Learning How to Learn: Powerful mental tools to help you master tough subjects
LESSON 1: Focused versus Diffuse Thinking
FOCUSED MODE:
already established neural network
PRODUCTIVITY, effectiveness/efficiency
shortcut, faster way to, agenda, intention
familiar, nicely paved road
recall previously thought out solution
DIFFUSE MODE:
in the shower, while walking, after working out
CREATIVITY, ideas, new!
long way round, explore, random, roaming
develop new thoughts!
big picture
go on by trial and error
Either in focused or in diffuse. Can’t be simultaneously at both!
Like 2 sides of a coin; cannot see both at the same time!
