—i was lightning before the thunder.
littlearsenalomega:
Omega had never helped with a piece of technology’s development before. Her optics turning a bright pink she, surprisingly, let go of the hedgehog so she can lean in to the little painted plate in order to get a much better look at it.
“That sounds fun!”
It really did sound like a great change of pace from what she usually did, breaking things, and breaking things hard. Plus it seems like she could learn a lot from these two as well. Excited as she now was there was still one more question.
“When can we get started on all of this?”
{➹} – IN ALL FAIRNESS, the hedgehog hadn't wasted much time leaning in to look at it either, though he didn’t see much to it, which he figured might have been the point. It was a nifty little thing, and something he was going to keep in mind, though he did look back up at the other two Freedom Fighters when the question of time came up.
A glance was exchanged between the three Mobians, each thinking very much the same thing before Tekno smiled and turned back to Omega. Luckily for her, there was nothing else on their agendas and the inventors were excited.
“Right now, actually.”
littlearsenalomega:
“You said experiment so I’m guessing this stuff is new, really new…”
Thinking it over for a few seconds Omega did like the idea of being able to change how her paint job looked whenever she wanted however she wanted. But there had to be downsides to this stuff. There was to everything, right?
“You don’t know how this’ll hold up in the field, do you? And what happens when I get a scratch somewhere, does this stuff just stop working then?”
{➹} – PORKER NODDED AT THAT, seeing no reason to deny the fact. It was far from perfect but it was functional, and that was the important thing. As time went on it would get better, which lead the pig to his next response.
“I d-don't, but it would work no matter what, I t-think. Maybe not against heavy weapons b-but against smaller things it should be j-just fine,” he explained, fiddling with the remote but looking assured. “But if you d-do decide you want t-to use it, we can fix it whenever you w-want and you can tell us how it works and what needs t-to be fixed. You can help us m-make it better until it works for you.”
littlearsenalomega:
The protective shutters on her optics made a loud click at seeing that. She had absolutely no idea what that was or how it worked. But Omega did know one thing.
“I want that.”
Catching herself, she realized that perhaps she was being a bit too hasty. Should at least try to learn more about that stuff, whatever it was, first. It may not even be compatible with her systems without modification.
“Can it do patterns or pictures?”
{➹} – FOR THE FIRST TIME that day, the pig let out a laugh, albeit a slightly abashed one. He wasn’t used to being the center of attention but he thought his little invention might help the robot. Judging from the look on Tekno’s face she thought the same thing, while Sonic looked like he was on the same page as Omega.
“If you w-want it to, yeah,” he explained, reaching out to hand her the panel so she could get a closer look. “Usually it’s controlled by the r-remote but I think we c-can find a way to make it a wireless feature with you. If that’s something you w-want.”
“So she could just think it and make it real?” Tekno asked, the amazement in her voice hard to miss and she laughed giddily when the pig nodded. “Awesome.”
littlearsenalomega:
Omega would still keep her warp ring handy in case they needed any more for parts or whatever reason really. Not like the ones in her collection were doing much beyond collecting dust on her ship after all. It would be good to put them to some actual use.
She was content to just continue sitting there, enjoying her snuggle with Arrow, until the porcine spoke up. Her head now turning to face him the little robot would have quirked a brow if she had one.
“What kind of experiment?”
Hopefully it would not be anything too extreme. But how extreme could paint be she wondered.
{➹} – THE HEDGEHOG HAD ALREADY resigned himself to spending a good few hours sitting there with the little robot, or whatever amount of time she needed to feel better. It had been a busy day for all of them, and a little rest wasn’t going to hurt things. Besides, the hero felt like he had outlived his usefulness for the day, so he didn’t have much else to do. He wasn’t the smart one of the group after all.
Porker, on the other hand, looked enthused by the question, or as excited as the normally shy pig was willing to look. Still, it didn’t stop them from smiling at the question. “I’ll s-show you.”
Even Tekno looked interested to see what he had planned but she didn't look any the wiser when the pig pulled out a small metal panel, about the size of a playing card and painted a rather ugly green, with one hand and held a small remote with the other. It didn’t take long for him to show them what he was getting at, pressing one of the buttons and beaming as the panel’s color completely shifted to a more crimson tone. Another press of the button and it turned black.
It certainly caught Arrow’s attention, even if he didn’t understand it. “Okay, now that’s cool.”
littlearsenalomega:
A few days to focus on something else would be nice, perhaps by the end and she had those upgrades she would be more up to choosing a paint scheme than if she just sat around here doing nothing.
