so... i came on here expressing frustration with kells because of his friend circles. and i think i'm just going to have to give it up, cause i can never hate or truly stay away from his shit cause it damn near raised me and got me through so many dark situations.
now, will i defend his ass anymore? hell no. am i going to war with other ppl over him like i used to? hell no. am i following almost every fan account or even him at this point? hell no. i don't view him as MY artist anymore and i honestly don't think i wanna go deeper anymore. but i think i'm going to leave it at, i have a love/that nigga is annoying relationship with him as an artist and i honestly think that's okay and am cool with it. i think my rose colored glasses are gone when it comes to him and instead of completely dubbing him and acting like he never meant anything (he meant the fucking world mind you), i'm okay settling on that.
i think a better way of putting it.. if it isn't the music, it's not about anything. i don't want anything explained. i'm not watching extra clips or interviews cause THAT'S how that nigga caught my attention and damn near dragged me under when i first found him.
do you guys go through this?
Yes and no. Personally, I don't really like some people he interacts with and befriends, but I pay them so little attention that I don't say much unless they show up. For instance, I'm not a fan of the Paul brothers, yet they've been friends for years. I find them problematic and they have a history of issues, but Colson and his team still choose to engage with them. They have that right, but I see it as if he decides to be friends with these individuals, he is somewhat accepting their ideology and behaviors. It's like the saying, show me your friends, and I'll show you your future. It's annoying when parents say it, but if one of his friends does something really problematic and the world justly judges them and their associates, he can't be upset if he gets grouped with them.
