So apparently Pete has abandoned his 5 month old and her mother both physically and financially…are we even surprised?

So I did some investigating before I could respond to this because the accusation to me is a serious one. I did find it interesting how Elsie hasn't bashed him publicly like most Hollywood baby mamas do for child neglect and abandonment. This to me could mean that there is a lot more happening behind the scenes. I don't deny that they broke up or that she's handling what she needs to as a single mom, but there could be more factors contributing to that, that we are not aware of.

And honestly, if Pete abandoned his new born daughter I would be surprised. This man constantly praises his friends for being great fathers and talks about his own dad constantly, that didn't strike me as someone who wouldn't try

Okay, well give me an example? I've seen black country artists, rock, pop, scream. I haven't seen an influx of people saying they are taking someone's culture. Maybe some ignorant people in the country realm but black people have been doing country for decades. So which genre are you referring to? I'm Caribbean so I have seen some Caribbean and Africans roll their eyes when an original song was remixed but they don't call them vultures

In literally every genre other than hip hop, rap, and r&b. I’ve been apart of the alternative community my entire life and although it’s generally pretty welcoming there is absolutely still prejudice. If you are a black artist functioning in a predominantly white genre- you will have whites tell you that you don’t belong and you will most certainly have Blacks tell you that you’re trying to be white or you’re whitewashed. ESPECIALLY if you originally started off in the hip hop/rap genre and ventured out afterwards.

Definitely still seeing it now with more and more black people entering into alternative sub genres.

Beyonce is also an amazing example- just look at how they reacted to her at the country music awards when she performed with the Dixie chicks and then again a decade later when she came out with cowboy carter- she still got hate.

What you're describing is true, but I wouldn't equate this (in my opinion) to being called a culture vulture. Yes, there is push back from predominantly white spaces, but unlike hip hop, that was largely formulated by black people, those people who are willfully ignorant can't say that black people weren't pioneers in those genres. As far as black people being ignorant, as someone who's been told all her life that I sound like a "white girl" I understand the ignorance. I think the people who willfully engage in that activity are trying to fit in with the masses and don't have a mind of their own.

Black people were pioneers in rock, country, hip hop, and some of the most respected artists are called the king of pop. I don't believe they can be culture cultures in these genres because for the most part, they don't enter into these genres to get a leg up and dip like some white artists do, nor do their record labels tell them to try these genres out because its more marketable

I don't think colson is racist but I do think that if you are going to claim to love the culture, the people and the history, you cannot simultaneously surround yourself with people who insult or hate that group of people

This is the only valid criticism. He’s received an insane amount of hate his entire career and supports whoever supports him back because he will take whatever love he can get, even if it’s not healthy- we’ve seen it time and time again. He also has a soft spot for notoriously hated people bc he empathizes with them for being so hated. It’s a character flaw but it doesn’t inherently make him a racist or a bad person. And he doesn’t have to speak out about anything- he’s a musician not a politician or activist.

The issue is people reaching and dragging it when you know they don’t check these other artist or their friends and family the same way they’re trying to check him rn. Yall didn’t care about any of this shit 6 yrs ago- coming off very fake.

I hope you all have the same outrage and criticism for the overwhelming amount of black artists that are also not speaking up and not protesting or using their platforms to raise awareness about the social injustices happening- which BTW have been happening for literal decades- everyone just decides to start giving a fuck now but where were yall 5-10 years ago?? Or is Colson being held to a higher standard simply because he’s white?

I think the scale for black and white artists are always going to be different. A black artist isn't a "guest" in hip hop, a white artist is. Everyone calling Colson racist and saying the Black woman in the new mv is just a “token” is seriously dragging it at this point. The video started filming over a week ago… you really think he scrambled to recast someone two days ago just to prove random people online wrong? Be serious for a second.

It’s one thing to criticize someone’s actions if you disagree with them, but some of you have gone way beyond that and turned it into this bizarre witch-hunt over his entire character.

And let’s be honest: he’s done more for his community (which includes Black ppl whether you wanna acknowledge that or not) and for others than most of the people screaming online ever have. If you’re demanding he be some full-time activist and speak out about every social issue, I hope you’re outside at every protest, donating to every cause, volunteering your time, and holding yourselves to the same standards you’re trying to hold him to. But we all know that’s not the case.

You’re completely free to stop supporting someone without trying to slander them as a person in the process. He’s still the same person he’s always been and doing the same things he’s always done. The only thing that changed is his zip code, but funny how nobody ever had this energy before. In fact, most of you didn’t give a damn about social justice until it became trendy to do so- take your performative outrage elsewhere.

35, starting perimenopause. Got the skyla IUD to stop the bleeding for A MONTH STRAIGHT. Now my back is being rude and I can't sit and honestly it feels like an epidural and they have left it in.

For the one who just commented, maybe it was the interaction that drives that perspective? It did come off as them wanting the woman with the lighter complexion? I'm trying to see all sides of this here. I understand why people are so upset though. On one end, he hasn't said anything nor done anything racist (in the present day). On the other, I can understand how him being around people who have caused such a disgusting ruckus looks. It makes you raise an eyebrow because why does this not make you pause? If someone is bringing you this perspective, take a second to see why they are saying it. I think a lot of these comments are coming out of hurt. I also think (no offense when I say this) we need to stop looking up to these celebrities. They are human beings and a lot of the time, they are disappointing human beings. At the beginning and end of it, they're here for the money.

For the people that are hurt, I understand and I hate that. I try to see every angle and every side and they are valid in how they feel.

Originally when I watched it, i thought one was for colson and the other was for wiz. However, since the music video ended with them being lesbians, I have no clue who would go with who. Do I think he's a racist himself, no. Do I think he needs to check himself and his circle? Yes.

Also on the topic of his friends, club promoters are everywhere in La so everyone hangs with them but he used to be real close with that Eli Wehbe guy and he drugged and got a girl r worded then she died this was 2017 and they all hanged with him till 2020 when it became a lot more known what he’d done, also he was at his 34th birthday party and mod still shows him love so weird.

I just have to say, he needs to stop crying. Stop trying to get everyone's attention. Stop trying to be a part of the culture's conversation. You will never be top dawg in a genre you are a guest in, and he doesn't even respect the people of said culture. You love hanging with racists so much, go be a part of their conversations and culture. I have to say I respect Megan for leaving him alone. Nothing is worse than wearing rose colored glasses then realizing you put your eggs in a basket with a total clown. Kudos to her. That's probably why she's not circling back. She woke up.
