Timelapse of 3 days, from August 7th to the 9th when I painted this mural in Los Angeles at 654 N. Hoover on the east facing wall of Jewel.

Zazzie Sunray Portal no.1, 2020. This mural is most directly in the lineage of the 2018 progress flag, which is a combination of the Transgender flag and the 2017 Philadelphia pride flag, which comes from the 1979 six color pride flag, which comes from the 1977 eight color pride flag, which in turn comes from the 1960s flag of the human race, which of course comes from the optical effect created when thousands of tiny droplets of water interact with the light which comes from the sun.

The paints I used were made in Culver City by Nova Color, super pigment dense and uv resistant. I could not have painted it so quickly or so well without the expertise and help from Gary Musgrave of The Dracula’s. Gary knows how to put a mural up on a wall no kidding, and we talk all the time about all the things, and it was a really great way to spend a couple of days.