“One time I was able to connect to a spiked ball from an Orbinaut I took down. Using it was fun. But I did not like having to carry my jet booster under my arm. I have a good collection of those badniks, and a few of the other types too. I could bring them here if you need them.”
With her warp ring it would be a simple thing to accomplish. But it would have to wait, she was not about to let the hedgehog out of her grip any time soon it seems.
{➹} – THERE WAS CONFUSION in the room again, this time on Tekno and Porker’s faces when the robot spoke. Orbinaut...that was a new one for them and they both looked to Sonic, hoping that he had a better idea of what Omega was talking about. Luckily, he did.
“The round, ball-looking ‘bot Robotnik built with a bunch of other spiked round things surrounding it.” Okay, it wasn’t the best explanation but it did the trick and the other two nodded in realization right as the hero pulled a thoughtful look. “Actually, we might have one or two in the storage room, alongside all the other trashed badniks we have in there.”
“There’s a whole room full of them, I’m sure we have at least one,” Tekno agreed, turning around to grab a notepad and a pen to start scribbling some things down, just so she could keep track of them. “So, we’ll look into that, and you can think over the paint job in the meantime. Once you have an idea just let us know and it will be the next thing on the list.”
Be it something that the canary had said, or his own mind wandering, something seemed to have just occurred to Porker and he perked up slightly to look between the other three, though mainly the robot. “If you’re n-not sure about colors I, uh, m-might be able to help with that. If you’re o-okay with a little experiment, I mean.”
littlearsenalomega:
“I… don’t really sleep. Not like organics do anyway… I miss sleep.”
Still staying with the hedgehog seemed good enough for her. If anything having him so close would make Omega feel that much safer, after the damage she went through safe was just what she wanted right now.
“I don’t know how feasible they are, I mainly know how to take things apart, not fix or make them. I don’t even know how a lot of my tech works really…”
Letting go of Arrow’s arm she instead placed both of her arms around him, holding him close as her head turned to face the avian.
“I can only have one device gravity linked with me at a time, namely my jet booster. I would like to be able to have more than one device linked at the same time.”
{➹} – NO ONE IN THE ROOM seemed surprised to hear that. Machines didn’t usually sleep after all, sophisticated robot or not, but no one commented on it. Sleep or not, Omega was welcome in the base for however long she needed and judging by the way she clung onto the hedgehog, she wasn’t inclined to move anytime soon.
Smiling down at her with a sympathetic air, he hugged her back but joined her in looking at the canary. While Arrow knew more about machines than he let on, he had no idea what his friend was talking about and looked as clueless and he felt which made Tekno chuckle and give him a reassuring look. She’d handle it from here.
“From what I’ve seen it’ll be doable, it just won’t be very easy,” she started thoughtfully, looking to Porker for confirmation and getting a nod. “And it would take time. I don’t know how soon you wanted it, but we’re talking more than a few hours here. Maybe even a few days.”
“There’d be a lot t-to do,” Porker added, looking between the hedgehog and the robot. “We’d be happy to do it b-but like Tekno said, we’d need some time, and a b-basic idea of what other devices you were looking t-to use.”
littlearsenalomega:
Omega used one hand to hold onto the hedgehog’s arm, in order to keep his hand right on top of her flat yellow head, while she used the other to wave goodbye to the echidna as he made his exit from the base. Hopefully he would not even think of attempting to go where she had gone.
“A… a place to unwind would be good.”
Relaxing around here would give her the time to process everything. Perhaps by then she would be feeling more up to deciding on a paint job, there certainly were a lot of factors to take into consideration. Though now she was wondering about something else.
“…Could I have more than just a paint job? I have some ideas.”
{➹} – THE HERO DIDN’T BOTHER moving his hand once the little robot made it clear she didn’t want him to. If it helped to relax and feel a little better than it was a well-suited effort. using his other hand to wave goodbye to his brother, it didn’t take long for Arrow to look back to his other two teammates, still hard at work cleaning up, or to Omega when she spoke.
“There’s plenty of places here where you can take it easy for a little bit,” he told her, gesturing to the door that led out into the hallway of the base. “There’s even a few rooms down the way, if you want some peace and quiet while the rest of us work.”
