Landing in Emerald Hill after what felt like years up in the air, a number of workers rushed into the cargo hold of the Rogues’ ship, and began transporting the fox’s little project to his lab. He’ll need the facilities there to truly bring out its full potential. Of course he stopped and took a moment to wave goodbye to the avian trio as they took back to the skies.
Now Miles did not notice the dark furred ‘hedgehog’ that had silently crept up on him as he did that. So when he turned around and bumped right into them he could not help but jump almost right out of his socks.
“Dammit Mel, I told you not to get that close!”
As they sheepishly took a few steps back away from him, Miles could not help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation and just who he was in it with. But he was quick to stop that when Mel turned their back to him. He knew exactly what that meant.
“Hey, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have yelled, you’re still learning after all.”
Placing a reassuring hand down onto the ‘hedgehog’s’ shoulder, a little positive coaxing was all it took to get them to at least turn their head back again. Miles would take it.
”Has there been any change in the readings since I’ve been gone?”
While it was not exactly speech, the answer that Mel gave the fox told more than enough to make him worry.
“That bad huh? I’m gonna need your help to have a chance of getting this done in time.”
“Gonna trust you, like how you trusted me when I fixed ya up. Can I count on you, Mel?”
