2025: Movies Seen

MOVIES I WOULD OWN ON DVD IF THAT WERE STILL A THING Sinners - Pure artistry. Every element was gorgeous, and it got to the heart of the evil that makes horror horror Weapons - Iconic. Hard to talk about without spoiling what makes it great The Life of Chuck - Beautifully told and acted Eddington - Had me fully engaged from the beginning. Goes off the rails for a bit, but nails the ending Together - Possibly the most romantic movie I've ever seen Bring Her Back - Sally Hawkins literally triggered every negative chemical in my body. Amazing performance Superman - Lots of fun and great music. Corenswet was perfect. So pleasantly surprised! MOVIES I'D DEFINITELY WATCH AGAIN Thunderbolts* - Expectations fully met. Great cast, great writing. Best Marvel movie in a WHILE The Monkey - Absolutely (and intentionally) ridiculous in all the BEST ways! Bugonia - Incredibly cast with IMPECCABLE acting. But I thought the twist was the plot of the movie MOVIES I MOSTLY LIKED The Long Walk - Excellent cast and great acting, but the ending deflated the whole experience Wake Up Dead Man - Some amazing performances, but lacking in the mystery department The Running Man - Definitely underlines how ahead of its time the original story was Thursday Murder Club - Cute, esp if you like murder mysteries Friendship - I liked it, but not the movie I was sold, and not as Tim Robinson as I'd have liked Wicked: For Good - Well done, but the last 3rd is why I don't like the original musical MOVIES I ENJOYED FOR WHAT THEY WERE Spinal Tap II - Generally pleasant with some solid laughs. "I am Springsteen, going on Sprevensteen." Happy Gilmore 2 - Put this on as a joke and ended up really liking it. Lots of stupid laughs Final Destination Bloodlines - Honestly better than I expected, and lots of great set-pieces KPop Demon Hunters - Not as into family animation as I used to be, but I really liked this and the songs were fantastic Until Dawn - Not the Until Dawn movie I wanted, but still a fun little horror movie that gives you what you'd expect Queens of the Dead - Love the idea, lots of fun MOVIES THAT ONLY DISAPPOINTED Frankenstein - Mostly eye-roll inducing. Beautiful gowns The Fantastic Four: First Steps - Did nothing for me. Never made me care about anyone or what was going to happen MOVIES I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER WATCHING Freaky Tales - I remember WANTING to see this. Hell of a Summer - I don't even remember this existing The Naked Gun - I'm sure my soul left my body immediately YEEESH! Freakier Friday - Expectations met. MOVIES I WOULD OWN IF I STILL BOUGHT MOVIES Abigail - Insanely fun! I wish they made more movies like this. Argylle - Super fun! I don’t care what anyone says. Deadpool And Wolverine - Extremely entertaining and exactly what I wanted it to be. I Saw The TV Glow - Had to watch twice to fully appreciate. Ended up loving it. Late Night With The Devil - Some stuff I shook my head at, but a lot of stuff I loved. The Substance - Excellent filmmaking. Kept me engaged the entire time. Exactly what I wanted it to be. Wicked - Gorgeous! Excellently cast and performed.

MOVIES I REALLY ENJOYED BUT WOULD PROBABLY NEVER WATCH AGAIN Didi - Great coming of age story. Very real and human. Hit Man - Was mid for a good chunk then BLEW ME AWAY!

MOVIES I LIKED Babes - Very funny. Great cast and acting. Damsel - Surprised how much I liked it. Madame Web - Went in with no expectations and actually liked it. Mean Girls - Great cast, solid adaptation. Oddity - Quiet, slower paced horror film that actually keeps your attention till the end. I screamed twice! Smile 2 - Not a super fan of this genre of horror, but REALLY well made and performed. The Fall Guy - Charming movie. Thelma - Very cute. Thought it would be more stylized and camp, but good for what it was. Lisa Frankenstein - Underrated. Sure to be a cult classic.

DIRECT TO VIDEO MOVIES I ENJOYED WHILE HIGH Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead - Not bad, but didn’t add much to the original. The Underdoggs - Fun movie to turn your brain off and watch.

OKAY MOVIES THAT DIDN’T REACH THEIR POTENTIAL In A Violent Nature - Had a LOT of promise, but kinda fizzles out in the end. Maxxxine - A very okay movie. Needlessly complicated. Ultimately nothing to write home about. Terrifier 3 - LOVE Art The Clown. Some fun kills, but not much else. The Wild Robot - Visually gorgeous, but not much else. Very low stakes and not the “wild” adventure I was looking for.

MOVIES I WAS TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED BY Joker Folie A Deux - Waste of talent. Who’s this movie even for? Longlegs - Stupid. Very stupid. Totally overrated and oversold. Tarot - Potential to be 13 Ghosts meets Final Destination fully wasted. Not the worst, but very meh.

CRAP Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - Stupid. A mish mosh of nostalgia berries, new pointless characters and easily neutralized threats. Drive Away Dolls - Terrible characters, terrible story, terrible editing. Just bad all around.
