"Nice to meet you. I am Madame Callistemon, swagman, vagabond, and travelling trader of souls," the fox-like sinner explains. she has a sublte Australian accent, and hints at a more urban life. "I heard through the grapevine that this hellsite is home to many a universe, so I thought I might take my wanderings out to see-"
Someone else interrupts, though you can't see who it is. His voice sounding like he's speaking through an old radio, and he sounds rather smug as he interjects. "You mean you're running away from your problems?"
"Yes, and?" Callistemon replies.
"Ha ha! And this is why I follow you around my dear, always so entertaining. A prime specimen of human failure and aware of it! Youâre always a delight to talk to."
Callistemon smirks playfully and bows. "I try," she straightens up and gestures to whoever it is she's with. "This is Alastor, the Radio Demon, he's decided to tag along."
"Pleasure to be meeting you all!" Alastor chimes in, though he still remains out of sight. "I'm simply here to enjoy the show, I'm on a little vacation of sorts and watching as this fool of a woman tries to futilely to ignore the fact that she had quite the falling out with a certain Picture Box a few months ago...."
"Oh fuck off, Alastor, you don't even know the full story." she grumbles.
"But I know you've been absolutely miserable ever since!" Alastor replies gleefully. "And this new attempt at distracting yourself will prove to be just as hilarious!"
"... Anyway, you'll find the rules and other important information below, please read them before proceeding," Callistemon advises. "I take my rules very seriously and would prefer if everyone were on the same page before joining me on my journey."

Alastor cheerily waves at you from where he's seated on the couch.
"Hello to all eleven of you still following this tiny blog!" he says. "I've got a nice little announcement from the mod. She didn't want to just do a plain old post and thought to hand it over to me for some good old showmanship!"
"The good news is her passion for Hazbin Hotel has wound back up to being at the forefront of her mind instead of just being a lone braincell bouncing around the back of it!" He explains with a chuckle. "She's even cooking up a new original character and alternate universe to play around with whilst still trying to hammer out details for this one."
"On her behalf, i have a question for you all," Alastor states. "Would you be interested in seeing this new, far more silly universe she's in the midst of planning? Or would you prefer to simply stick with Callistemon's tale when she has the energy to continue our fine fable?"
"You see my lovely audience, the bad news is that the poor woman is under a fair amount of stress, and a heaping pile of real world issues that are counterproductive for working on the dramatic story beats that are soon to take place on this little blog of ours," Alastor states. "So instead, she's directing her muse towards something less serious, something more freeform with just some simple guidelines to follow."
"Calli and I will still be here to answer your questions, the Ask Box is still open, but would you like to see more than just our universe on this little blog?" Alastor asks. "Let us know down in a comment or something. Or send an ask! We're starting to run out of those."
"Like...?" Callistemon replies in confusion. "You mean like, as a fr-"
She pauses midway through her response.
"No, no we're not friends...can't be," Callistemon asks herself aloud. "He's The Radio Demon, I can't get attached, not again. Not after V-"
She cuts herself off with a deep, shaky breath. Her magic sparks around her, whether it is in warning or a sign of magical instability is unclear.
"I like..." Callistemon chooses her words carefully. "I like Alastor for the fact that he is unapologetically himself. Sure, we don't always see eye-to-eye, but this is Hell."
"This is Hell," she repeats, her voice sombre. "Where the good of humanity goes to die, and whatever is left is fashioned into a weapon for survival..."
Her magic crackles around her throat in a clear answered.
"I answered..." she growls at it, as if it has a life of its own. "Who cares if I left stuff out!"
The crackling power increases into a roar. Callistemon grunts in pain as she reaches up to try to grasp her magic as it coalesces into a silver chain around her neck.
"Fuck off! They asked and I answered!" she snarls and is dragged to the floor by the weight of the chain as it materialises into reality and wraps around her body.
Her arms are quickly trapped beneath its never-ending metallic coils. Her wings snap open and flail about uselessly as her legs scrabble for purchase on the dust-strewn soil.
"Alright!" Callistemon relents and the chains go slack, as if waiting for her to commit to her owns rules. "I also like the fact that he appreciates how much work I do around Hell as an Overlord, and that he's willing to even give me the time of day."
"He's the goddamn Radio Demon, why the fuck did he even ask to travel with me? But he asked to join me two years ago and I guess we just got used to each other..." She reveals. "I have no clue what we are but-"
The coils of metallic magic tighten their hold on her.
