Hand processed tin tailings
Former tin miners at Geevor Museum. The miners were asked to squeeze a lump of Geevor tailings, the waste product from extractcing cassiterite (tin ore). These were cast and dripped with tin.
Tin Mine Clay. The tailings from tin mine processing at Geevor. Dominique Fuglistaller preparing to take impressions of the hands of former tin miners.
Today we dug, soaked and sieved tin mine tailings from Geevor.
Tin Mine Clay. Brown clay dug from Rosevale Mine by the Rosevale Historical Mining Society. Firing tests. Short and tricky to hold together much like Geevor Slimes clay.
