Labour Leadership

I’m reading that Jeremy Corbyn is being lambasted because he is going back to the Labour fundamentals.

 Is that wrong then?

The Labour Party have lost the last couple of elections, even though they’ve had leaders from the ‘right’. What makes the left wrong?

Since the warmongering Blair was ousted, the party has not had a proper leader.

To hear Blair spout his ‘wisdom’ regarding the leadership contest, is contemptible

Why is it, that a party, like Labour, should think that it should be a mini-me conservative party to win an election?

I listen to the other candidates, saying they should be an electable party. Okay, I see where they’re coming from! Is that the be all and end all? Surely principles should play a part.

The British electorate need to wake up!!! Think for yourselves, or just keep listening to your politician. They’ll put you right. No, you don’t really believe that, surely?? 

Yes, Margret Thatcher has quite a bit to answer for. It was great for some of us to buy our council houses, at a very reduced rate. It was all about the here and now! Vote catching!

 We are now in a situation, whereby, our kids and their kids, will find it difficult to find housing. We used to have ‘council houses’ there are not many about now! (only self proclaimed ‘Tories’ owning council houses). What do people, that are not very academic do? Yes, there are some about, what do they do? We’re reading about, and seeing on the news, that people are buying, (under the right to buy) and then renting out at exorbitant rents. Free enterprise? More like ‘Schadenfreude’ 

Immigration, (am I a racist?). Here we are, doing what we can for displaced people, quite right to. Here, youngsters born and brought up here, (hmm, I guess I am a racist) being put back behind, well we all know, don’t we. We are not, really, allowed to speak up for US!) having problems getting, jobs (unless they accept below minimum wage), and housing! (unless they sound foreign, no chance) !!!!

Schooling, Housing, Jobs.

No!!! I could go on!!!!

I will be seen as my blog title suggests, a grumpy old man. I suppose, yes I am. There’ll be a lot more with the same name as me before long.

Where am I going with this?   I don’t know either.

All I want is for people to think for themselves. Not be drag into an area they’re not comfortable with .

There, a I’ve grumbled. I feel better.

Cilla

Very sad news regarding the departure from this world of Cilla Black. I feel privileged to have grown up with her, and others, music from her earliest days. She was a great singer, she had some great songs to sing. I never got to meet her, I only know from what people who did know her, have said. A funny and very caring person. I'll be honest, I wasn't a great fan of hers as a presenter, but when she sang, brilliant!!! I'll always remember Cilla Black the singer R.I.P.

Getting through Calais, or not!

I’m reading in the papers that holidaymakers are having all sorts of problems trying to return because of the immigrants, that are currently causing chaos at the channel ports. I also read that the French are to blame! They can’t stop them rushing the Tunnel and ports!!! Isn’t there a case for the governments conerned to look into the root, of why people from Africa are wanting to enter the British Isles? Who said the streets are paved with gold? Who is encouraging them whilst at the same time boosting their bank balance? There are many people, I’m sure taking exorbitant amounts of money from these Africans and telling them they’ll be able to get it back by coming here, schadenfreude! !! Theses poor people are dying to get in this country, quite literally. This will never end unless everyone, English and French governments along with African countries governments start putting their houses in order. There’s a need to dedicate a lot of attention towards stopping these nefarious ‘gangsters ’ living off the misery of the less fortunate.

Getting through Calais, or not!

Gave up the bike!!!

After approximately 50 years of cycling on the road , I’ve finally hung up my cleated cycling shoes due to the intolerant road users, drivers, cyclists and pedestrians alike. Throughout my working life I cycled to and from work, 30 miles per working day. I finally retired and thought I would now like to travel random routes after ploughing a track along, more or less, the same roads for many years. Great!!! A car driver had other ideas! Not content with going round me, the driver went through me. The first time ever I was knock off my beloved bike. I must say I have fallen off many a time due to my own lack of control. My family have forbidden me from road cycling, understandably, much to my great disappointment.

Whilst recovering from the few injuries I received, my fitness has waned and rendered it difficult to regain the momentum and the inclination to resume riding albeit in an off road capacity. The mind is now being a burden in that regard. Over the years of cycling, I noticed a great change in peoples attitude to each other as road users. Each road user feels it is their right to not be impeded, the driver by the cyclist, the cyclist by rules ie: traffic lights and pedestrian crossings. Drivers ought to be aware that they possess a very dangerous weapon and cyclists should equally be aware that their actions can result in dangerous situations for ALL road users. This situation will get worse unless all road users and road designers come together for the common good. Yes it’s a small country, with small roads for everyone to share, all the more reason for each and every road user to be more tolerant towards each other.

The Beginning.

I will now be able to bore the pants off anyone that s-tumblr-s upon these er,,,, blogs.

They may be full of inane comments regarding life as I see it. The changes that I’ve lived and living through, good or bad.

Silly observations and my own interpretations of what I see could also appear time to time. I’m not a writer, I’m just an observer.

I was walking into town whilst it was raining. I walked with my head down and to one side because of the rain. Do birds fly with their head down and to one side too??

Why aren’t people that live in Paris called Parisites??  

That’ll do for a start.