"I can't have friends!" she snaps at herself, at her magic, at the very core of her essence. Her magic finally settles. The chains vanish and Callistemon pulls herself to her feet with a weary huff. "But I can have associates, travel companions, business partners...But not friends."
There is more to it, more to Callistemon as loneliness settles upon her face like an old friend. But it is soon gone under the mask of professionalism she so often dons as an Overlord.
"Apologies for the outburst...Had a lot on my mind lately," she says. "There's a lot to like about Alastor once you get to know him, provided you can look past his...perculiarities. But like I said, it's Hell. You learn to ignore a lot of things down here."
((OOC: Sorry this took a while to get answered! But enjoy some juicy plot hooks as an apology.))
"Favourite type of music...well I like orchestral or uh, classical I guess. And Rock, and a bit of pop, though I'm a bit picky about that one," Callistemon replies. She remembers something and brightens up. "Oh! I like all kinds of different jazz stuff! Alastor got me into jazz not long after he started travelling with me."
She pauses, hesitant. But her magics an appearance, sparking around her throat in warning. She takes a breathe to steady her nerves.
"I am also fond of piano pieces, always have been," Callistemon reveals. "..Don't tell Alastor I said any of this mind you, but it's...nice listenning to him play whenever the mood strikes him. He's wicked taleneted."
"Hmm... No one comes to mind, at least no one you would know," Alastor remarks as he ponders the question. "Why restrict myself to favourite musicians when such talent can come from practically anywhere? Why, I've seen street performers who had more raw talent and passion for music than any of the corporate drivel that tops the charts these days..."
"I'm more of a fan of certain genres of music. Jazz, classical...and a smidge of pop and rock n' roll..." Alastor explains as he leans forward to slightly rest his weight on his staff. "Those last two are more recent tastes of mine. You can blame Callistemon for those..."
He rolls his eyes at very thought. "The poor thing is such a wallflower whenever I drag her out for a visit to the nearest bar, that the only way I can get her to join me on the dance floor is by tweaking the jukebox to play ABBA or Queen..."
((OOC: Sorry it took so long to answer your ask. But thank you for the question and I hope you enjoyed Alastor's response.))
"what sort of waffles? Classic, plain, savory, ice cream, fruit compote, cloud, mochi, chocolate chip, burger style?"
"I said waffle fries," Alastor specifies. "However now I do want waffles since you're offering. Plain will do just fine, we have some jam in our supplies that will go nicely with them."
"Creature Feature" huh? How's that going for the both of you?
((OOC: Sorry this one took a while to get to! This ask gets a little spicy, contains sexual and mature themes not suitable for a younger audience, viewer discretion is advised.))
âOh right, we should probably explain what Creature Feature is in more detail,â Callistemon suggests from where she sits in the gazebo. Her bat-like wings are lazily half-open as she lounges on the red couch. ââŠitâs not exactly pleasant after all.â
A slight crackle of radio static is all the warning Alastor gives before he speaks, his broad grin playful as he walks up to her. âFunny, I thought you liked it when I put you in your place?â
â⊠Dude, phrasing,â Callistemon replied flatly and returns to the question at hand. âLook, Creature Feature isnât just a libido increase or being horny as shit. Itâs when the body puts all physical and magical processes towards sex on and off for six days straightâŠâ
âYes dear, we all know about the bursts of appetite of the regular and sexual variety. The irritability and the shift into oneâs larger demonic form, and magical surges as the case is for Overlords such as usâŠâ Alastor said dismissively. âThey didnât ask about Creature Feature itselfâŠâ
Alastor picks her up with ease to hold her up to his eye level. He gives her a knowing look. âThey asked how we handle it.â
âI was getting to thatâŠâ she replies, her tail slightly flicking side to side and her wings flared open aggressively. âPut me down.â
Alastor hums in thought and says a simple, smug. âNo.â
He tucks her under one arm before she can get another word in and Callistemon barely has enough time to fold her wings fully closed so they arenât uncomfortably squashed against him.
Alastor summons his microphone staff, looks down to meet Callistemonâs annoyed, wordless grumble with a crackle of static and an amused chuckle.
âYou wanted me to play nice, didnât you?â he reminds her. âAnd weâd best be honest with our answers, no? Itâs all in the spirit of the romantic holiday you wanted to celebrate!â
He turns to face the gazebo and taps the ground with the end of his staff. Green and black magic spread from the point of impact to transform the area.
