Her cold hands were wrapped fairly tightly around the arms of the chair she sat in. When he appeared beside her, she wasn’t as surprised as she would have been before. Because she could sense him. His every move. This was also something she would have to get used to. It wasn’t going to be easy. She never opened up too easy, when upset or afraid. It was difficult to share her feelings, her thoughts. This new telepathy thing made that even worse. “Explain further, then?” She suggested, looking up at him now, expression very expecting. She needed answers. How long would this empty feeling go on for?

Antoine walked over to her, those crystal hues locking right on her. She may not have wanted to talk, to open up, but at least she was willing to listen. Sitting at the edge of her bed to get at her level, Antoine thought hard and long about when he was turned. She had an advantage, one he never had. Now, the thing was, how was he going to explain this part to her. A part of him that was so deep-rooted in resentment but thankfulness for a chance at a life so much more immortal than he could’ve dreamed while he was human?
“Look at your chair. You are squeezing the armrests, and if you focused your strength, you could break it with the grip you would hold a wine glass.” He said, slowly leaning forward while he continued to keep his eyes on hers. “You have an even stronger advantage that I didn’t in the beginning of my kindred life. You have someone at your disposal who has all of the answers, all of what you need to know about your kind.” Gesturing to himself lightly, he finished off his glass and placed his glass to the ground so he wouldn’t break it. “Mademoiselle, you have a life eternal, the power to read anyone’s mind. This gift, to you, has a speed and agility that no human could ever achieve.” Standing up slowly, he placed his fingertips ever-so-lightly underneath her chin in hopes to raise her head so he could continue to look into her gaze.
“You have a chance to show your enemies, those who harmed you, why they shouldn’t have crossed your path. You have power, authority. You are, by all means, a predator. You are young in this life, of course, but with me at your side, I can help you prove to yourself how perfect you are for what your life has become.” He admitted, taking his hand back before taking a step back while gesturing to himself again. “So, with that, go ahead and ask me whatever you please. I’m here for you and your disposal, Rhythm.”
