I'd like to mention Ernest Kingsley Junior in his role in The Sandman. With next to no lines this beautiful man captures the presence and power of Dream. He's fucking beautiful and in a handful of pretty good things. Deserves more work. Big and small parts, I think they should've given him more in The Sandman as Dream. Especially season 2 (obviously).
It's pretty funny I said that Superman is bad and left wing idiots are extremely reactionary. And then a bunch of left wing idiots were extremely reactionary about it. I don't think y'all have any opinion on Superman what-so-ever. Just a blind ignorant defense because of the subhuman shit that is the right wing. Y'all doing your best to meet them at their level. You're succeeding.
Superman (2025) isn't very good. It looks good. There are some nice messages. But it is very poorly written, poorly composed (composition, not music), and poorly edited. I strongly disagree that Krypto being a misbehaving dog is fun in any way. This is a James Gunn movie - it isn't a Superman movie. I love Kal being an immigrant, I appreciate the innocence of kindness that is sometimes (but rarely) captured. This very busy movie fails to give Superman any true arc because he's already made his choices about everything and everyone. Leaving the audience with the bluster of his words and no substance. This empty film has so much going on that nothing really happens. And it introduced random huge, world shifting, concepts and technologies without any setup or payoff.
I liked the previews. I thought Louis interviewing Clark was going to be this narrative device to show how he changes his voice and demeanor (and possibly even opinion) between Superman and Clark. I thought "eyes up here" was going to be a much better scene and delivery instead of being edited into half a second. I thought this was going to be how the world functions around someone like Superman. Someone good and honest holding back their true strength to protect people. But being naive, ignorant, and a bad pet owner is not interesting to me. One fight where he struggles to save a few living things because the others fighting allow such excess damage - directly followed by another fight that he ignores because he trusts them doesn't make sense. I don't know what you are all watching. I left before even seeing the ugly joke that is Supergirl. This is disappointing.
I am not right wing. I'm not left wing. I believe in socialism. I'm further left than a great majority of the ignorant and sad (and often pathetic) folks that are constantly reacting to the right wings whining. I think that reactionary behavior is ugly and sad and often incorrect. If only because you're all trying so hard to be the clever well liked bully you admired in highschool. Grow the fuck up.

I'm very allergic to poison oak. I work in the woods. On my limbs it's a hot sensitive weight. But this job, I've got it on my face for the second time now. Rash shows up. Swells. Oooooozes, crusts. There's always these designs. Ridges. The skin is thicker but more sensitive like an open wound. I'm a big dumb nerd. So I sit here tracing the ridges on one side of my face. The swollen side of my face. Wishing this fucking curse mark gave me some kind of power. It itches.

Apparently the end of Chris Evans being Captain America means he's only interested in making schlocky shit and pretending he's putting effort in amongst other famous folks that don't give a shit. Our species is embarrassing - as in existence. My only wish, ever, is the end of us. Disgusting.

Person 1: "Right, so we're only going to do one more season and we're not really going to animate large portions of it. What should the story be?"
Person 2: " People probably just want broad backstory notes and a bunch of loose strings we can allude to having meaning, since we're not going to explain or commit to anything."

The French people are the source of our common understanding of liberty and are still fighting the durge of "lords" and oligarchs with their political suffrage that over-powers the joke that is our vote in every Democratic nation.

The world, they didn't lose every war. They never supported sacrificing themselves for the aristocrats in the ignorance so many other nations did.
They are still fighting. Why the fuck aren't you?
I think people need to realize that things aren't really that crazy politically and socially. That the world and our culture have not entered some death spiral. But that in any time before these last 30 years the internet and wireless communication would have editorialized and radicalized everything then exactly as it does now. All that has changed is access. Capitalism has been oppressing humanity for hundreds of years in many forms. I feel bad for all of you.
