"Can I get you something?" You heard the blond flight attendant ask Piero. The way she looked at him, you were surprised she didn't say "Coffee, tea, or me?"
He glanced toward her. "Yeah, sure. I'll have a sparkling water and a couple bags of peanuts."
She reached in her pocket and handed him two bags of peanuts and then his bottle. "Here you go."
"Thanks," he told her, shoving one of the bags in the pouch in front of him. He then ripped open the other bag, poured some of the peanuts in his palm and held it out to his gorgeous seatmate. "Here, have some of my nuts."
Nervous laughter spouted out of her, kind of embarrassed, but you could see she was considering trying his nuts.
"Come on, you know you want to try my nuts." He continued to hold out his palm, with that cheeky smile of him.
Aha! He was so trying to be dirty. That made you laugh inside so hard that you almost spilled the wine the flight attendant had just gotten you.
"Oh, no, that's where you're wrong. My mother taught me never to take food from a guy I don't know," she replied, half-naively, half-flirting back.
Emptying all the peanuts into his palm, he crumpled the empty bag and shoved that into the pouch, too. You hated when people put their trash there, but that didn't bother you right now because you were too interested in watching them.
Unexpectedly, he pinched one of the peanuts and lifted it. "It's 'don't take candy from strangers'."
There was obviously a hush in the air, and it was clear that she was taking a moment to find her breath. "Right. That's the saying."
His hand moved closer to her lips. "First of all, this isn't candy, it's protein, and I doubt your mother ever told you not to eat protein."
"And secondly, we're not strangers. We're seatmates. I don't know who you think I am, but I wouldn't offer my nuts to just anyone."
You muffled the laughter roaring out of you. So shamelessly blatant!
With his smirk in place, he was determined to get her to eat that peanut and moved his fingers even closer. "Come on, try it. You know you want to."
As shocking as it seemed, she found herself opening for him, and he dropped the capsule of protein right on her tongue. For one brief second you imagined her taking his hand and holding it to her mouth so she could lick the salt off his fingers.
Oh, jeez, what is wrong with me? Last night must have gotten me more worked up than I realized.
