Adapting To Tiny Living, How do you do it? Learn By Doing. From learning to build your home on a @tinyhousetrailers or learning how to live in a small space, learn by doing is what we feel really makes all the difference. You can't always prepare for everything, sometimes you just have to figure it out as you go and adapt when you need to. Our house design was fluid and changed during our build and that's one of the reasons we preferred building with wood, Windows changed, Walls moved, We learned by doing. Going 4 years strong living tiny, We are always adapting our house to fit our needs. It's not that we felt we didn't design it or lay it out in the ideal way, We designed it to fit our needs and budget at the time and as time went on, We changed, We adapted and we modified our house to fit us. Our house has grown with us and when something works, It works well and when it doesn't, We change it but we learned by doing and learned by living. A Tiny House that is Human & K9 Friendly at the same time. We have been asked for years how our dogs manage our stairs and here is how they do it, with ease. Up and down they go as they please, if we need them to come down we just call out the special word: "treat" and this is what follows... Would you live tiny with your little 4 legged friend? Big animal or small, it can be done, just plan accordingly and you will have success! This beautiful 24ft Tiny House was built by high school students in Santa Barbara, CA. In 2016 the construction technology teacher reached out to us to build them a 24ft triple axle Tiny House Basics' @tinyhousetrailers for some upcoming classes on teaching their students to build. In addition to the tiny house trailer we built for them we also donated plans for our very own tiny house to further assist them. The teacher Justin stated: "my students worked extremely hard on this project and I am extremely proud of our work. It took us just under 2 years to build. As a result of this project, there has been a massive buzz of interest in my program from both students and parents, and we have a lot of momentum moving forward. In fact, three of my students have taken on paid summer internships with local builders as a result of the tiny home project and one is now employed full-time. As we look into our next build, the other HS teachers and I have decided that, instead of building one tiny home at each site, we will build one house collaboratively, and move it from school to school to work on different phases of the build." We are also so extremely proud of these student and their amazing work, it's a great privilege to be a part of this project by building their @tinyhousetrailers as well as dozens of other schools tiny house trailers for similar projects across the country. As a matter of fact we have over 5 other tiny house trailers in production now for schools across the US. What do you think of these students work? Hey Y'all! Tomorrow we are heading to Austin, Tx for the @tinyhousejamboree (8/23-8/26). We hope to see you there! We will be displaying one of our most popular sized Tiny House Basics' @tinyhousetrailers at our booth which will be in the showbarn (booth sb128). Come find us and say hello! Our Tiny House Living Room: With every small space you must sacrifice somewhere, No matter what sacrifices we had to make, We wouldn't budge on having a real couch in our living room. It has even taken many years to find the right one. The current one is our 4th couch since we built our home and has so far been the best yet. We even moved the bottom two steps of our stairs over to accommodate this larger couch from @cb2. No matter how small the living room it always feels open with the large window behind the couch and the mirrors to further bounce light throughout the house. How would you Design your living room? A Tiny House Designed to Entertain. From our first sketches the accordion window was always the focal point of our design, not just for looks but pure function, it truly opens up the 374sq/ft inside and brings the outside in. This is also where we spend most of our time, either inside or outside this massive window with a 8ft long bar top on both side. As you view out from the inside you have a fully unobstructed view of the valley below our tiny house. Tiny House Under Construction: We wanted to share this nearly completed 28ft Entertaining Abode build on one of our 28ft x 98" wide Tiny House Basics' @tinyhousetrailers . Among the things we still have left to do before we ship this tiny house to south California are: custom doors for cubby stairs, carpet master loft floor cubbies, seal countertops, build pantry next to fridge. finish special exterior venting for the propane fridge, finish trim work and touch up paint. Install stair railing and railing for master loft among other things. This tiny house was designed to model our very own home with some extra additions including a beautiful set of French doors and some other tweak to make this ideal for our clients.
