Experiencing burnout in an area you love doesnāt mean you are no longer passionate about that thing, or are any less good at it. Itās often an indication that there are other parts of your life that need your care. A garden looks most beautiful when every flower is watered, and you deserve to nourish yourself in the same way. You will flourish again.
studying doesnāt have to be highlighters and a warm cup of coffee with sunlight shining through the window. it can be frantic reading, writing notes on scrap paper on a desk that barely fits your textbook because goddamn you just need to get this done is all.
studying isnāt an aesthetic, itās learning. donāt let this fandom make you think otherwise.
some (real) study essentials
- a plan, even if itās a small one
- snacks and a drink bottle
- a clear desk
- breaks
- a clear mindset (try meditating, journaling, or go for a walk)
- some music (if youāre into that)
studying these days can be hard, but we donāt have to make it even harder for ourselves. find what works best for you, and go ahead! you just need yourself and your brain. relax. you can do it!Ā ā”

being productive is not about fancy bullet journals or well-thought out plans or meditating every morning!! while they mean well, posts/videos aboutĀ āmaximisingā productivity often make us feel inadequate, or like if weāre not doing our best then weāre not doing enough. donāt complicate things. itās OKAY to just have one or two tasks on your to-do list, to study in your pyjamas, to only feel up to doing a couple hours of work a day. you donāt have to make green smoothies or have neat handwriting or workout every morning. scribble those notes if you need to. itās okay to just grab some toast when you donāt feel up to much. itās okay to not do everything you told yourself you would do, like that run you planned or reading that book. life doesnāt have to be this hard. if you get overwhelmed by this, set yourself a small list of achievableĀ goals for the day. it may seem simple. good. thatās what you need. donāt beat yourself up for not being perfect. you are okay.