What was once a meadow of dry yellow grass, and an old, yet sturdy gazebo transforms into a moonlit forest clearing upon which a modest-looking wooden cabin is built.
âThis is a collaborative project between the two of us,â Alastor explains and dismisses his staff to make a grand, sweeping gesture at the newly revealed pocket dimension. âA little slice of Callistemonâs Aviary, her little corner of the Dream Realm, transformed by my magic. This is where we spend our respective bouts of Creature Feature.â
ââŠDo I just let you do all the talking orâŠ?â Callistemon asks. âI didnât think youâd want to explain this beyond the basics.â
âHa! We made a deal my dear, and I am not going to back down now!â Alastor stated and looked at her pointedly. âWeâre on stage after all.â
His wording and tone are deliberate, and it results in Callistemonâs mood shifting from annoyance to hesitation.
âOh, donât give me that look. I stand by what I said when I agreed to partake in this Valentine's Day tomfoolery,â Alastor remarks. His next words are gentle, almost kind. âNothing untoward will happen and you know what to say should you wish to not partake in a tame demonstration of our procedure.â
âI justâŠwhatâs the script?â she asks in turn. Another deliberate choice of words and whatever game these two are playing, it is one well thought out in advance.
And Callistemonâs hesitance fades and some of the tension in her body eases at his assurance.
âWhy youâre my charming assistant of course. You are to assist me as I explain the nuances of Creature Feature to our curious audience!â Alastor replies. âWeâll give them a little tour of sorts, a demonstration of how we keep our magic under control, dispel a few common misconceptions, and all you need to do isâŠâ
He dismisses his staff to hoist the fox-like overlord up to his eye level, their noses almost touching.
Alastorâs mouth transforms, the broad grin resembles the speaker of an old radio as his eyes shift into dials. He grows larger, antlers creaking like old trees as they expand. His limbs are lanky and he moves to hold Callistemon by the scruff of her neck pinched between two clawed fingers.
The radio filter on his voice is more prominent as he speaks.
âBe a good girl and listen.â
Callistemon looks torn between being embarrassed and being flustered. Her fur stands on end. She holds up a hand in a gesture to wait as she takes a moment to process his command.
Alastor looks highly amused as he takes in her reaction. âWhatâs this now, embarrassed? Care to explain your reaction my dear?â
âWell, uh, Sir?â Callistemon hesitantly suggests and at Alastorâs approving nod, continues. âMost people may associate your dominance and my reactions today as something sexual. And whilst we will be discussing sex due to Creature Featureâs symptoms, our demonstration today is not uh, not that. Weâre just having fun.â
Alastor tilted his head to his right as he mulled over her explanation. There is a quiet hum of power in the air.
Alastor carefully sets Callistemon down and returns to his normal form, amusement still shining in his eyes.
âAn excellent point, good job!â he praised. âWhilst todayâs tour and demonstration may get a little saucy, suggestive even! We are indeed just having fun. Putting on a show for our own entertainment.â
Callistemon was happy to let Alastor take centre stage. Her tail pointed up and curled towards her slightly as a dead giveaway of her contentment. She watched him closely, her hesitance and embarrassment chased away by Alastorâs confidence and flair.
âBoth of us enjoy these little stage shows outside of the bedroom,â Alastor states as he gestures for Callistemon to follow him. He walked up to the cabin door with her dutifully trailing behind him. âI enjoy having complete control, and dear Calli gets to turn that busy brain of hers off for a time.â
His head turns to an unnatural degree to look back at her. âNo responsibilities, no danger, no distractions. Just your complete and undivided attentionâŠâ Alastor chuckles lowly. âIt really is quite thrilling how someone so independent craves these small moments of total submission.â
âI aim to please.â Callistemon replied humbly.
Alastorâs laugh is fond as he turns his attention back to the cabin. âThat you doâŠNow then, on with the show!â
With a snap of his fingers, the duo are teleported.
They appear in a cloud of green smoke and sparkles inside a massive room within the cabin that had a high ceiling. The room is lit by lights on the wall.
A bedroom, the massive bed had claw marks gouged into the dark wood of the headboard, the black bedsheets and matching pillows in disarray, and a dark red blanket was halfway off the bed and in a heap on the floor.
It was not only the bed in disarray, but scorch marks also littered the floor, the wooden walls were chipped and scratched, and the sheer lack of personal items in the room spoke volumes.
