Sexy Jack Kerouac Photos *ੈ✩‧₊˚

Lost Highway (1997), dir. David Lynch
Sexual fantasies and morbid dreams, all tangled up and twisted. This is Lynch, his long and bizarre dreamscape presented to you as an inescapable prison, imbued with a magic bullet narcotizing your senses, a grim reality for the light of your souls. Try and stop watching.
"I had nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion."
-Jack Kerouac
What type of star are you?
1st card
You are a supernova! There is nothing holding you back, and your inward desires and powers are now being shown in the 3d. You are invincible at this time with your manifestation, and it is important not to care too deeply about other people's opinions. Some of your best experiences and maybe breakthroughs are coming up. Also it would be beneficial to spend some time in silent contemplation or prayer, to hear guidance and how to move forward and manifest those dreams that are coming up for you. Move forward with strength and sureness, and all will be granted.
- Sophie
3rd card
You are a star for yourself. Right now people are depending on you as their rock, or as their star. You are somebody's brightest star right now, most likely a family member, but it could be someone from a friendship or romance as well. Keep tending to your shine and make sure it doesn't dull. This could be through self-care, positive self-talk, or anything that makes you glow! Do fun things and whatever makes you feel good, but don't lose contact with the world around you.

Joan Didion's Works- Slouching Towards Bethlehem
Hii <3 Here is the second part of the series, this time about Slouching Towards Bethlehem.
Published in 1968. A story, a love song, a reportage, and much more. This essay collection is Didion's wonderful prose woven together in a series of ponderings over the Golden Land, a.k.a. California. Similar to the white album, except this one seems less personal, it focuses more on the outwardly experiences Didion has in contrast to what she writes about in The White Album (her marriage, psychological state, her migraine).
I also prefer this book; it remains my favorite of all of Didion's works. The story that very much changed me is Slouching Towards Bethlehem, probably the most famous, as it details the hippie counterculture of 60s California through the eyes of someone who was indeed there, it also features conversations Didion had with these people, and incidents she lay witness to. The story completely transformed my views on the romanticized era of the day, as the people she met were often sluggish and irresponsible (giving drugs to children), nothing like the blessed children I had imagined and cherished in my mind.
Didion is again the unaffected observer, the cool customer. The way she writes about life is so personal and beautiful to me, and this book is the ultimate example. My favorite story is John Wayne: A Love Song, which I believe to be, in contrast to what I stated about the book before, a deeply personal and romantic text, which I hold dearest to my heart.
Book is divided as follows:
I. Life Styles in the Golden Land
II. Personals
III. Seven Places of the Mind
Have a wonderful day,

The Works of Joan Didion- The White Album
Hi everyone, in this post I want to write about the books by Joan Didion that I have already read, and something about them. Each book will have a separate post.
The White Album
Published in 1979, The White Album is a collection of essays, and alongside Slouching Towards Bethlehem, one of Didion's most famous works. The essay sections are titled with unadorned statements, calling forward the raw California Didion comes from.
I.The White Album
II. California Republic
III. Women
IV. Sojourns
V. On the Morning After the Sixties
My favorite, or at least the one I remember best is "In Bed", where Didion writes about her experience with migraine. It doesn't really have much to do with the book's other themes, but it says something about Didion personally, and the way she writes about such an unattractive topic is incredible. Most of the book focuses on the sixties and seventies culture of America, and Americana continues to be her most prevalent theme.
It's worth reading for the writing alone, but it's incredible to read about someone's personal experience with those mythical figures we have now immortalized (The Doors, Charles Manson.. etc.). We mostly learn of retellings these days, so Didion's account is now especially personal and refreshing.

The Place Beyond the Pines ༊*·˚
California Dreaming ⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
The contemplation of beauty, whether it be a uniquely tinted sunset, a radiant face, or a work of art, makes us glance back unwittingly at our personal past and juxtapose ourselves and our inner being with the utterly unattainable beauty revealed to us.

Movie recommendations ੈ✩‧₊˚
Hello dear nymphets and fawns <3 Today I want to share with you some movies that are very close to my heart, and that I can also describe using this quote:
"For me, a work of fiction exists only insofar as it affords me what I shall bluntly call aesthetic bliss, that is a sense of being somehow, somewhere, connected with other states of being where art (curiosity, tenderness, kindness, ecstasy) is the norm."
-Vladimir Nabokov
Lolita (1997)
Just as a disclaimer, I don't condone any of the action in the movie, but I am deeply in love with its aesthetic, a hazy childish dream that reminds me of waking up from a summer nap. I feel like it also stays very close to the book, and Lolita as a work of literature is a linguistic and poetic masterpiece.
2. The Place Beyond the Pines (2012)
This movie was recommended to me by Bunnie, and I am so glad I watched it, as it's now one of my favorites. The vibe is very reminiscent of the 2014 Tumblr era, and it reminds me of the video game Life is Strange. The plot is insane and echoes an Ancient Greek tragedy. It also has a hot tattooed Ryan Gosling.
3. Nomadland (2020)
This is a fairly recent movie, but I feel that not many people know about it. It follows a woman roaming America to find a home, and it portrays everything about the smaller details of life, while ultimately conveying a larger message. The shots in this are beautiful, and it is a simplistic movie and a wonderful legend of a wandering woman's journey.
Thank you for reading,

My favorite Lana songs ⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
Hi guys:) It's Sophie, and I have also decided to write about my favorite songs from our lord and savior Lana ♡
Shades of Cool This song is just on another level, it completely transforms you into another universe, while exuding an enchanting feminine energy. The music video is also one of Lana's best.
Mariners Apartment Complex This song completely connects to an inner part of me that literally only Lana can reach! Her voice sounds absolutely amazing on this one and it reminds me of waking up from a bad time in your life.
Wayamaya
The most tranquil of Lana's songs, it transports you to a serene beach in Hawaii, almost as if the song could turn into waves that take you far away into the ocean.
Ride
I don't need to explain this.
West Coast
Very similar vibes to Shades of Cool, and the video is also amazing.
