Throwback Thursday to when I actually photographed! (May 2013) So proud of these guys and all their success!
I’ve been crazy busy but looking through old photos and looking forward to winter break & the next 3 part-time semesters so I can actually shoot more shows.
A Day In The Life: Volume 1, Issue 2 - Erica’s Prom
On Thursday, June 18, 2015, Erica Figueroa had her senior prom! I’ve seen Erica grow up from graduating MIDDLE SCHOOL to now graduating HIGH SCHOOL! I can be equated to her older sister, especially according to her mother. They wanted me to document her day so that is exactly what I did. She has grown up so fast and I’m happy that I was able to see her on her prom night! Good luck at Arizona State University!
4:09 PM: After waiting at Carman’s Hair Salon in the Lower East Side, Erica finally takes her curlers out. The guests in the salon watch her as Carman gets ready to do her hair. “Que Lindo”, they say in Spanish.
4:18 PM: Carman and Erica laugh as they think I will make them famous with my photography. “It’ll be on Facebook!”
4:25 PM: Erica freaks out and calls her mom hoping to be on time and not miss her makeup appointment!
4:47 PM: Picked up and on our way to MAC in Soho!
4:55 PM: The makeup artist and Erica speak about the dramatic look Erica would like to have. “My dress is black and silver and I would like a lot of contouring!”
5:09 PM: EYEBROWS ON FLEEK!
5-6 PM: Makeup is a long process.
5:33 PM: “How You Doin’?” *Wendy Williams Voice*
6:02 PM: FINAL TOUCHES ARE MADE!
6:34 PM: Back to the house to put Erica’s dress on. It’s almost PROM TIME! Erica’s mom, Lissette, lathers Erica up!
6:39 PM: Frantically getting ready to make sure everything is absolutely perfect.
6:41 PM: Neighbors come over and gather to take pictures of their not-so-little girl!
6:45 PM: Grandpa’s taking it all in.
6:48 PM: It’s time to go downstairs.
6:45 PM: Neighbor’s become emotional as they hug Lissette. Erica looks so grown up. Her family, both blood and not, take photos with her.
6:51 PM: She stands in the middle of the sidewalk as everyone takes photos. Paparazzi for sure!
6:55 PM: Mommy comes in for a picture!
6:58 PM: Wiping tears (from the wind) from Erica’s face. PROM IS IN FULL EFFECT!
6:59 PM: Corsage time! But oh no! We forgot his Boutonnière so let’s just go with it.
7:03 PM: OFF WE GO!
7:25 PM: Meeting up with friends! Totally ready to dance the night away.
Happy I was able to spend the day with you! Congratulations!
