Wine-Infused Brownies

Take your Thursday day from “ugh” to “cozy” with this red wine chocolate brownie recipe:

You’ll need: A shot of Thorny Rose Red Blend Your fave brownie mix + required ingredients (for example, eggs and butter) Directions: 1. Mix brownie ingredients according to package directions, stirring in a shot of Thorny Red Blend at the very end. 2. Bake according to package directions and enjoy! The shot of Red Blend adds just a little red wine flavor and makes the chocolate brownies taste even more chocolatey. You might want to share the brownies and a glass of Red Blend with your bae, but keep the corner brownies for yourself. Mmm, corner brownies.

Throw an EPIC End of Summer Party

The end of summer is the best and the worst. It’s the best because you can say goodbye to mosquitoes and that weird foot tan you get when you wear flip-flops, and hello to sweaters, boots, and soup. It’s the worst for every other reason. Summer is objectively the most fun season, so why not say goodbye with an awesome party?

Here’s our tips on throwing an end-of-summer bash:

1. Keep food and drinks simple Summer food and drinks are the greatest because they’re not try-hard. Stick to BBQ food, ice cream and popsicles and you’re on your way to a flawless party. As for drinks? Think sangria and ice-cold white wines.

2. Crowdsource a summer playlist There are two truths about summer songs: summer singles are always bangers, and everyone always disagrees on the “song of the summer.” Ask your friends for their song of the summer and create a playlist of their picks.

3. Choose a ridiculous theme When you’ve got BBQ, Thorny, and a great playlist, you don’t really need a theme – but it’s fun anyway. Here are some ideas:

● White party – a summer standard. If it’s good enough for Puff Daddy and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, why not you?

● All the holidays – celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, and all the winter holidays at once. It’s like a trailer for the next 6 months.

● Backyard water park – break out the kiddie pools, slip and slides, water balloons, and other classics.

5. Take risks Whether it’s a big risk, like moving somewhere new, or a small risk like tackling a Mariah song at karaoke, more smart risks = more fun.

6. Eat all the pizza Say “thank you” to your twentysomething metabolism by treating yourself to pizza, tacos and burgers – the three main food groups.

7. Drastically change your hair Maybe an undercut or rainbow ombré will look amazing on you – you never know until you try.

8. Throw a dinner party Getting all your friends together for a meal you actually cooked yourself is a big deal. Add some Thorny and a killer playlist, and you’re guaranteed to have a good night.

9. Feel like a real adult It’s okay to pause and congratulate yourself after figuring out a health insurance plan, or buying toilet paper BEFORE it runs out. You’re winning at this adult thing.

Spicy Wine-a-Rita for Cinco de Mayo

Everyone loves margaritas, but not everyone loves tequila. Say hello to the wine-a-rita – a delish combination of Sauv Blanc and margarita mix that you can throw together super-fast. And just for Cinco de Mayo, we added a spicy chili-salt rim. Spiced rims take about 30 seconds but make you look like a master mixologist, which means they’re great for Cinco de Mayo fiestas.

The rim also adds a kick that goes great with nachos, or enchiladas with tomatillo salsa, or chicken tinga tostadas...now we’re hungry.

Here’s how to make your own spicy wine-a-ritas:

You’ll need: A bottle of Thorny Rose Sauvignon Blanc 25 oz limeade 1 tablespoon chili powder 1 tablespoon kosher salt A few limes

Directions: 1. Pour the bottle of Thorny Sauv Blanc and 25 oz of limeade into a pitcher. 2. Mix the chili powder and salt together on a plate. Wet the rim of each glass with a lime wedge, then dip rim in the chili salt and twist. 3. Add some ice to each glass and pour in margarita mix! Serves you and 4 friends.

How to Pair Wine + Easter Candy

It’s a fact: Easter candy is the best holiday candy. We know – what about Halloween? But when you think about it, most Halloween candy is everyday candy in a SMALLER SIZE. That and candy corn, which makes no sense. What’s spooky about corn?

The Mardi Gras Tropical Storm Cocktail

You can’t deny that New Orleans knows how to throw a killer party – just look at Mardi Gras, it’s on a Tuesday and it’s still amazing. (Mardi Gras is French for “Fat Tuesday,” which, like most things, sounds better in French).

All you need for your own awesome Mardi Gras party is some friends, maybe some king cake and beads, and Thorny’s Tropical Storm cocktail. It’s like the classic Hurricane, but with Pinot Grigio instead of rum – so we downgraded it to a Tropical Storm. Which is probably better for a Tuesday night, anyway.

The Thorny Rose Tropical Storm 5 oz Thorny Rose Pinot Grigio 2 oz orange juice 2 oz pineapple juice A splash of grenadine

Directions: Pour over ice and stir! Or puree in a blender and serve in a styrofoam cup for that Bourbon Street je ne sais quoi.

Special bonus for frozen Northerners: pre-heat apartment at 72 degrees and pretend you’re in Louisiana.
