Introducing the WSC Helepolis

We are The White Scar Contingency an LGBT+ friendly player group with a focus on enjoyment for all players both new and old. We seek to become a core group in the Elite Dangerous community and spread our influence to as many other factions as possible to provide an enriching and fulfilling atmosphere and enhance our players’ Elite Dangerous experience.*

We were founded under three key principals:

1. Fun and enjoyment trumps all; we will always consider the enjoyment of the game before the mechanics of the faction

2. Make your mark, help our players have their big moments out in the galaxy.

3. Open and transparent leadership. Everyone in the White Scar Contingency gets a say, everyone gets considered.

Goals:

1. Conquer a small region of space through BGS, carving out a niche of the galaxy to call our own.

2. Provide a player group with unlimited play styles all represented in potential lore and have broad equal play opportunities for players interested in rp and those that are not.

3. Upon reaching high enough membership, establishing a community outreach initiative to aid other player factions with pve work of all kinds including BGS aid, BGS consulting, Thargoid fighter reinforcement, and anything else a player group may request help with in exchange only for their alliance and a chance we may call on them should we ever require help of our own

Omega Sector.

LOG DATE: 04:12, 10th of September, 3304.

5500 lightyears is a long way to travel just to escape your problems. I’ve always preferred running over fighting, it’s just my nature. Out here, there’s nothing to bother me. No tedious relations, rivalries or fights. Nothing to distract me.

No one left to hurt me.

After the collapse of Noirceur, I ran. I ran far, deep into the galactic core. I felt scared by how quickly they turned on me.

My time there was short, but left a deep mark. I made friends and had some of the best experiences in my life, but it was never easy under The Autarch. She’s a powerful woman, someone I’ve always feared.

But now isn’t the time to worry about her. She can’t reach me out here.

I know I can’t stay out here forever. One day, I’ll head back to Dakshmandi. I’ll help to claim our new home. I’ll have the energy and the will to fight back. I’ll be better.

But for now, I rest. Watching the Omega Sector from the cockpit of The Golden Hind.

Virtute Simul

The call of the black is strong but my pilots are stronger.

Its Been a Long Few Weeks.

If I were to say that progress has been stunning, if I were to say that our prospects and outlooks have been high and our morale strong…that would be a lie.

As feared our faction has faced opposition from those that would see us struggle, those that would have us surrender our causes both as an organization and as individuals. There are those that would see us destroyed and run off from our new home, but the truth I can say is that we have not paled before them. My division, The Reign, we fly to overcome fear, we fly to push our limits, test the boundaries and break them, and the White Scar Contingency seeks to find unity among other pilots throughout the galaxy. Though I hope no one ever mistakes my actions for perfection, I hope that those that come will see that I have acted in the best interest of those values and goals.

I have taken it upon myself to conduct a diplomatic outreach to two larger factions to create our first actionable bonds. These groups, our neighbors of Lavigny’s Legion, and the A.R.C. Defenders wing have agreed to broker an alliance with us and provide aid to our struggle so that we may no longer have to fear our fight is in vain.

It is my hope, my dream, that this system becomes a hub for all pilots of all allegiances, of all starry routes to commune with each other. I want this to be a place of shared experiences, where heart and mind meld to form bonds across the stars, where our faction becomes the heart of a new galactic initiative to co-exist if not peacefully than at least with a place that is exempt from the polarity that strangles humanity.

I am proud of everyone of our pilots for the fight they have commited to our cause, the blood sweat and tears spilled in commitment to our creed Virtute Simul, for indeed we are stronger together.

And I will ensure you see the fruits of your struggle.

Today we finalized our insignia for the Contingent. Five unique animal symbols over our bright white star inseparably intertwined; representing the shadows we cast IE our impact on the system, and the strength of the group through our union. Each symbol bearing a scar to show the strength we gained overcoming adversity. I couldn’t have asked for a better symbol. Soon this emblem, this coat of arms, will fly proudly throughout the system. Soon we will make our mark.

The White Scar Contingency is an LGBT friendly Elite Dangerous player faction with a focus on fun, open and transparent leadership, encouraging open discussion on major decisions among all players, and accommodating all play styles. Players are free to join one of our five divisions, each with its own philosophy and flavor, and create their own internal groups with different game play focuses. Our group on the whole aims to eventually gain great enough membership to have a functioning community outreach model where we provide PvE support in game to other factions in return for alliances. Usurpation

The powers that be in Dakshmandi seem spooked. Not that they shouldn’t be. The Contingency has made such startlingly fast progress growing its power it surprised even me. Our pilots are dedicated across all divisions, driven by the prospect of having a system to call home. They all yearn for it like a drowning man yearns for breath, as though like me they’ve been waiting for this opportunity their whole lives. For a family to be a part of, for a home feel safe in.

I forget too often my story isn’t entirely unique despite the undeniable brutality and unfairness I’ve struggled through; this is a galaxy overflowing with pain. However it is met in equal measure by ambition, humans driven to greatness by terrible circumstance. Ambition from despair. Healing through motivation. I see it in my pilots, the shared desire to be known, to leave a meaningful echo. To be the first, the last, the best. The Contingent will be a support for these goals.

We are fast approaching our first conflict with the Nationals of Dakshmandi and its already shaped to be a landslide in our favor. A suitable fate awaits the fascist party under the heel of our influence. The other divisions seem just as determined to work together on this before pursuing more isolated goals and our coordination has proved just as fruitful as we imagined.

This place may as well be ours already. I already call it home.

Its Time

Things had to change. Eventually things always have to change, its the way of the universe, it is inescapable. We all grow and we all change even if we dont mean to. It was time.

I and my four compatriots have founded a new faction. Each from different walks of life, each with a past they had to heal from. We all share two things in common, we all want to make a difference in our own way, we all have scars.

We have decided to band our forces together to enhance our strength, to ensure each other's success, and to create security and strength by lending our skills to others. We have become many who are one, we have become The White Scar Contingency, and the galaxy will remember we were here...