“Or you could even sleep in Sonic’s office. You know, if you don’t want to be too far from him in case you need somethin’,” Tekno quipped, chuckling at the look the hedgehog gave her. He didn’t think of his room as an ‘office’ per se, but his teammates loved proving it to be otherwise. “What else were you thinking about, though?”
theislandkeeper-a:
littlearsenalomega:
Understanding where the hedgehog was coming from Omega ran a self-diagnostic… and then another one, and then even a third check after that. Everything checked out fine, somethings even better than fine, but despite that and the fact she’s been fully charged she still felt drained.
“I’m not organic but after all of that I feel like I need a week of sleep… and naked, I feel naked. Which is very weird, even back when I was organic for a short time I never felt that way.”
At that she just plopped right down onto the floor. Sitting there looking despondent Omega really felt like this body could not come anywhere close to adequately displaying how she was feeling. The only look she could really pull off was angry.
“And now I have to choose a paint job, I’ve never chosen a paint job for myself before. I don’t know if I can handle dealing with that kind of choice right now. I want a break before doing anything.”
Knuckles blinked at the canary’s gesture but he knew he probably deserved it for doubted her and Porker. They had been chosen for a reason and today PROVED that. It didn’t stop him from glaring at her but it wasn’t serious and he joined Sonic next to the little robot, looking them over obviously impressed with the work that had been done.
After everything the day had thrown at them, Omega mostly, Knuckles could understand the need for a nap, or a few days of sleep at LEAST. He didn’t know how that worked with robots but he wasn’t going to question it too much. It had been a hell of a day, that much none of them could argue but there were still a few things to do.
“They don’t have to do it right now, right?” The question was asked mostly to Sonic before he turned back to the machine. A paint job was definitely needed, but he didn’t see why it had to be done right now. “It would give you some time to think about it but it’s not going to help the…naked thing.”
Those were words the echidna never thought he would have to say and he felt awkward doing so, shaking his head. “If you are going to take some time, since I can’t help with anything anymore, I should probably get going. Someone has to make sure there’s not a hole burning through the island.”
{➹} – ARROW COULD UNDERSTAND all of that, it had been a busy day for all of them but much more so for Megs. Robot or not, anyone would need a break after that. It was a sympathetic smile that came over the hero’s face when the robot plopped down, a bare hand coming to rest on the little robot’s head reassuringly, though the hedgehog looked at Knuckles while he spoke.
“We don’t have t’ do anything right now. She can take all the time she needs.” From somewhere behind the trio there was a sound of agreement from the canary and pig, still busy clearing the mess. “We’re not going anywhere for a while anyway, and you’re welcome t’ stay, Kiddo.”
That was one thing Megs wouldn’t need to worry about, she was more than welcome to stay for however long she needed. There was always someone in the base, and usually that person was the accented hedgehog so if she had any questions she wouldn’t need to look far to get them. As for Knuckles, the hedgehog gave a small nod, though it came with an inkling of warning as well. He just knew the very first thing the echidna was going to do was go back to the lake.
“Even if there is, maybe don’t follow in her footsteps, yeah?” The hero inclined his head towards Megs, mostly in a joking manner but it faded into something more earnest a moment later. “When you get there, call The Doc’, he should be able t’ help just in case something else goes wrong.”
theislandkeeper-a:
littlearsenalomega:
This all gave Omega plenty to think about as they worked to repair her. Perhaps that was for the best, as she was so focused on that everything else seemed to go by in a flash. She did not even noticed that her hearing was back until the mention of a paint job. How a robot could even manage something like that was truly a mystery for the ages.
“Paint job?”
“Oh, voice is back.”
Now that she was thinking about it, Omega certainly felt very strange without any paint. Perhaps this was what organics meant by feeling naked. At first she was planning on just going with the same paint job she had before. But then the realization that she could have any kind of paint job she wanted dawned on her. The amount of choices she thought up was… intimidating.
“Could I have some time to think about that?”
Tekno had a point so Knuckles gave up and went back to minding his own business as the smart ones worked. He decided that it was better he stay out of the way, or say much of anything ELSE since he clearly didn’t know what was going on and couldn’t help past any heavy lifted the other two might have needed.
The echidna had his doubts but even he would say that he was impressed when things started falling in line hours later, and he was convinced he owned the bird and pig some kind of APOLOGY when the little machine spoke again.
“I’ll be damned…”
As far as the echidna could tell it seemed that everything was back to normal, minus the fact Omega looked like a brushed nickel at the moment but at least they were WORKING.
Looking from the robot, to the hedgehog and then the pig and canary he raised a brow. “So is that it? Everything’s okay?