A chest of drawers and a large wardrobe were up against the far-right wall and next to a vanity. To the left of the bed was a door left ajar. A glimpse of a bathroom could be seen through the gap.
âDo excuse the mess!â Alastor says and launches into an explanation as he removes his coat. âNow, contrary to popular belief, penetrative sex is not needed for one to find relief from the torture that afflicts so many of us down here. Any sort of sexual stimulation will do.â
He walks over to the chest of drawers and drapes his coat over the top and begins rolling up his shirt sleeves, his back turned towards the other sinner in the room.
âUh, Alastor?â Callistemon calls out from where she stands by the foot of the bed. She is staring slightly panicked at his backside. âDid you give yourself a tail or did it grow in?â
Alastor gives her a playful grin as said deer-like tail does a little wag. âYouâre the one who forgot to check the date, dearest.â
âOhâŠthat actually explains why youâre so chill with this.â Callistemon realizes.
He turns back around, his shirt sleeves are rolled up past his elbows, and the top button is undone. He takes a moment to fluff up his hair and strides over to stand next to Callistemon.
âHow do I look?â he asks her.
âSuitably handsome,â Callsitemon replies without missing a beat.
âPerfect! Now, my wonderful audience, while most would concern themselves with their libido during Creature Feature, as overlords, Callistemon and I have far more pressing issues to deal with whenever the affliction strikes,â Alastor explains. âFor any overlord that has this little curse, their magic surges, making them absolutely miserable and more dangerous than usual!â
He pauses his explanation to gesture to the bed. âCalli, up on the bed if you please.â
She clambers up to take her place sitting in the gap between two tossed-aside pillows, her back resting against the headboard.
Alastor takes a moment to observe her and nods.
âGood girl,â he praises and returns to his explanation. âAs I said, our main concern during our cycles are the magical overloads we experience, a tad unpleasant to be sure. And the key to dealing with it is control and focus.â
There is a slight electronic hum in the air, a shifting of static and snippets of radio channels fill the silence.
âAs to ensuring focus during a time where it is almost impossible, that is down to having something or someone to direct the magic towards,â Alastor continues. âEven directing it towards oneself if needed, though only as a last resort. Fortunately, I happen to have Calli here to act as a living magical lightning rod, observe.â
The lights flicker and suddenly Alastor is on the bed, hand splayed across her chest as his shadow appears behind her to wrap its clawed hands around her waist.
Callistemon doesnât look worried. She meets his intense gaze with an unwavering look of calm. Even as sparks of green and black magic fly off the radio demon and his antlers grow out like tree branches.
She is utterly content to simply let things play out.
His magic sinks into her fur, dances across her claws and the fox melts into his grasp, her ears pointed towards the endless ambience of radio noises Alastor passively emits.Â
âYou make for a perfect focal point,â Alastor purrs. âEven if I were shooting off lightning bolts of raw power youâd soak it up like a sponge, let every bit of noise wash over you, be putty in my clawsâŠWhat better way to keep oneself focused than to have the unwavering attention of another?â
âOnly because youâre magic doesnât hurt,â she replies softly. âItâs nice, fuzzy. You know pain isnât my thing.â
His shadow nuzzles her cheek and the fox-like sinner giggles as she is once again flustered.
Alastor hums, pleased with himself as he idly plays with the thick fur on her chest. The atmosphere shifts into a lazy calm as Callistemon simply watches him do as he pleases. His power washes over her like water off a duckâs back and the ever-shifting noise of his radio signal finally settles on a station playing classical music, a quiet, calming piece that drifts in the air around them.
âNow I could toy with you,â he muses aloud. âShow them all how good you are at dealing with a rampaging radio demon in rut, but Iâm not in the mood for a chase right nowâŠâ
Callistemon makes a noise in agreement as Alastorâs shadow rests its head atop hers and one of them begins purring. It's unclear whether the noise comes from Callistemon or from Alastorâs shadow but no one appears bothered by the noise.
Alastor himself slides down to rest on his stomach, his head landing on Callistemonâs lap. âI think an hour or two of letting my magic just roll off onto you will make for a fine time, donât you agree?â
âShowâs over, I take it?â Callistemon asks.
âFor now,â Alastor confirms. âIt could be the rut talking, but Iâm open to more discussions on the topic of our private performances should people wish to knowâŠTalk only mind you. Iâve no desire to do another demonstration, once is enough to get the point across.â
"Pentagram City still stands..." Callistemon began but she looked hesitant. But her magic sparked to life again, as if warning.
