The height of the space gave us great options. Combining lariks wood and steel gives the design of the cupboard the balance we envisioned. White birch plywood with a raw steel top for the kitchen to fit all the appliances. A lot of detailed work with the all important lines we like in our designs.

Thanks to de3Dmakerij.nl we have a new addition to our interior collection, the Webster Mini. This tiny 3D version of the Webster is only 75mm high and 50mm wide, so it even fits in the smallest interiors.

SONOS Studio Amsterdam Dance Event

For SONOS Tieme Rietveld designed and realized the SONOS Studio during the annual ADE.  

SONOS speakers are designed for home acoustics. Since the venue is not a home we designed a home for the speakers. That makes SONOS Studio @ ADE an acoustically designed space that celebrates music listening and is the best place to experience The Sonos Wireless HiFi System. The SONOS Studio is a studio programme (in Los Angeles, @ SXSW and now @ ADE) that explores the intersection of music, art and technology through creative collaboration, exhibitions, intimate concerts, listening parties, workshops and more.

Custom designed interior and furniture pieces aswel as some products like the TR Side Table, Webster Cabinet were used to give the SONOS Studio it's european looks.

TR Side Table

The materials for the TR Sidetables are pure. Walnut combined with Desktop or Corian white.

Available in 50 cm or 60 cm diameter and 32 cm or 42 cm hight.

TR-Table

  With this design Tieme Rietveld aims to get a slender round table. The materials are pure and functional. Legs made of walnut wood combined with a raw steel frame. The tabletop is finished with a soft matt material that makes it just as touchable as chique

The Webster Bookcase by Tieme Rietveld

The bookcase comes with walnut wooden legs. It’s a gorgeous piece of furniture, designed to display not only books, but also pictures, vases and gadgets. The handcrafted Webster is made with FSC approved materials, and a great durable piece of furniture that pushes the boundaries of current contemporary design.

BOOKSTAND RIETVELD

Beautiful books deserve to be displayed in the most gracious way. This ingenious bookstand was exclusively designed for MENDO by Tieme Rietveld. The x-shaped book stand is asymmetric. By turning it 180 degrees, the width of the sides changes, which makes the stand suitable for both large and XL books. It is tested and approved for books with a span of 100 cm and weight up to 35 kg

Gallery 33 by Present Plus

The company Present Plus approached Tieme Rietveld for a total interior concept and build of their new office space. Present Plus is an innovative studio with a passion for design, software, culture, and story-telling. They grew out of their old office and in need for more space and wanting to celebrate creativity in a Gallery, they moved to the redeveloped factory site of the WesterGasfabriek. Today the WesterGasfabriek is the meeting place of choice for creative and innovative Amsterdam residents and now home to Present Plus and Gallery33.

Tieme Rietveld got carte blanche in the design of their new office and gallery space. All he had to do was create a studio plus gallery that would allow them to collaborate and make great things. It’s about authenticity, consistency, innovation and experience.

All was designed to create a hybrid space. With downstairs Gallery33, now playing host to a plethora of different exhibitions, gigs, sessions, dinners and workshops. It has a clean and fresh look & feel to it. Upstairs is where you’ll find their office space, shaped in search of the right balance between the company and its space.

Tieme added some unique elements to the design, the desks can be rolled in and out to create more or less workingspace depending on the number of people working there. The tables shift through the cubboards that also serve as a balustrade. Interesting detail is the tabletop, with it’s raw edges but subtle deck.

No details were overlooked in this project, even the acoustics were attended to. To have great sound in a space that big he came up with a grid like lighted fence covering the side of the stairs on the first floor, making it an appealing part of the space and giving it it’s charismatic and warm feeling.

Percepter cabinet

The Percepter Cabinet (€7,999) by Tieme Rietveld revels in the unnecessarily complicated. It’s one-of-a-kind, handmade, unabashed overdesign, inspired by an unlikely source. “It all started with the AllSpark, a piece I did a while back for a client. AllSpark was based on the AllSpark artefact from the Transformers series. I’m a big Transformers fan,” Rietveld tells Co.Design. “The cabinet itself has only a few edges. The rest is the work of Codex Inferno. It kind of has an 'impossible’ Escher feel to it. Or at least, that was our goal. We tried to blur the line between real and fake.”

And in this sense, Rietveld has truly done the impossible: He’s created a cabinet as delightfully nonsensical as the average Michael Bay film.Codex Inferno’s sprayed image has elements of “cubism, futurism, and graffiti artists like Daim and Delta,” and combined with Rietveld’s already unconventional cabinet, the Percepter becomes the most delightfully mindbending way to store the dishes. Without looking extremely closely, it’s impossible to know where the angular image ends and the cabinet itself begins.

This bookcase or 'wallpiece' is a multifunctional piece of furniture. It's design makes it blend in with the house it self. The piece is designed for everyday use and with it's desk that is exactly what the customer does.

Allspark

The AllSpark houses a complete Harman Kardon audio and video set, including two sub-woofers. It comes equipped with a small receiver in one of the doors so the devices can be operated with the doors closed. Finished with a glossy white and handleless doors, the design maintains its uniformity.
