Plane - Luxury luggage, made from aeroplanes.

Check out this new luxury travel brand on Kickstarter.Offering a collection of; weekend, messenger and rucksack bags, and laptop, tablets and mobile phone cases, Plane upcycles old fabrics from airplane seats. Combing these old yet funky textures with leather, creates a cool and stylish design that I really, really like. Each item displays the materials’ story; whether that is how many countries it has visited, how many miles its travelled, or how fast it has been at. This is a personal and intriguing touch, one that makes me want one... if only I could afford it.

Spector and Mimo by Fiona O’Leary

This is a game changer! The Spector recognises printed typefaces, enabling people to easily match typography. Furthermore, the “Mimo” captures colours and provides their RGB codes. Connecting to Adobe InDesign using a bluetooth plugin, the devices can also be used on the go, meaning the user can source colours and typography at any time.

The MINI ‘Vision Next 100′ Concept car was unveiled at the Roundhouse, in Camden, London. I was at the event on Thursday, where the Rolls-Royce Concept was also revealed, and got to interview MINI’s Head of Design, Anders Warming. The article is up on designboom now.

“Unzipped Wall” 2016 Serpentine Pavilion - Bjarke Ingels / BIG

A must see if you are in London. The 2016 Serpentine Pavilion by BIG, looks fantastic from all angles, with the interior views looking just as spectacular as the exterior.

The Line - Baker Street Boys

Sadly, I couldn’t attend the Clerkenwell Design Week this year, but a friend brought me a selection of great leaflets and brochures. The Line by the Baker Street Boys, was a highlight of this selection, with the use of contrasting materials and textures being an eye-catcher for me.

Poppi - Teague

I always like the work that Teague does. Their projects are all challenging and thought-provoking... this one is no different.

The “Poppi” explores a redefined airline experience, which includes self-serving machines for customer’s food and drink, new overhead baggage bins, and even click-in luggage.

The most impressive and most exploratory idea is the new middle seats. Poppi redefines the dreaded middle seat by offering brands the chance to connect and participate with the customer’s cabin experience. This could provide middle seat users with special gifts or tokens.

One idea which is nice but not too realistic, is the centred sun-roof. This looks great but how would that work? It would be the airplane’s weak spot under pressure, unless the window is created via virtual reality.

Another great design by Yves Behar and Fuseproject. The San Fransisco tech company seem to be rolling out more products than usual, yet the quality just keeps improving.

The “Zolt” enhances Avogy’s newly developed charging circuit board technology, which enables three electronic devices to be re-energised simultaneously.

Cleverly, the compact design is shaped as an octagonal tube. This created space for extra ventilation holes, meaning the product will not over-heat.

The Burntwood School by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM), in Wandsworth, London, recently won the 2015 RIBA Stirling Prize. By just looking at the exterior images, its pretty easy to see why. Its beautiful.

Announced at the 2015 Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA) in Frankfurt, Porsche unveiled the “MIssion E”. The car, which looks like a cross between a Porsche and an Aston Martin, is fully electric, providing over 600 hp and can race from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.5 seconds. The exterior design is unmistakably Porsche, yet for once, the style actually seems to have evolved.
