"He's lying! Jesus Karah, when will you see that he's stringing you along?"
His voice was harsh and raised, something he never did. He was trying to convey an important message to me, one I didn't want to hear. He wasn't wrong, I knew that however his words still caused my eyes to narrow and my palms to sweat.
"Do you really think I don't know that?!" I spit, tears begging to sting my eyes. "He was my everything for four years. Letting go of something you thought would last forever isn't that easy, but you wouldn't understand that so don't you dare stand there and tell me what I should be doing."
His hard features slacked almost instantly as he deflated, his milk chocolate orbs locking with mine. The two shades of brown swirled together, smoldering with yet another emotion I hadn't seen before on his face.
At that moment I knew what was said couldn't be taken back. That it was something carrying more weight than I thought. And it was something I now regretted terribly. God, I was stupid. Â