"You can't keep running forever..." Alastor reminded her. "Whilst I have no desire to go frocklicking about the Pentagram myself, you teo could go and try see if any of Francois' little friends are still around...And you did promise to help him however you can."
"Well fuck," Callistemon swore. but her hesitance gave way to steely resolve. She at Francois. "I can make a portal that'll take us directly to the city, or if you'd prefer to take the long way around, we can stop by my settlement, Ramshack, and then take the road from there to Pentagram City."
"I highly suggest the poral!" Alastor chirps. "That way the two of you could avoid the dreadful weather and Calli here can-"
"Don't Alastor, please?" Callistemon asked.
"You're the one refusing to acknowledge what happened," Alastor stated calmly. "I've been more than patient these last few months, but I grow weary of your stubbornness."
Alastor, with all the calm of a cat eyeing its prey, elaborated. "Callistemon got into quite the scrap with another overlord last time she was in the city, it was very entertaining to watch...but I find myself curious over the details as to what on earth that foolish little picture box could have done to cause such a violent reaction..."
Francoisâs gaze snapped back to Callistemon the moment the expletive left her mouthâwomen swore now? The absurdity helped to lighten his mood just a bit.
âThat's fantastic newsââ He paused as the pair started back and forth again, this time to a much less banter-y tone. âA, er, scrap you say? As in a battle with another overlord? So for her to return would be to possibly start a new battle, perchance?âÂ
That would explain Callistemonâs reaction to the concept and especially to Alastorâs suggestion. She was clearly uncomfortable with the whole thing and it would be ungentlemanly for him to push her into it, but. . .
âIf I may propose a compromise?â One hand rose to just about his own shoulder level as he spoke. âI understand that the constraints of our current agreement may interfere, however ah. . . I would be willing to go alone, if Madame Callistemon cannot set foot in Pentagram City herself. I just. . . I must find him.â
His previous attempt at a smile faded again, replaced with a determined stare.
âAnd I will do whatever it takes to accomplish this.â
"I can enter the city...I just don't know what will happen," Callistemon said though her hesitance was still glaringly obvious. "And Francois, you'd be a lot safer with me around."
Alastor looked at her expectantly.
"Okay, fine. I know, alright," Callistemon grumbled. "I always honour my agreements. And I can handle Vox."
A portal snapped into existence beside Francois.
"Oh, before you go dear, take Chaplin with you," Alastor stated and his shadow rose from the ground, teeth jagged and grin sharp. "I may have no desire to return to the city at the moment, but I would like to watch your little misadventure."
"...And if anyone sees him?" Callistemon asked.
Quick as a flash, Alastor's shadow latched onto Callistemon and became her shadow, the Radio Demon's fang filled grin perfectly at home on the fox's silhouette.
"People will assume you've either copied me or that I own your soul or some such nonsense. it makes no difference to me," Alastor replied and waved her concern away. "The only ones who are aware of our current arrangement are the sinners you own and have sworn to secrecy...and your new charity case here, but we both know you'll be keeping a close eye on him."
"Fair enough," Callistemon agreed and glanced over at Francois. "You'll probably need an alias of some sort, sinners nowadays don't go by their human name. Names have power, and modern technology has only made it easier for people to track down who other sinners were in life and use that information against them."
đ„đ - Enjoy your designated duck from the King of Hell himself.
Callistemon stares at the rubber duck sheâs now holding. The grin she bears is one of pure delight and wonder.
âAre you really so amused by something soâŠsimple?â Alastor asks as he looks down at her.
In answer, Callistemon slightly squeezes the rubber duck, it makes a quiet squeak.
âIâm naming him Sir Quacksalot.â She states and gives the duck a little pat on the head.
âItâs a rubber duck,â Alastor deadpans and sighs. âYou truly are easily amusedâŠâ
âItâs a gift!â she chirps as if that explains everything. âI donât normally get gifts! And itâs from the KingâŠâ
She still looks absolutely delighted. âItâs amazing!â
âIf you say so.â Alastor stares at her like heâs contemplating his life choices.
Callistemon looks up at him. âCome on Al, normally if I want random shit, I have to steal it. This was just given to me, freely. Do you have any idea how rare that is?â
âYouâre easy to please and easily amused,â he remarks. âGood to know for the future I suppose.â
âWhat, two years of travelling with me didnât tell you that already?â she replies with a smile.
