PSA Aderall
If you take Adderall often and stop sleeping, your brain starts eating itself because it can't reset when you sleep. This causes depression and feelings of pain, unworthiness, guilt, and general feelings of shiftiness.
So, if you or someone you know is addicted to Adderall, or enjoys the high of substance abuse, what are you really doing? You are digging your own grave. If you cause yourself to feel like shit, which is essentially what you are doing on the come down, you are allowing yourself to feel depressed and you are making yourself miserable. The reason that users choose to take drugs is to make themselves feel happier. The only healthy way to actually feel better is step one: Prepare yourself to feel better. There is a math equation for this that once in place makes things go a lot smoother because coming out of drug addiction is super hard. But if you'd actually let me sit down with you and explain it to you, I could help you understand, but you won't listen to me.
Its hard. Because its a lot of truth. The truth isn't something that is difficult to hear.
But step one is set yourself up for success. Have some people that can be used as a support system. Support systems are people that you can trust, that will listen to you. They won't say anything except validate your feelings and let you know that you are being heard. Support systems are essential because they allow us to really feel how we feel. They allow us to really be honest with ourselves.
The world is a scary place and people can be super mean. Some of us choose to make lies to others, and even lie to ourselves and not be honest with ourselves. Understanding that you do this is the first step to making yourself happy. Its the first step to achieving your goals.
It can be done. It is possible. If you tell yourself its not possible, you may be suffering from irrational thoughts, which is when you have negative self talk. People like this put themselves down because if they do it first, they figure no one can hurt them if they're hurting themselves. For people like this, step two is changing your inner voice. It is telling yourself, no. That's not right. or No, I shouldn't think like that, I'm doing okay, and I'm trying to understand myself so that I can feel better.
Step one and two can take 6 months. Step one and two can take 2 years. ITs all about how much you push yourself and how badly you really want to feel better.
Hiding behind drugs and alcohol as a way to make yourself feel better is doing the exact opposite for yourself. You are knowingly injuring yourself. You are knowingly hurting yourself. You are knowingly maiming yourself. And recognizing this, and the people around you that you let into your life, will have a 100% effect on weather or not you make it out of this alive. Will you waste the next 20 years of your life doing drugs and being addicted to alcohol because you use it as a way to make yourself feel better, when in reality, this is the same thing as self harm? OR will you step up to the plate, walk through the door that is your better self, your better future, the version of you that is successful and happy? The part of you that is achieving your dreams? When in four years that will fly by, you'll sit there and say to yourself, I never thought I could do this. I never thought I could make this happen for myself.
You'll think to yourself, wow. What amazing friends I have. I've lost a lot of friends that really didn't care about me, but I gained friend who had my actual best interest in mind, rather than someone who was just fun to hang around. Put people in your life that actually care about you, who want the best for you. Who will tell you like it is. The truth can really really suck. But that's the thing. Its the truth. Are you a strong person who can overcome it? Yes. Because I see you, who you are now, and how unhappy you are and how unhappy you have made yourself. And how miserable you have let yourself become.
I see you slipping down a dark hole that killed the lives of your boys. Don't follow them. Be the change that you wish could have saved them. NOW is your chance to make a difference.
It is possible to make the change, to set a new tone, to start a new life. you are the only one making your life miserable. Others have tried to help you realize that you are the only one doing this to yourself. You're lying to your friends and family and making people not trust you. You're doing this. No one else. You're blaming others for your lies that you're doing. Come one dude. You're better than that. You might have lied to me, and lied to yourself. You might have lost my trust, but I believe in you. I will believe in you more than you do. You can do this.
The most rewarding decisions are often the most difficult to make.
I think I want to quit my ADHD meds, I know that I have to make this decision at this point in my life. I have a hefty spring semester coming up & I'm afraid but I think I'm afraid in the good way. I want to feel like a human again.