{➹} – THE BIRD AND PIG looked just as relieved when everything started working again and, with the main job done, Porker started to clean up the extensive mess the last few hours had created while Tekno gave the small machine a last look over. It didn’t take long for the canary to nod in satisfaction before giving said robot a smile.
“Take all the time you need. We’ll be around.”
With that she, very much on purpose, stuck her tongue out at Knuckles before announcing that all was okay now and going to help Porker straighten up the workshop. That much got a chuckle, both amused and relieved that things were alright, from the hedgehog before he made his way over to Megs, looking her over himself before smiling.
“How are you feeling, Kiddo?” It never hurt to double-check, right? Though a small frown did pass over Arrow’s face as he got a good look at his friend, the lack of paint as interesting as it was bothersome. “Y’know, other than a little...dull.”
theislandkeeper-a:
littlearsenalomega:
Feeling very thankful for the paper and pen she began to write something out, but stopped mid word. Looking back up her head slowly swiveled around, before her attention returned to the sheets. Moving the top sheet off to the side she quickly wrote out a new message on the one below it, handing it over to the avian. It simply saying that Omega’s hearing has just quit working as well so they’ll have to write out messages to her until that got fixed.
Returning back to the top sheet she quickly finished that note and handed this one over to Porker. It simply asked if the unknown drive was already disconnected when it was removed or if they had to unplug it their self first.
Her handwriting, while quite far from the best, was perfectly legible thankfully. Though most would wonder if it was as bad as it was normally or if it was due to the damage effecting her. Perhaps they’ll find out later.
Knuckles’ eyes were fixed on the robot, or the papers in her hands rather. Although he found that trying to read upside down, since he was standing in front of her, was a DIFFICULT thing to do so he just decided to wait until someone else read or had whatever she wrote to save himself the headache.
Once Tekno had one of the papers he leaned over just enough to read it and let out a small groan. If it wasn’t one thing, it was another. Looking to the two technical genius, he raised a brow. “I thought you two were supposed to be fixing things, why are they getting worse?”
Of course it was easy for him to talk since he wasn’t doing anything and COULDN’T do anything as far as he knew but he felt like the question was valid.
{➹} – A GLANCE was exchanged between the three main Freedom Fighters once Tekno had read the note out loud, one that was worried and more than just a little confused. The latter part, however, quickly turned into irritation on the canary’s part at Knuckles’ question as she turned to give him a not so friendly look. She didn’t take well to people questioning her skills.
“It’s not that easy, you know. Look what that gunk did to the outside of her, do you really think the inside is any better?” She didn’t even wait for him to answer before grabbing a piece of paper and scribbling out a note. Her’s merely said that she understood what the little robot was getting at and that they’d be doing their best to fix what they could.
As for Porker, he read his note without reiterating it to the others and simply wrote back that the drive was, indeed, disconnected when they found it. From there it didn’t seem like anyone was in the mood to talk while the avian and pig got back to work, filling the next few hours with metallic clanks, sparking wires and various other things while the hedgehog and echidna watched on.
Now, if Sonic was going to be honest, he really didn’t expect the other two to accomplish much. After all this was a rather abrupt project and on a robot that they hadn’t seen beforehand, for all he knew the way Megs was built could have been completely different than what they were used to. The most he had hoped for was that they would find a way to keep her running and stop her from utterly crashing, a thought that made the hero’s heart drop, but it seemed he might have underestimated them.
It was only a matter of time before the pair had fixed one thing, then another, and another until it seemed that the little robot was back to normal. Well, for the most part. There was still one very obvious thing ‘wrong’ and Tekno was quick to point it out as Porker finished tightening the last few screws.
“That should do it. All that’s really left, if she wants it, is a new coat of paint.”
kokorothehuntedhybrid:
She slowly calms down after hearing his words and after a few more minutes of crying she got to the point where she can finally tell him what her mother wanted her to remember. She carefully pulls away from him and wipes her eyes on her sleeve before looking back at her mother’s grave.
“She wanted me to remember what her last words were… I never forgot them….” She reaches and gently places a hand on the gravestone before continuing. “She managed to hang on after the hunters left and told me these words…. "Live on… Grow up strong and one day free our people… I love you my shina…” Her name was Shina but she used to call me her “shina” because that word means “treasure” in her native language.“
The hybrid gently smiles before turning her attention back to him and she reaches into a couple of pockets in her jacket. She pulls out some packaged gauze and a small bottle of hydrogen peroxide to try to treat his wound she gave him. She opens the package, pulls out a single gauze, opens the bottle of peroxide, and pours a bit of the peroxide onto the gauze.
