nekobaba:
He couldn’t break down.
Not here, not now – and so Hakata merely kept holding tighter than ever onto that tiny body shuddering against him and focused – pushing away all his own panic and worry as hard as he could. Almost as if this was becoming more and more for the both of them and not just Gokotai. He inhaled sharply.
“I missed you too.” Hakata conceded, the frame of his glasses colliding unevenly with Gokotai’s shoulder as he rubbed it with his cheek affectionately. “Let’s just make the best of this situation together, okay? With Yagen and Shinano… Ichi-nii… and the others.”
Hakata missed him... That was all it took. Gokotai dissolved into hysterical cries, sobbing against his brother’s shoulder as he clung to the other tantou’s clothing. He’d been coping with his new life here in his own way, but with every new sword came a stinging reminder of home, especially when it was one of his brothers. His emotions always got the best of him in the end.
“D-- Don’t go,” he sniveled between hiccuping sobs. “Make-- Make sure you don’t go. Hakata... I-- I love you...!”
