CHICAGO dir. Rob Marshall, 2002
another thing i adore about chess the musical is that the two most tonally different songs in the show, merano and one night in bangkok, serve the same purpose- "here's the setting and a vibe check". functionally, the songs are identical. they even both reference rodgers and hammerstein.
The Sound of Music (1965), dir. Robert Wise

Can I get some office job advice from anyone who has or has had one? Literally anything. I start next week and I'm so scared.
So serious about this pls help me
Every office will be slightly different. But most likely your manager or someone on your team will meet you on your first day to help you get any security badges you might need, give you a tour of the office, introduce you to other co-workers and help you get logged in and set up on your computer.
After you get settled, be sure to meet the people around you if you didn’t already. Most people have something personal at their work station like photos of family or pets and asking about them is a good way to break the ice. Similarly think about decorating your work station (I used playbill covers and had a small houseplant)
Depending on what you do, your job might provide you a headset/headphones or you may want to look into getting one so you can take calls or listen to music and not bother others around you
Depending on your job and how busy you are, try to step away from your desk and take breaks every 2-3 hours. I don’t smoke, but I would treat it like it’s my smoke break and walk outside for a few minutes
And of course, an important rule of any office, don’t microwave fish or anything very pungent for lunch that the office will spend the afternoon smelling lol
Edit: Offices tend to be overly air conditioned, so if you’re the type of person who gets cold easily, bring a sweater or something warm to wear. I’ve had co-workers who wore blankets or brought small space heaters too
me if anyone cares
