this show Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Christo adapts the story of monte christo and makes it about space vampires on the moon but also still parisian aristocrats and the art is just fucking amazing… 

it draws from the ukiyo-e style of Japanese art which was popular from the 17th to 19th century, which used a lot of rich and vibrant patterns, textures, and fabrics. for example, this one by Utagawa Kunisada:

or one more popular for Western audiences perhaps, The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai

so the show uses all these rich fabrics and colors and its just gorgeous
