heavy in my current rotation, definitely a softer sweeter take on that kind of metallic i hate myself type emo although i actually think that they’re closer to like an edaline type sound. found out about them through a sweet guy who asked for my number at japanese jazz show i worked a couple years ago (shootout ryan you have great taste).

I actually genuinely think that this ep is the best thing to come out in the past couple years and then i got to see them and they were so good and they covered ostraca and anyways i’m back home and reminiscing on my baby screamo days on these busses listening to pg.99 and closer when now my first reach is for this or the khayembii communique or sum shit and honestly it’s not all that different but in my mind there’s like 20 different emo genres (that i won’t call genres cuz that would be annoying so let’s say “distinctive moods”) and i rotate through them like yay!

back to the point, this silent-film-era actress named band is my favorite of the current distinctive mood i’m really enjoying :p

i know it’s cringe or wtvr but i love lifelover i used to have a patch on my backpack and i thought it was so lovely bc even people who didn’t know would get something out of it like imagine

your walking down the street. and in front of you you see a backpack that says lifelover on it. and you must confront the idea of whether or not you love life, love your life love human life love the idea of creation love interaction or knowledge or nature or virtue and then you go off with your day back to your measly kitchen job bc you can barely take a 10 min smoke break.

this is some real ass hardcore shit, so glad i discovered them. i love this band so much!

btw i moved to a place with no screamo so i’m learning to dj and will be spending all my foreseeable time getting to know my techno tracks well enough to mix them right and using flac instead of mp3 (subsequently redownloading all my screamo into flac) and basically not listening to emo in the way that i should to make this page what my 15 year old self would have dreamed of… sorry

but i promise i still love pg99 and do cry every time i put my pictures of june cassette on and more importantly will forever believe that screamo is the best, most authentic portrayal of the immortalness of soul
