Some of the little dolls I made are of people I keep praying to have better times. But it's not a wish. Too much trouble with wishes.

And the other is of a cat god who helped me, even if she's a bit of an annoyance at times.

It's funny. I never thought myself religious and yet. I've been a god, a demon, and I make prayers daily to a different god and some effegies.

It seems that Opal was already preparing a few things. A tiny bottle, some formula. Star stands ever vigilant, though it's clear they had just run out from the bags in the kitchen.

"It's okay Vanitas. Here, first let's warm up the baby." Warm blankets, she must have put them in the dryer. Gently she brings them under Vanitas's hands.

"And then... oh boy this one's so young... You're going to need to feed it every two hours okay? At least for a few weeks."

He blinked up at Opal. "Feed? Feed it what? What do living creatures eat?"

He let the kitten fall into the blankets and instead moved to hold them. He didn't mind the act of feeding the kitten. It's not like he slept much anyways.

Then his eyes glanced over at the formula.

"Is that it?"

"This living creature is supposed to drink milk from their mother. But since you didn't bring two cats, likely this one was... Left behind."

There's a pause, but Opal quickly gathers herself back to offer the little formula bottle to the kitten. Better. Lil guy is hungry and after a taste screams for more.

"Sometimes in nature, animals will leave behind the smallest to give the others a better chance at survival. But, we can intervene and give love and support. I'll give you some directions, and Star will be available if you need help still."
