Purgatory. She’d made it. With a loud burst of light, she fell through the entrance landing on the ground with a hard thud. Slowly, she sat up taking a moment to survey her surroundings. So this was it? With a small smirk, she stood up brushing the debris off her dress. This had been a success, now she knew what she had to do. She had to find him, and escape as quickly as she’d arrived.
She’d made such plans. Plans that required his return. Sighing, she took a second to survey her surroundings. Things certainly looked different then she’d imagined they’d be. For she never imagined Purgatory to look like a forest, devoid of any and all color. Of course, she’d heard talk about Purgatory. But never about the look of it.
Knowing she’d best move quickly, she began to walk through the forest. She was as quiet as could be. For she already knew of what creatures inhabited these woods. Leviathan, and numerous others stuck in the void between heaven and hell. Of course, she knew that there were those there whom wished to cause her harm as well. Monsters, that had gotten in her way over the years and possibly others as well. She wasn’t entirely sure.
She’d only stepped about five feet, when she heard rustling in the bushes. Within seconds, what appeared to be a pack of leviathan came rushng at her. “What on-” Quickly she backed u, raising her hands. “Abite!” However, the spell did not work. “What in the hell-” She said nervously, as the group came closer. “Now lads really…Can we not talk about this?” She said backing up nervously.
He knew it was in his best interest to ignore it. Whatever or whomever had decided to thrust themselves into Purgatory’s treacherous waters was deserving of their fate. They came into this world knowing exactly what it was. And if they came unprepared, well, that was their own faults.
H o w e v e r, there was something about this one. A familiar scent. An aura. He KNEW this person. Someone from his past, which, was something that was surprising. As most of the beings he’d come in contact with ended up dead. Or lost in time somewhere. Cain wasn’t KNOWN for having f r i e n d s after all. But this... this woman. This---witch....
It was in that moment that a sigh slipped from his lips. “Of course...” It hadn’t taken much thought to finally come up with an explanation for the familiarity of this witch. He’d come in contact with very few over the years. And those very few had been reduced to one resilient mother of a demon whom he’d had recent contact with.
R O W E N A --- What in the hell is she doing here?
Reluctantly, he rose up, picking up his blade. It wasn’t the one he’d grown accustom to wielding, but the desire for that blade had diminished long ago. Something he was rather curious about, in fact. Something perhaps she could answer. That was, if she survived long enough.
With what could amount to a moment, he was there, watching as the leviathan approached their prey. And, as expected, the g l i m m e r of bright crimson hair caught his eye. But he did not act, not just yet. Instead he leaned against the tree, watching from behind her as they caught glimpse of him, knowing full well they would run, given the chance. But if they decided to be brave, well, he had something to deal with that as well.