Carefully taking his arm with an open hand she gets the soaked gauze close to the wound but not touching it. "This is going to sting but it is sadly all I have right now to treat it.” Her ears raised a bit before speaking about the wound but then they lowered again. “I shouldn’t have slipped up and allowed that part of me take over….” She lowered her hand with the gauze for a moment but then she regains most of her composure and started to clean the wound, making sure to try to make the process as painless as she can.
{➹} – REALIZATION HIT the hedgehog once the hybrid spoke and put her hand on the stone they were sat near and he too looked at the grave before frowning. He couldn’t help but feel a pull at his heartstrings at the sight, and knowing that it was here that Kokoro had run to after a terrible day somehow made it that much worse. She didn’t deserve to go through any of what she had; not even a little.
Turning back towards the other, it didn’t take long for a faint smile to make it’s way to the hero’s lips after hearing the words. Treasure...yeah, somehow that name fit perfectly in his mind. Kokoro was one of a kind, and in the best way.
“It makes sense, y’know,” he told her, that smile growing yet still soft as his tone followed suit. “Just because some people got it int’ their heads that you’re some kind of menace, which isn’t true, doesn’t mean you aren’t special. I think your mom realized that early on, an’ it’s still true today.”
And it always would be as far as the hero was concerned but, rather than point that much out, his attention was drawn to the items the hybrid pulled out. It was on the very tip of his tongue to say that she didn’t need to bother, that he would be fine, but he bit down on the idea. Maybe it would help her feel better about what had happened.
Although he didn’t look all that thrilled when the gauze got close to that wound and, perhaps, even less so when he saw her ears lower again. It made him lay a hand on hers reassuringly, avoiding the gauze as he did so. “It couldn’t be helped. Let’s just be happy this is all that happened, yeah?”
Things could have been worse, but all things considered they had gotten away just fine. Something he had to remind himself of when Kokoro started cleaning the cuts, drawing a hiss but, luckily. nothing more from the hero.
theislandkeeper:
littlearsenalomega:
“No,̀ ̡i̡t d͠o-͘”́
A horrible sounding krack came from the robot and her voice completely shut off. There was not even the hum or hiss made by a speaker being powered on but unused. Normally she would have thrown a fit, perhaps even trashed the place a little in her anger, but there was very little she could do in her current state. So she slunk back to the spot they had her standing in as they worked on repairing her.
Getting an idea she held out one hand flat. Using the other she pretended to hold something between her thumb and index finger, moving the imaginary whatever it was across her other hand’s palm. Hopefully at least one of them would understand her little charade.
The cracking sound made the echidna flinch, the volume too high for his taste, and he frowned realized they now had a bigger problem. If the robot couldn’t talk, how the hell were they supposed to figure out what was wrong with her? Or what she needed? Tekno and Porker were skilled, but were they _THAT _proficient?
The problem was self-correcting, he realized after the machine’s little gesture. Knuckles wasn’t the smartest one in the room but he got _WHAT _she was asking for and picked up some of the papers he and Sonic had been looking through. They were the unimportant ones and, after some searching, he found a pen and handed all of it to the little robot.
Now they just had to _HOPE _that she was able to write without an arm falling off as well.
{➹} – THE NOISE even made the hedgehog, canary and pig wince before they all exchanged worried looks and the latter pair got back to work. Cleaning the little robot out was the first thing they had to focus on, but the next would be that speaker. They couldn’t do much of anything if she couldn’t tell them what was wrong plus it would be nice to have her opinion before they did anything she wouldn’t like.
Luckily they had a temporary work around as Knuckles handed her some paper and something to write with. Simple, but effective. Provided the little robot’s handwritten was legible after everything that had happened today.
“If that’s not yours, where could it have come from?” Sonic was just as curious about the drive as everyone else, though he wasn’t entirely sure he was going to like the answer he might get considering who had built Megs in the first place.
thewayfaringmechanic:
Walking back over to the hedgehog he placed a hand on their shoulder. Though he turned his head back to take one last look at the spot they used to stay all those years ago.
“Let’s go then, it’ll be faster if you carry me back to the Tornado.”
Even if Knuckles was back on the island the first thing he was going to do was take a shower. Not only could he still detect a hint of whatever it was stinking up that cave within his fur, despite the brief time he was in the smelliest part of the cave, he really just wanted wash himself of this place.
“We’ve spent more time here than I wanted already.”
