Batman:The Long Halloween

Not what I intended to post but I finished the 13 Vol special of “The Long Halloween” by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale and damn that was one of the best mystery stories I’ve read. (More under cut)(spoilers)

The start was good and placed us in rich partygoer Bruce’s shoes and also introduced Selina Kyle cat woman good. I was a huge fan of this art direction and think it definitely helped the constant confusion of just who the Holliday killer could possibly be. The constant back and forth of if it’s Harvey or not and all the doubt shown in Batman’s character. I also liked Cat woman saving Bruce from Ivy and how it saves the story where it could’ve all gone wrong. I think the whole Gilda confession at the end is crazy too it kinda jumped at me but my only real question is why did Alberto Falcone admit to the killings? Even though it was a framing (unknowingly) by Harvey and (knowingly) by Gilda? Nonetheless it was a great story and I can’t wait to give Batman more love. I’m going through the Jason timeline next so look out for that!

Batman The Knight

I just finished reading the ten volume series and I can’t lie it was AMAZING (full review and covers under cut)

This story was one of the best I’ve ever read starting off my Batman filled journey I’ve always liked him as a kid and now I’m a late teen and his views are amazing. The way he is written as a character and the wording and philosophy of his morals are perfect this story makes me speechless ending off this origin story with saying “it’s time for the beginning” was absolutely perfect. all his mentors and how he uses their teachings and the references to them through the story and how they have fought him because of the goal he dreams of shows how powerful a narrow sighted hard driven character he is. Idk if I’m rambling too hard but the way he is called the demons heart instead of the demons hand because of his attachment to emotions, chefs kiss. Also a little thing I noticed was other characters like Bruce and the still being stealthier than Minhkhoa because of their extra stealth training (Bruce in Paris with Lucie and the still with Ra’s) which is training that Khoa never got. Nonetheless I’d recommend it to everyone ever in the whole world.

Seeing the Red Hood gang in Absolute Batman book 2 lowkey scared me, because I really want to see people like Dick and Jason show up later and having a whole red hood gang ran by Quinn kinda steals the name from the goat. I hope they make it to somehow writing in the rest of the Batfam because I love the damn story right now and I believe it can only go up.