âOh it did, but really my dear, a rubber duck? You donât even own a bathtub to use it in,â Alastor says and looks at the duck like it personally offended him. âItâs garish and tacky.â
âBut its mine,â she declares. âItâs my garish and tacky rubber duck, so there.â
She gives the duck another squeeze and listens to it squeak once more.
((OOC: On behalf of Callistemon, who is too overjoyed to remember her manners, thank you for the ask! Said rubber duck now takes pride of place in one of Callistemonâs secret hideouts, perched on top of an old CRT TV from the late 90âsâŠ))
((OOC: I've got a small pile of asks which I can start working my way through, I'm still getting used to actually having an ask blog, and you know, getting asks lmao. So I'm gonna take some cues from what I've seen from other asks blogs and just like, answer asks and get the ball rolling on the plot while I'm at it.))
((OOC: Also I am working on a long response to an ask, would've had it up by now, but I've been a bit tired lately among other things popping up...the unfortunate reality of trying to do things whilst having a small list of health issues. I'm gonna be fine, just need to take things slow.))
Alastor grinned widely, absolutely thrilled by the question.
"Why it's the year 2020!" he gleefully informed Francois. "It's been getting quite crowded down here, even with the-"
"Alastor, I think he's got enough of his plate for now," Callistemon carefully pointed out. "We can fill him in on... current events when he's ready."
She watched the plant-like sinner carefully, sympathy in her eyes as she elaborated. "Things are very different compared to where, and when, you last were. Like I said before, you cooperate and I'll help you however I can., you have my word."
He was silent for a long minute, eyes darting from the concerned Callistemon to an amused Alastor and back again. Maybe this was a trick? After all, they were out in a field somewhere in Pride with zero indication that any of what the pair had told him was true. But Callistemon had been very clear, she doesnât lie. Canât lie, even.
âYou asked what I last remembered,â he began, voice low and words far slower than before. âPerhaps I ought to be more specific. It was late August, 1910. We were in the last stages of a plan to overthrow her. All we needed was more firepower, and we were nearly. . . nearly. . .â
His voice faded away again as he looked back at Alastor.
âYou said before, her closest all vanished as well? So it was technically a success, but without one of us to fill that power void immediately, it would have led to chaos when her rivals realized she was missing. Briervale wouldâve been torn asunder.â
His fingers laced together on the table before him as he let out a slow exhale.
âDoes Pentagram City still exist? We had a plan to regroup there if things went awry. I know it's a long shot, but. . .â His lips curled into a shaky little smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. â. . . I just need to know if someone dear to me made it out okay.â
Partly posted for the sillies, partly because I forgot I was going to share this lol, but these are the relationship names/titles for the blog.
PixelPelt: The ship name for the Callistemon/Vox pairing that has been hinted at throughout this blog! (I did not come up with the name for this one, it was a suggestion in a discord I lurk in.)
RadioFox: The ship name for Alastor/Callistemon... Just don't mention anything to Alastor, man's likely to blow a fuse if he ever catches wind of the mere idea of him and Callistemon being close in any way. (Or do mention it, I do love putting this silly deer in situations.)
Otome!Fox: This ship name is for any silly reverse-harem anime (1 female protag, multiple male romantic interests...Think Ouran High School Host Club, or the Code Realize visual novel series...) shenanigans. Callistemon would make for an excellent anime protagonist and just between us...this silly fox does love visual novels and anime aimed at young women...hence the ship name Otome!Fox. (Hey shipping's fun lol, I'm fairly open-minded when it comes to ships. You guys wanna ship my OC with Alastor, Vox, both? Let me know in an ask, or even pester Callistemon herself about it!)
"So you'll need more meat in your diet and avoid an abundance of vegetation, good to know," Callistemon noted and set down her sppon. She looked thoughtful. "And you're unfamilair with the term creature feature too..."
She was focused, deep in thought as pieces clicked into place. "I had my suspicions but that just seals it, you really are from an earlier point in history."
"Creature Feature is a term that has existed in Hell for decades, first coined in the 1920's," Alastor unhelpfully added. "It made its way into popular vernacular thanks to yours truly during the late 1930's... It is a playful, casual way to refer to the cycles that afflict sinners who have animal-like traits every sixty-six days or so..."
