, to children,” she would not just let her off because she had struggled as well. Hermione had practically been a child, and there were others that had been there who still were.

“It will be a statement from Draco and I alone. Your separate statement if you wish to make one, can include that you support us fully, showing unity in that way. My position here is the strongest, Narcissa, we both know that. I can support this child on my own if I must, and you are not in good standing in the wizarding world.” Hermione was not afraid to fight dirty when it came to protecting her child, she refused to be bullied. “I am also sure that you want to support us completely, it will help your reputation to be in support of a half-blood child, especially after who you were supporting.”

Perhaps Hermione shouldn't have done this, maybe she should be thinking more clearly as she pushed Viktor up against the alleyway wall. One of those things being that he was so much taller than her, but the alcohol from the evening was coursing through her. She couldn't stop thinking about how those other women had been looking at him.

She wanted to make sure that he remembered her, that he wanted her more than he wanted them.

“I thought you liked it when I was bold,“ he retorted back, moving them around the room slowly. His hands were placed on her hips, pulling her close as they swayed. While he’d been awkward as a teenager and could barely dance to save his life, he’d gotten better.

“Oh I do like it when you are bold,” she smiled up at him, she let him lead her, not minding one bit that he wanted to. He had gotten much better at it then when they were younger. “I hope that I am a better dancer than Padma?”
