( the water was cold, the instinct was to take a breathe and with that he began to swallow sea water——he was drowning. All he could see was darkness his hands reaching out for hope. The feeling of a hand took hold of his and he darted towards what felt like the surface and sure enough both him and Isaki were gasping for air. )  

                         ❛ Well you disap—*COUGH* *COUGH*—                                                Disappeared after all. ❜ 

   ( a hand raised from the water and placed itself gently on the edge    of Isaki’s features. He knew if he did something like this it would    work. The thought of never seeing Isaki was too much to handle,    he never wanted them to be apart—he had to convince Isaki to     come back. ——To come home. )

                             ❛ Let’s go back Isaki-san. ❜

                    ❝ I won't go back. ❞ ( he moves the hand from his cheek, pushing it away. isaki couldn't go back... he wouldn't. shima no longer needed him there with him. he was happy now. that's what isaki had wanted for him all along. so now it was time to remove himself from the picture. )                     ❝ I'm tired of living on the land.                          You don't need me anymore, Shima. ❞ ( it hurt to speak to shima with what was on his heart. but shima needed to hear it. the truth. he needed to move on. )                     ❝ There's no reason for me to go back.                          You need human friends instead of me.                          Just go out and have fun with them. And                          get yourself a wonderful girlfriend. ❞

( 伊崎さん！伊崎iさん！伊崎さん！His mind was wired, full of adrenaline and his heart was practically beating out of his  chest. Running towards the ocean, with the feeling of sand under his feet grasping onto his shoes making it harder to run. Maybe this was a sign…. A sign to stop. )

( Isaki was a merman——and Shima was a human. Two different species, would make things unequally stressful on the both of  them…. Then the thoughts of not have Isaki around made his heart beat even faster… Shima couldn’t imagine a life without Isaki. )

( Running down the pathway of rock he screamed as loud as he his voice could carry, but there was no sign of Isaki. Shima had learned to embrace every part of himself—included his selfish side… && this side would never let Isaki go. He leaped off the rocks and into the cold depths of the ocean praying for a warm hand to grab his own. )

                                      ❛ ISAKI-SAN!!!!! ❜

( isaki watched the one he had left approach the rocks, the ones he had watched him from as a little boy. he thought he has come back to cry... now that isaki was not coming back to the dry surface of land again. hearing his name being screamed from the top of shima's lungs. as if the human had lost something. or rather someone. someone like isaki. ) ( but what he didn't expect was for him to yell his name one last time and launch himself from the rocks and into the cold ocean. he couldn't swim. that was enough for isaki's tail to kick into high gear and he cut through the water like a knife. grabbing onto shima and pulling him to the surface. once at the surface and shima was gasping for breath was when isaki yelled at him. )                                   ❝ARE YOU AN IDIOT?!                    ——I thought my heart was going to stop.❞

They say look before you leap and make sure you can swim before you go in the deep water, but when a picture of his late grandfather falls into the ocean, Shima jumps in after it without thinking. Nearly drowning as a result, he is instead saved by a very perfect stranger… one whose strangeness extends to only being human from the waist up!
