Made it! My artwork has officially been submitted and registered. And it seems... Small... 😁 Size doesn't matter, right? Results in July - and no matter what, this has been a fantastic experience. I would love to try every year.

She is pure magic. She loves the Sea, Colour, The Mystical and is the happiest, most glowing child I have ever set eyes upon. Her eyes sparkle and her smile sings.

YuuMii WorkShop : Lesson 5

Cartoon Character Development

This was first class in our 4 week Comic/Cartooning series. 

WOW! What a result. The warm-up activity was a hit!  The Stage 1 kids were filling in circles with as many funny faces as they could. The Stage 2 & 3 children had some inspirational help with the printout I had created to understand proportion manipulations, and the diversity of the human (or maybe not so human) face. 

WHAT A LAUGH! We made up stories about each character, as they were being drawn. Open critiques were happening, discussion of worlds they might inhabit and places and situations the characters would be in for the comics we will later create… I was in heaven. 

Best class EVER.

My children have not stopped ‘tooning. we have comic storyline discussions throughout the day. We have drawn, and redrawn characters…. 

I can hardly wait to print our final ‘Zine to sell at the NBHE Fair on June 30th!

I was absolutely delighted to have been selected for the workshop “Saltwater Country” Artist Creative Workshop, with Aboriginal Artist Megan Cope. 

Megan is a Quandamooka woman from North Stradbroke Island in S.E Queensland. Works by Cope have been presented in Australia and abroad.

Dear Julija,

Congratulations on being selected for the Saltwater Country Artists' Creative Workshop to be held at Manly Art Gallery & Museum on Friday 24 April 2015. Attached is the running order for the day. (Please note, activities may be subject to change depending on further research, site visit and/or weather.) We will provide lunch and art materials - Please advise me of any dietary requirements.

Please arrive at the Gallery at 9.30am for refreshments, introductions and welcome by artist Megan Cope and myself.

I was moved by the idea’s Megan brought to the table, so much so that I submitted a piece for the Glen Sculptural Exhibit, coming in June. Fingers crossed!
