Ahhh! Check out this little teaser for the new music video The Made Shop wrote, directed, and produced for Son Lux coming out super soon!
Working on this project felt like an actual dream team and I sort of can’t believe how cool it was: We got to work with one of my absolute favorite new actors, the unbelievably good Tatiana Maslany (from Orphan Black), not to mention the one and only Mr. Noah Segan (from, of course, Brick and Looper). My brother and co-conspirator Nathan directed, my wife (and co-conspirator) Kim produced, and on top of all that our whole cast and crew were some of my favorite friends and artists. AND the album and single by Son Lux is seriously so, so good.
The video’s coming soon, but you can get the single now, and NPR has a First Listen up now of the whole album.

There were moments I thought I had stepped onto the sands of an exotic island, but yet here it was: a landscape so stunning nestled into the coastline of the West. America, you are beautiful.

Mnikesa, my friend. | (October 2014)
Last night, in a city that has wooed me over the last decade, I set a table, with the collaboration of a profound designer, two out of this world creatives, a ridiculously talented bartender, and an intuitive photographer. Eighteen people gathered around one table on my porch by the river, where we ate and drank together.
For as long as I can remember, it is meals like this that have been a dream of mine. I dream of tables—the meals that can be had on them and the possibilities of experiences we can share with friends and strangers. This communal table was a thrilling and humbling experience and the first of many, I hope.
I spent today cleaning the multitudes of plates and glassware and reflecting on the evening while catching up on the most recent episode of Mad Men. In this episode the character of Peggy Olsen is presenting a pitch to Burger Chef in which she states, “….and you’re starving and not just for dinner. What if there was another table?…and we can have the connection that we are hungry for.” So, with my thoughts and the words of Peggy, I invite you to The Table, a New Haven supper club.
