I need miscommunication Stancest with Clingy Stan and Obsessed Ford.
Stan, after finally getting everything he wants, is terrified to lose it all again because of his "suffocating" nature. He doesn't want to be a burden. But every time he looks at Ford he wants to crawl into his skin and stay there. He knows he can be clingy when he wants to be but can you blame him? He finally gets what he truly wants and he'll do everything he can to keep it. But he needs to be careful, play it cool, play it smart. And he does that by refraining from being too excited, too happy, too emotional, too clingy. He's afraid to make a move first and will only follow Ford's lead. He doesn't want to screw up again. He can't lose Ford again.
Meanwhile, Ford is fighting every atom in his body to stop himself from falling at Stan's feet and doing anything Stan asks. He's obsessive, he's possessed, he's inspired. Stan has replaced Bill's place (if Bill ever truly stood where Stan was) and he can't help but want to worship him. But he knows that his way to show love can be a lot; it can be downright strange and freaky. He doesn't want these impulses to drive Stan away. He can afford to lose him again, so he plays it nonchalantly. He will show Stan he loves him in normal, romantic intervals, while still giving him space.
In short, Stan wants to be around Ford 24/7. He wants his attention. He wants to be a part of a Duo again. He wants to burrow himself in Ford and never leave. Ford wants to do everything and be everything for Stan. He wants to be worthy of Stan's devotion and affection. He wants journals filled with Stan, photos of Stan, videos of Stan. He is a man obsessed and he wants to indulge in it.
But they're both so stupid. Stan is trying not to be clingy with Ford and Ford is trying not to be as obsessed with Stan. This of course blows up in their faces where they begin to believe that the other doesn't love them, which then results in them revealing what they truly want to do and behave. It ends with them becoming so horribly codependent on each other, but they are so in love that it doesn't matter. Stan gets to 5 as clingy and affectionate as he wants with Ford and Ford gets to be as obsessed and strange about Stan as he wants to be.
