After almost a year of work by me and Shinmatrad, the translation of TS' Visual Novel/SRPG Hybrid Shinsetsu Mahou Shoujo has been completed! All main story chapters and post-game extra missions have been translated and proofread. The full game is in the download, no need to download the original Japanese game as well.

To summarize, the story follows a middle school student, Chiyoko and her friend Haruka who become super-powered magical warriors to protect Kakehashi City from mysterious creatures called Biomonsters.
It sounds like the setup for a cheerful magical girl anime, but is much more grounded in its tone and execution. The game starts with Chiyoko returning to school after being suspended on suspicion of sending 5 other students to the hospital, and her reputation is as low as it can get. The "magical girl" outfits are not frilly costumes but sci-fi-esque bodysuits complete with laser swords, and there is no transformation scene like a magical girl anime. The process to turn a human into a magical warrior is also more sci-fi than magic, involving a large syringe injected into the spine. The "mascot character" from another planet which is a staple of the magical girl genre also exists, but he is more akin to an overworked salaryman in an overseas job posting. The fights with biomonsters are dangerous, with death and injury being very real possibilities.
However, it is also not a deconstruction of the magical girl genre, like Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Much of the story is focused on the girls' daily lives and their efforts to recruit more members into their ranks, often with comedic results. There is a good balance of seriousness and lightheartedness in the tone. The author TS manages to make a story with dozens of endearing characters, while also writing arcs with character growth for many of them.
On the gameplay side, this is an SRPG developed in SRPG Studio, so expect gameplay like Fire Emblem or Super Robot Wars. The key mechanic is the management of MP, a nonrenewable resource required to use powerful skills. Because of this, you cannot use one powerful character to simply dominate the whole game, but have to make use of all your units. This ties in with why our characters need to recruit more allies, making for a tight gameplay and story integration.
For the presentation, the maps and the visual novel parts are practical and serviceable, but nothing too noteworthy. The standout areas are the battle animations, which are all hand rendered sprite animations, and every character's battle style is unique and every single one of their skills is individually crafted, resulting in a mindboggling high number of beautiful, unique animations all done by a single person TS, who also does all the writing and gameplay. The soundtrack uses royalty-free music, but the tracks selected all fit together and sound good.
To conclude, this game is definitely worth your time, and will keep you entertained, for a good 30-40 hours, maybe even more. Maybe even make you cry.
Note:
Shinsetsu Mahou Shoujo is a remake of TS' older game simply called Mahou Shoujo. There is also a paid/fandisk version of the game called Shinsetsu Mahou Shoujo+ which contains an additional non-canon scenario focused on one of the side characters, this translation does not include the paid content.

Summary
For the past month, I have been helping Shinmatrad with editing the script and redrawing images for the English fan-TL of Shinsetsu Mahou Shoujo, a free indie Visual Novel/SRPG hybrid with 20-30 minute visual novel elements followed by challenging SRPG combat like Fire Emblem or Super Robot Wars. This first release translates chapters 1-15, out of a total of 51, but the download link has the latest partial which translates up to chapter 34.
The story follows a middle school girl named Chiyoko who, along with many other comrades, becomes a super-powered warrior in order to protect her city from an invading horde of enemies called Biomonsters with the help of a cat-like alien guide named Phi.

Although it's free, don't think that it is a low-effort game. At 50 hours of play time, over 20 unique playable characters with their own stories, goals and fears, and unique battle animations for each character and enemy, it is a true passion project by its developer TS, who has made many other SRPGs as well.

Hi! I've been interesting on starting fantranslating some VNs made in tyranobuilder, but haven't found any program to cleanly change the original texts to the translated ones. Is there any specific program for this?
Hi, good on you to start! I don’t use any specific Tyrano translator tool as I edit the files directly. My workflow is to extract the files from the .exe using something like universal extractor, then create a private Git repository for tracking any changes I make. The most important files are the .ks files in the scenario folder as that contains the main scenario scripts. After everything is done, take only the modified files and zip them (preserving the original data structure) and rename the zip file as a .tpatch file which can be used to patch over the original game.
It's been commonly reported that during the "Prison" scenario of Dice Psycho, when you choose the sixth dice, the game freezes when you reach the beauty parlor, which occurs in the original Japanese version as well. One of the issues is that this freeze doesn't occur for everyone, making it hard to reproduce. And the second issue is that you can't save during the Prison scenario, meaning when it freezes, you have to start all over again.
On Dec 31 2022, CHARON released Dice Psycho Seventh Heaven, which has a fix for the second issue. I have backported this fix to the original Dice Psycho and made it available as a patch file.

To use this patch, please download and put tyranoproject.tpatch into the same folder as dice_psycho.exe. This patch only works with my translated version, NOT the original japanese version!
Now even if the game freezes, you'll be able to load from a previous save instead of starting the Prison all over again.
Now that CHARON is releasing a fully-voiced version of Dice Psycho, would you be willing to make an English TL patch for it (since it's not free)?

Paid games will not be translated for the foreseeable future, since Charon might work on an official translation anyway like Kaleido Stella, Vanilla, Kimi to Boku to Kakushigoto, Utsuro Nikki and so forth.
To add on to the previous answer, I have tried to contact Charon but never got a reply, so paid games will still not be translated. Charon is actually incorporated now, so it's probably safer for them to go through a proper translation company than some random fan.
