Good job, Tim. Were you translating an article into English or this is all your own idea? Either way, providing some context will make it easier to follow the story.
My own unconscious idea.
Cultural customs and traditions of my country.
I`m looking forward to your corrections or comments)
Hi Ivana, nice review about the culture of Ukrain, I’m gonna say to you about some things.
1.-When you say “spend” (I think that is spend) for me sounded like “spread”
2.-The father is the head of (the) family. (you forgot use “the”)
3.-As a godparents (I think that is more correct if you take out the “a”)
Excelent post!!
Keep doing a great work.
Thank you Ivanna, for sharing a glimpse of Cultures and customs of Ukraine. You said “…Culture, customs and traditionals in my country…” or may be it sounded to me like traditionals, you may use traditions or if you’ve used ‘traditions’ then you may improve its pronunciation.
Hi Lvana,i think your fluency and rhythm are not bad,but the pronunciation still need to be polished.Especially your uvular sound, you can do better if you can avoid it in some cases.Additionally, your vowel is not full,”parent”sounds like “poorent”.
Great work Ivanna! thanks for sharing this with us. It is great to know that you are participating in the ENS learning program! It is so interesting to learn about some of the cultural traditions in your country! It is amazing to hear how proud you are of your country and your traditions and it is so great for you to share this with the ENS community!
A great next step for you is to provide some small, but specific, corrections/suggestions for improvement. The more people who you help, the more people will help you in return and the more you will all improve together.
Keep up the great work and keep working together!
Thanks all of you guys for your corrections! I will try to practice all of these mistakes.
Wonderful! Some sentences I can't get: 1......and spend all time with guests? 2.If you are invited into family house at first, you have to bring brade? 3. We see well dishes, gifts, and many toases? 4.We can see many people going for the work, festival fires, national cacil fires?
This record is about Thailand’s national day because we don’t have Independence day. Thank you for listening. Enjoy it! *:)
Very interesting and informative. but maybe you could’ve said: Every family decorate their home (our home). Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us, Tety! It is so interesting to learn about your country and some of your traditions. You do a wonderful job of describing your National Day to us.
A great next step for you is to help many others of ENS by providing them with corrections/feedback. The more people who you help, the more people will help you in return.
Here are some tips to help you to improve your speaking:
Pronunciation of actually.
Pronunciation of priority.
Keep up the great work and keep working together!
Great post! I can't get these: 1.One sentence between “our country in southern asia” and “in our history, Tailand just loss some areas”?
Short story practice
We chased by the wild cur and run into the hall which looks like as a basketball gymasium. I and my daughter saw 2 guys have stayed there. One mature man was interviewing 40 minutes for each one, and would guarantee safety if passed testification.
We were waiting aside and I felt nervous, my instinct told me the man lie to us, and he would transform to the devil and kill all soon after. I looked around carefully and made effort trying to climb at some spots as high as possible, but felt uncomfortable immediately and anyone would see and reach easily.
More and more people arrived, I thought interview maybe last forever, which relaxed my vigilance. The dark and heavy curtains of gym were opened when day came. I saw bars behind curtains and occasionally I understood, maybe it was good idea to climb along the bars and found safe area on ceiling.
Halftime break was coming, and most people left the hall and walked around. I grape my daughter and told her to stay beside the curtain, I climb up immediately near ceiling, there still was 1.5 meters distant from ceiling, and I tried my best to jump over and caught one protruded board and climbed up, and showed my daughter came up as soon as possible.
My daughter’s climbing was not fast enough. people came back gradually and viewed this, some with same ideas climbed too. My daughter hesitated to jump over the gap and I promised to cling to her, and finally dragged successfully. The ceiling was assembled by many boards and hung over the roof, and height is about 4 meters
A lot of corpses lay on the boards and stayed tightly together, ice and snow spread over the body, obviously most of them have died in severe hypothermia, a small number of them are frozen but alive. More people climbed and jumped on ceiling, some frozen guys are creeping and weeping saw their family or friends. I understood, the ceiling was the last safe place which the devil would not kill directly, in which people still would underwent lethargy and low temperature when the massacre started, only lucky ones would not sleep forever and leave the hall.
Oh, Jesus, are you kidding me?
