Of course I've read all three books and I loved them! The author is great and I love her other works, so when I saw a show I was very excited! I did finish the show and plan to watch season 3 when it releases, which should be soon! I did really enjoy it but a couple things threw me off. So, if you've read the books you know Stanley is very important to the plot. He starts off being a journalist who Pip definitely doesn't like, and by the end of his story he's someone pip tries to desperately save. He's an important character because 1. He's the reason conner asked pip to help findJamie 2. He's the reason Charlie, pips neighbor, moves there and eventually killed Stanley. 3. He's the reason in the 3rd book pip has changed a lot, shes traumatized and has ptsd. If you read the third book you know this leads to some other heavy stuff as well, and he's just ultimately someone who impacted the story and Pips life. In the show they make him a security guard who pip has no feeling toward, no hatred or liking, he's barely shown, so to me when we found out he's child Brunswick there wasn't enough emotion. When I had first read the scene I was really focused and it actually made me pay attention and feel a bit, even just described. But in the show it was just kinda like "oh no. Oh wow, crazy. Ok moving on". Pip truing to save him was still a good scene, but also she didnt know him that much, and to md it just didnt add up enough as it did in the books. the show is still good, yes, but there is some things they changed that I really don't filly understand why, because it really serves to the third book and is extremely important, so it doesn't even help to change details like that. Im still going to watch the third season (and still think you should consider watching it), but I definitely think that will bug some a bit and I feel ifs strange they changed something so important? If you are just a fan on the show please read the books, its a bit hard to get through for some in the beginning but it's so good! Also the authors other books, Holly Jackson is a really good writer imo! Anyways, softy for my poor grammar, abbreviations, and all that stuff. I Sorta lost track of what I was saying but I hope you get my main point, I really haven't seen many mention it.
Side note, if you do like that book series please consider reading Five survive and The reappearance of rachel price!!! They are both by the same author (Holly jackson)! And they aren't a series, so if you just want to read a book I really suggest those! Maybe they will be next to get turned into a series (not for a while i assume though) !! Okay baiiii
