I’m a disabled queer adult (he/him), and a nostalgic collector. I love toys, and talking about toys. I’m going to post about my toys here on this blog. many toys that I post will be my childhood toys, others were bought later on. I will add the brand (if known) and given name of all my toys in the tags.

- I buy new additions from second-hand (“thrift”) shops, garage sales, ebay listings and other local selling ads. I clean and sometimes repair them and they’re all set.

- older BABs, realistic animals and animals with beans in them who lay down instead of sit up.

- animal model figurines like schleich (older schleich, new paintjob quality is bad), especially farm animals.

- toddler / baby demographic toys. bonus points if they light up, make ambiance noises, or crinkle.

- macdonalds toys from the 00s - 10s, like neopets and the dog.

- bellasara cards, they are the only trading cards I collect

- the lion king toys and memorabilia. lion cub toys in general especially stuffed ones.

- I prefer older / vintage toys because their quality is often better, and for nostalgia of course.

Everyone in good faith is welcome, but I block blogs displaying shitty values like prejudice or bigotry. thx for reading :]

Very cool brochure I found at an information hub while travelling to visit family. It’s about frogs in the Illawarra (Aus) region. Some of them also live in my region!

I know it’s not a toy, I just really liked the design, reminds me of mid 00s animal planet. The species list is on my wall as a poster now.

He’s here!! He has ears they’re just hiding lol. He looks like he just woke up because he literally just left the sealed plastic bag he’s been in for over 2 decades. I’ll get better photos of him later.

I think I will call him Inu, it’s Uni backwards.

Look how different Uni looks! Her fabric has been so stretched out, ripped, stitched back up and replaced that she looks totally different. It’s hard to believe she once looked like this (but white).

Maximus is a weird thing. He’s shaped uneven and wonky (i think he looks like a rat, some kind of marsupial carnivore, and a lion. But he’s a tiger), what’s left of his stripes are the little dots on his head, his eye was lost so I gave him a button. But the weirdest part for me was that it took AGES to find out that he was made by / for a printer ink cartridge company. I was able to confirm the logo on his tag. I only found a couple photos of the products the company makes at all online. None of the toy tiger.

I was looking into the company for even some crumbs about him but I only found out that the company made toner and toner ink for printers and stuff, that the company was made in 2005 and died around 2015 (maybe?? I can’t read legal writing), and the brand name is now taken by a website that is “ a group for entrepreneurs and investors ” that looks sketchy. His tag says he was handmade in china.

I found Maximus at the secondhand store early 2023. I thought he was really scrongly but in a good way. Maximus had a hole going down his tummy that had been stitched up not so well. So I opened it up again and restitched it better. Maximus had weighted beans in his chest and I added a little extra in his tummy and front arms. I actually wanna add more so he feels like a floppy kitten :3

Did you know? Uni (Her brand given name is Charisma) came in different colours? I have found her online in white, pink, blue and purple!

And guess what? The blue one has sold….to a person who is gifting them to me for my birthday in September!!! 💙🎉🎂

Lullaby Lights Lion

I got him in 2021 in my local classifieds. His tummy lights up, he talks about colours and shapes, and he makes gentle tunes. His mane is very crinkly and his tail is ribbons.

I wish his rainbow tummy lights happened with his gentle bedtime tunes too, but unfortunately for that mode it only does a warm orange glow.

more Uni I love her a lot <3

I showed her to my mum recently and she was amazed I still had her. Immediately started talking about how Uni was in a million pieces and she had to reconstruct her. Uni’s had lots of work done lol

To be loved is to be changed

This is Uni. I got her when I was a toddler. She came EVERYWHERE with me. I recently found her brand after a long time searching, and found out what she used to look like :,]

As you can she she’s really been through it. My 3rd childhood dog ripped her up when I was 5, practically exploded her leg and who knows where her right eye went (it’s probably still in the soil in the backyard of my childhood home)

My mum repaired her, she gave me a choice of fabric to repair with and I chose the pink fabric because it looks like shaved skin. So it was like she had surgery. I remember choosing it because my previous childhood dog had a shaved leg when she had surgeries towards the end of her cancer fight a couple years prior. On her other side she’s got a reddish brown button eye, which I also got to choose from a range of buttons in my mum’s collection.

She used to smell like vanilla. I had another stuffed unicorn, her ‘twin’. She was exactly the same but pink and smelt sweet like fairy floss. It turns out uni came in many colours, white, pink, blue and purple! I gave away her pink twin when I was 4, to a girl I met on holidays. I hope she loved her as much as I loved Uni.
