I really wanted to make a Gunne Sax style dress, but I didn't really have the right kind of fabrics to do the trademark pattern mixing. I feel like I got a decent amount of the McClintock spirit with my calico and eyelet, anyway.

My most recent project was to recreate a real children's fashion from 1969.

Clearly a very, very simple garment, self drafted.

I need to make the neckline lower next time, but I am very happy with the jabot collar blouse. It will mix and match with other things I have made already or will make soon.

Using Simplicity 8549 and 8451, I made this blouse and skirt. Both are patterns released specifically for Magic Attic dolls, who have a more slender build than the fabric body American Girl dolls.

I really like how these patterns are drafted. They're super easy to assemble and the fit is dead on. Both patterns hail from 1998 which I feel is really reflected in the look I created with this particular resource.

This evening I used Kwick Sew 2921 to make A pair of overalls to go with the original long sleeve t-shirt that this doll came with. Her full original factory outfit includes the pink jumper dress, the striped long sleeve t-shirt and headband, white socks and white fabric sneakers with pink shoelaces. In the moderately near future, I will be making other tops which will coordinate with both the jumper dress and the overalls.
