He glances over at the phone that buzzed insistently in his desk, pausing the videogame as he leans over to pick the device. A sigh escapes his lips as he reads the name of the sender, unlocking the screen just for his eyes to be greeted by a garbled mess of letters forming an incoherent sentence.

And it’s not new, really; mostly, albeit grudgingly, he had to ask the internet about the meaning of the confusing abbreviations the raven-haired boy insisted on putting on a text to send him, even after the rival’s multiple complaints. This time, however, he doesn’t bother with the task of deciphering it, just quickly launching the phone back at his desk and pressing the start button of his console again.

Patience had never been one of his virtues, and never will be.