((OOC: Alastor is referring to sometihng mentioned in a lore post I did a while back, and this is your warning that the discussion could turn towards talk of NSFW topics, viewer discretion is advised.)
âAh I suppose something like that. I can still eat what I like for the most part so itâs no trouble really. More of a. . . ah, a preference now I suppose? Hm. . .â
His eyes lit up as Alastor explained the details of the cycle he was all too familiar with.
âOh, oh yes Iâm very well acquainted with. . .â
It was about then that bits of their previous conversation, specifically the part that didnât immediately trigger his fight-or-flight response, wafted back to him.Â
âWait, Sir Alastor, you said Her Majesty vanished twenty years before your arrival in Hell? And youâre clearly very established, and the 1930s. . .â His clawed fingertips drummed against the sides of his bowl while things slowly clicked into place, gaze trained on his own finished meal as his grin became more strained. âA-ah. Yes. This is. . . all wrong, h-haha~!âÂ
His eyes flicked back up, bouncing between both overlords.
âI dread the answer, but. . . what year is it now?â
Like I said before, you cooperate and I'll help you however I can, you have my word."
"Yup, we covered where you're from. I need to know the last thing you remember doing, and anything we need to take into account for your stay with us. Like if creature feature applies to you or any dietary needs you have..." Callistemon rattled off and began to eat. She let out a happy hum at the taste. "This is good."
"Of course it's good, I made it," Alastor looked satisfied at the commentary on his culinary skills. "Glad to see you're both of good taste when it comes to food. Not many appreciate home-cooked meals these days..."
âThe last thing I remember doing. . .?â His lips pursed in thought again. âAh, well, I was finishing a cigar on the balcony of the workshop, and. . .â
His brows drew together for a moment. He was missing something, wasnât he? But what? Think, man, think. . .
âBut, ah. . . Iâm afraid Iâm not familiar with the term creature feature, but I do favor a more er. . . carnivorous diet down here, if that helps any? I believe whatever transformative magic is at work in this terrible afterlife has a sense of humor, as itâs really stressed the lion part of dandelion, haha~!âÂ
His laugh turned into a cheeky little grin as he added, âI suppose itâs better than anything to do with pissenlit, however.â He cleared his throat immediately after the comment, though the amusement at his own little quip was still clear on his face. âAh, please excuse the vulgarity, Madame Callistemon.â
"So you'll need more meat in your diet and avoid an abundance of vegetation, good to know," Callistemon noted and set down her sppon. She looked thoughtful. "And you're unfamilair with the term creature feature too..."

Alastor snickered at the mention of Callistemon being honourable.
"The weather is going to be nasty," Callistemon replied and ignores Alastor. "Shade Storms are when magic from the Dreamscape leaks out into the waking world, and shades accompany them...nasty buggers they are."
She returns to her seat and points to the empty bowl left in the middle of the table. "Help yourself to some food, we've got a barrier up, or at least I'm assuming there's one here."
She shoots Alastor a questioning look.
Alastor rolled his eyes. "Yes dear, I put up a shield whilst you were away. I have no desire to deal with shades..."
"Thank you," she said gratefully and Alastor gestured for her to eat.
"You can get him settled in after lunch. I made this for you after all." he reminded her. "Now both of you, hush and eat before the food gets cold."
âHow curious, so it really is all linked. I wonder, is that the origin of that lovely scream rain phenomenon we have here as well?â
His eyes widened at the offer of food. On one hand there was always a possibility that it was some sort of trick, such as the myth of the persimmon in Hades, but on the other it did smell rather nice, and Callistemon did say he was under her protection as long as he cooperated, sooo. . .
He ambled back toward the table, having been a fair distance away during their tense little chat, and helped himself as directed.Â
âAh, is this venison~?â As soon as the words left his mouth, he noticed the remains beside the cooking area. â--Ah, so it is! Nothing like fresh game, is there? Splendid!â
While he wasnât out of the woods yetâboth of the pair were clearly not to be trifled withâhe couldnât help but wonder about their relationship. Callistemon had called Alastor her companion, but the man was here cooking her lunch and their back-and-forth suggested something closer than companion. More intimate. Huh. . .
Probably not the best idea to immediately pry, but he couldn't help but be just a tad curious.
âAh, so Madame Callistemon, I believe the other half of our er. . . agreement was that I was to tell you all that I know?â
"Yup, we covered where you're from. I need to know the last thing you remember doing, and anything we need to take into account for your stay with us.