{➹} – THE HAND on his shoulder, while a welcomed gesture, reminded the hero just how much the fox had grown, and not just in a mental sense. Yet, it brought a smile to the hero’s face, knowing that they were both lucky to be standing there in the first place. Fate was a funny thing, but it seemed to be on their side when they really needed it.
Nodding, both in understanding and agreement with the fox’s words, the hedgehog effortlessly scooped Miles up and, after securing the other (just in case) took off back towards the area they had landed in. He was far too glad to leave that village, and the zone itself, behind. It felt like there was an everlasting ick on his fur that would take weeks to wash off.
At least the trip hadn’t been entirely for nothing. It had seemed to help the fox a little bit, and that was what was important. Still, as the two of them arrived at The Tornado and got ready to take off again, he was glad he wouldn’t have to go back to Emerald Hill anytime soon. Miles was right, they had spent more than enough time there, enough to last the hedgehog a few good years.
In fact, he hardly spared it a backwards glance as they ascended, his sights fully set on getting back to Angel Island and putting the whole day behind them. Hopefully, there wouldn’t be bad news waiting for them when they got there.
| END
thewayfaringmechanic:
“To think, everything that happened just because you had a lapse in thought for a few moments.”
If the hedgehog had been watching where he was flying Miles very likely could have never gotten off of this godforsaken island… or worse. In truth he was thankful for the day he met and what lead up to it, but that strange anger he felt made it difficult for him to actually just say it. Which in turn made him even more angry inside. Something was seriously wrong with him and he needed to get it fixed fast.
“If that’s everything I think I’m ready to head back to Angel Island. Maybe Knuckles is back with those results.”
{➹} – TO THAT, the hedgehog chuckled. Miles was right, after all, it had been a single event, one momentary lapse, that had led to them meeting in the first place. If it hadn’t been for the hero being lost in his own head, things would have been very different for the two of them. Different, and Sonic was willing to bet everything he owned that things would have also been worse.
Not that things ended up terribly well over the years anyway but, compared to what he thought would have happened, it was still better. Regardless, that was all in the past and the hedgehog was actually glad the two of them had gone on their little trip. Miles had needed it, and the hero had liked learning that the fox could be around him for more than a few minutes without snapping at him. Overall, he thought it was progress.
“Hey, I’m not complaining about it. Whether you believe me or not, Kid, I’m glad I met you.” His words were earnest, a smile on his muzzle as he flashed a wink to the fox. “Now let’s get out of here. I think we’ve gotten all that we can from this place.”
thewayfaringmechanic:
“That explains the haze I’m remembering, some of it anyway.”
Even if he wasn’t having his current memory issues he’d probably still be having trouble remembering a lot of the specifics about their time spent here because of that. What he remembered the most was how cold he felt, as well as the shakes, not to mention how many times he lost his lunch. Nothing really helpful unless he wanted to feel like losing his lunch again.
“Did the parts just break or did some local steal them?”
{➹} – IT HADN’T BEEN a high point in the fox’s life, or the hedgehog’s. Given that Sonic had hardly known how to take care of himself, trying to help the sick, emaciated fox back then had been a herculean effort that had taken around the clock effort which was in no way helped by the villagers’ refusal to lend a hand.
Just one more reason the hero hated that place and he shook his head before looking back at Miles at the question. “They just broke. I did crash land here, after all. Even The Tornado couldn’t have gotten away from that without a few problems. Plus there's the fact ‘s not exactly the newest plane out there.”
If Mobius had one thing to be proud of, it was its advancements in technology and everything related to it. Which was great, in the grand scheme of things, but not so much if one was like the hero had tended to stick to old technology that he knew.
thewayfaringmechanic:
At least this place was not completely covered in trash. Sure, there were a few empty bottles and bits of plastic here and there, but it didn’t look like the locals had used this place for a landfill. That and the fresh smelling sea breeze made him feel a little bit better.
“Yeah… YEAH, I remember the Tornado being parked here.”
”Did, did we really spend a whole year here? This close to these assholes? Just what was going on back then?”
{➹} – SINCE THE CAVE hadn't looked the best despite its rather remote location, Sonic expected that part of the beach to look worse in all honesty. He was glad at least one place was spared from the villager's irresponsibility, and gladder still that it sparked some memory for the fox.
"Just about, yeah," the hedgehog replied after some quick calculations, looking over the area with slight melancholy. "We didn't really have a choice in the matter. The Tornado wasn't running an' I had t' search for parts before we could even get it t' turn over again, then you got sick and there was no way I was just going t' leave you like that."
