it's nice to have friends, and it's particularly nice when friends from writing groups send you random snippets of craft books that relate to some poem you worked on a while ago and thought no-one would ever remember
We are mostly boycotting Amazon, but still have Prime for various boring reasons. So sometimes I order medical supplies and things like that for loved ones. Today I got an urgent message from the maternal unit:

^^^ This post gave me such a start, because when I was in elementary school I made a papier-mĂąchĂ© version of this artifact, but then it lived in our family home for so many decades that I kinda forgot it was a recreationâso at first glance I thought someone had posted a picture of my own ancient fish.

Mark: Should I get carrots? Will you actually eat them? KJ: I love carrots and am trying to eat more vegetables, I just never remember they exist. Mark: What would help you remember and/or actually eat them? KJ: Hmm. If they were pre-chopped, that would help. And if they were visible. Like in a clear container? Or labeled. Or if there was a reminder label on the fridge or something.

Katie: Yes, I know, itâs kind of a disaster, but Iâve been having trouble keeping my moss poles moist, so Iâm experimenting with putting a terra cotta watering stake in the top of that one. The idea is itâll leech water slowly in, actually getting the moss damp instead of just spilling out the sides. Iâll clean up all the loose moss while youâre at bowling!
