Do dogs feel love when you kiss them?
So you've brought your new pet dog home - a cute little pup whose energetic personality is definitely 'dog' like. Well before you get too excited about this new addition to your family, you need to ask yourself: Does my pet dog feel love when I kiss it? The answer to that question will, of course, depend on the individual dog.
The dog belongs to the pack of cards, also known as wild canids. It is very closely related to the wolf, and is currently the most common terrestrial carnivores. Dogs in the canine family have evolved over millions of years from their ancestor that walked upright. Much of what they today are today was gained through natural selection through the process of gene manipulation.
All domesticated dogs can be traced back to wolves. Wolves in particular have long been domesticated for their appetites, intelligence and playfulness. A lot of what sets dogs apart from other animals is their sense of play. This sense makes dogs capable of affection for humans even when they are technically on a leash. Do dogs feel love when you kiss them?
In many ways, all dogs crave to be loved. In fact, they have been domesticated for such a long time because they require love, attention and affection. Canine love is similar to that felt by humans, although unlike us, dogs can't respond physically to our emotions - they cannot tell if we are happy or sad.
That said, all dogs have the capacity to bond with humans. How do they do this? Well, dogs are pack animals, and they function best when in a cohesive pack. One of the primary roles of a pet dog is to guard the flock, keeping the rest of the pack safe from harm. In order to function this way, dogs need constant reassurance of their safety and their position in the pecking order. A pet dog acts as an individualistic first class guard dog.
Dogs in the wild also live in packs. In fact, a study of how coyotes function in the wild has revealed many similarities between how pet dogs and wild dogs behave. In both cases, a pet dog will stand guard over its owner, protecting the owner at all times. A wild animal can sense its owner's fear and will try and get close to him or her in an attempt to dominate and protect itself.
Another way that a pet dog can help us is through its bond with the owner. Pet dogs have a special connection to their owner and they want to make sure the owner is well-protected and secure. This is why pet dogs will often go out of their way to make the owner feel secure - they will fetch newspapers and bring back the mail, take the dog for a walk, or bring the dog to the vet. If a pet dog continues to do these things then it shows the owner that he or she is important and that his or her safety is really important.
But a bond with pets isn't just for guarding - they also have a strong bond with their companions. They will often follow their companions out of instinct. They will sit with you on the sofa or on your lap and they will snuggle up to you as if they are still part of the family. And when you purchase a pet dog, you will be making a lifelong friend out of your pet dog.
Pet dogs can sense when someone is lonely or sad. They can also sense when something is wrong with the owner. So it's important to be sure to create the right type of atmosphere when bringing home your new pet. Keep the room warm and let people know that your dog is there. Don't keep your dog alone in the house at all times, but don't leave him or her alone for days on end either. Give your dog enough time to get acquainted with the new place where it will be living.
If you're going to let your dog stay alone, make sure that you are taking good care of him or her. Keep them healthy by feeding them the proper diet. Regular visits to the vet are also important. Your dog can contract some very bad diseases such as rabies and distemper if it is not properly cared for. Your pet dog should always be checked out and treated right away if it shows any signs of illness or if you suspect he or she has something harmful.
Having a pet dog is a very rewarding experience for many people. It allows them to be around another living being. They get to be the one person in the house who is responsible for everything the pet dog does. The dog will learn to obey only from you.
